Ty called her the next evening but she didn’t pick up because her client’s event had lasted longer than she expected and she was to be there for the entire thing in case of wardrobe malfunctions (although those rarely ever happened).

Lo really hated celebrity events. To her, they were nothing more than fake smiles and even faker diamonds. She rolled her eyes all through the event as the celebrities oohed and aahed at each other as they bragged and bragged. Eventually, the event was over and of course there were no wardrobe malfunctions. As long as she got paid, she didn’t really care anyway.

When she eventually got home, she saw Ty’s missed call and contemplated calling him back.

Well, damn Lo, you gave him your number; might as well return his call, she thought.

The line rang twice before he picked up.

“Well look who finally decided to return my call,” she could hear the chuckle in his voice.

“Sorry, I just got home. Work ran a bit late,” she replied.

“A bit late?” he asked, sounding baffled, “it’s after midnight. I find that very hard to consider as ‘a bit late.’”

“Do you know how much celebrities TALK?” she almost screamed, “I swear those people spend 5 minutes eating and 7 hours just talking.”

“I assume you’re not exactly crazy about their lifestyle,” he observed.

She shrugged, even though she knew he couldn’t see her, “It’s not my business so I don’t really care so long as I get paid.”

“Hmhmm. But how was your day Lo? “ he asked.

His voice took on a low octave that made her shiver even though she was in her kitchen and it was warm. She could feel that same wetness developing between her legs. It showed up whenever she spoke to him or thought about him and frankly, it was becoming really pesky.

She took a big gulp of water, answered him and asked how his day was. Their conversation flowed from there and before Lo knew it, they had been speaking for about 3 hours. She didn’t have anything important to do the next day but she was tired ah she had to shower and sleep. Keeping up with her client’s fussy attitude bad drained her not only mentality but physically too.

They said goodnight and she ended up thinking about him as sleep enveloped her.

Lo and Ty continued talking on the phone for two weeks. For those two weeks, every time she went to Pam’s Place, she expected Ty to show up but he never did. He would just call her at intervals during the day and she also got comfortable calling him just to chat when she was free.

One night, her two friends Pam and Yaz were sleeping over at her house and had nothing else to do with their free time. Pam was able to take a day off from the paper work running a bistro ensued and Yaz who was a fitness trainer, gymnast and owner of several gymnasiums had some free time on her hands even though Lo hadn’t thought to ask how come.

The trio of ladies was in the living room watching re-run of Gossip Girl when Ty called again. Lo went to another room to answer the call and when she got back, the TV was muted and her friends were looking at her knowingly. It was all they could do to keep their smiles from reaching their ears.

“Why do you guys look so creepy?” Lo asked as she sat down.

Her friends turned simultaneously to gave her and she was seriously getting creeper out.

“Who’s the dude you’ve been talking to? Is he in your pants?” asked Yaz.

Lo rolled her eyes. Leave it to her friends to assume every man that she spoke to was fucking her.

“Nah, he’s just a friend. No big deal,” she replied nonchalantly.

“He calls you severally everyday and you dare say it’s no big deal?” Pam shrieked.

“Are you in high school, Pam?” Lo chuckled. Her friend sounded like a teenager who’s friend just got her first boyfriend.

“Just tell us who the fuck he is, Lo,” Pam said, “don’t think we don’t notice how you smile like an idiot when you’re talking to him and after you hang up. You’re head over ass, bitch.”

Lo had to laugh at that. There was absolutely no way she was had over anything for Ty. And just to prove it, she would tell her friends about him and not bad an eye.

“Fine. His name is Ty,” she looked at Pam, “we met him at a party the last week of college. You dared us to kiss.”

“YOU MEAN SEX-ON-LEGS?” she shrieked, “when did that happen?”

“Wait, wait, wait, hold up,” Yaz said, holding out her arms, “I didn’t meet any sexy man at a party with y’all.”

“You were at a gymnastics competition halfway across the country at the time,” Pam clarified.

“Anyway,” Lo emphasized, “he came to bistro while I was on duty and recognized me. He got my number and we’ve been talking since then.”

“But you want to fuck him,” Yaz said.

“Of course I do,” Lo said matter-of-factly, “the man is pure sex in jeans.”

“But didn’t you guys have dirty car sex the night y’all met?” Pam asked.

“It was definitely not dirty,” Lo feigned offense, “it was an amazing boink in a Chevrolet.”

Yaz rolled her eyes, “Which would’ve been different from a boink in your Audi?”

They snorted.

Lo thought about it a bit as she chewed on her Snicker bar.

“I just don’t want a case where he tries to get too personal and all,” she said.

“You guys have been talking every day and from what I have overheard, you guys are a conversation away from sharing your deepest, darkest secrets,” Pam said.

“Stop being a fucking busy body,” Lo laughed. She knew her friends wouldn’t be able to resist listening in.

“But if you just want to suck his cock, why haven’t you done so already?” Yaz asked, “I mean, we all know men are cheap.”

They all laughed at that.

“But seriously,” Yaz continued, “you could’ve met up and fucked his brains out by now. What’s going on?”

Lo shrugged, “I guess I actually like talking to him. I mean, I know I want to fuck him. The knowledge is there but when we talk, I don’t necessarily think about it as much as I’m thinking about what he’s saying. He’s really smart.”

Yaz and Pam looked at each other and smiled. Their friend had practically swooned while talking about this her new man and they just wanted to observe and see what would happen. But that didn’t mean they weren’t going to tease her tits off.

“So Miss I Don’t Do Commuted Relationships actually cares about someone’s intellect?” Pam asked and leaned back in her seat, “this should be interesting.”

She got a face full of popcorn for her statement.

“It’s never that deep, you idiot,” said Lo.

They all laughed and dropped the issue of Ty. But it still nagged Lo’s mind that Yaz had been right.

She could well have met up with Ty by now and fuckrd him to bits. It wouldn’t even cost her anything. But she also knew that deep down, she knew that if she slept with him, she’d leave. Just like she had left the night they had met. And as much as she hated to admit it, she didn’t want to stop the fun conversations with Ty. At least, not just yet.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Lo? Snap the bell out of it before you lose your head.

She had to get what she wanted from him, get rid of their sexual tension and end whatever was going on. She shouldn’t have even let it start in the first place. Gosh, she could be so daft sometimes.
