1.5. Back to the past
Few months later...
Swallowing the last piece of soft cookie, I then grabbed my mug of coffee and took a few last sips, all the while noticing Rebbeca's heated stare from my peripheral vision, purposefully pointed at the side of my face.
"Okay, I'm done now. Bye mom!" I hastily grabbed my backpack from the kitchen floor and scrambled to the front door before my bitch of a sister could've even thought about opening her bullshit-spewing mouth and comment anything about me not taking a ride to school with her anymore.
"NASTYA! DON'T FORGET TO-"
Slam!
I quickly slammed the front door behind me and cut off my mom's stupid shouting, breathing fast and wide-eyed as I noticed Rick standing outside the car, his forearms resting over the hood as he boredly stared in my direction.
Shit! Oh sweet Jesus please tell me he didn't hear that!
I mentally prayed as I fastly moved my ass towards the black SUV and threw myself in the backseat, closing the door behind like some serial killer was chasing me.
"Hey babe," I smiled at Blake as she greeted me in her usual way, right before Rick climbed inside as well.
"Took you a while," He commented while shifting in gear as the engine was already running, giving me a glance through the rearview mirror.
"Yeah sorry about that. My mom wouldn't let me leave until I had finished eating," I nervously explained, timidly peering into his honey eyes through the mirror.
Also, oh god please tell me he didn't hear that stupid pet name! I don't think I could ever live with the embarrassment!
I silently prayed once again, letting out a small sigh of relief once I've noticed him only giving me a small nod.
Even though he had eventually started to slowly warm up to me in these last few months -since he's been basically seeing my face every day as Blake and I were actually really close by now- I still couldn't get past my mild nervousness in his presence, no matter how hard I tried.
He just always seemed to carry around that scary aura and menacing presence, even though so far, he had never even asked me to move an inch, let alone do anything else.
Still, for some reason I wasn't even aware of, that nagging voice was always present at the back of my mind, pushing me to stay away. Warning me to stay as far as possible.
Feeling the car move forward, I sunk back into my seat and quietly listened to the radio playing in the brackground, occasionally chatting with Blake about the classes we had today and other boring stuff like that as we drove to school like any other day.
"Bye Ricky," I suddenly heard her say through my occasional daydreaming, briefly watching her give him a peck on the cheek before my gaze darted through the windshield, noticing we were already in the school's parking lot.
Grabbing my backpack, I murmured a timid bye and gave him a tiny smile, not even waiting for his reply as I quickly climbed out and waited for Blake to get her stuff and get out as well.
"Ready hun?"
I only nodded and gave her a smile before tangling my arm with hers, together walking to the school's entrance.

"No way, Mamoru is the best! I'd date him any time rather than that dog man,"
She let out a dramatic gasp, throwing me a murderous glare as we walked together down the hallway and to our lockers since our classes were almost over anyway.
"Don't you dare insult my baby! Inuyasha is way cooler than that lovey-dovey tuxedo ass-wipe!"
I let out a laugh, lightly shaking my head.
"No he's not! He's weird and so ill-mannered and so...well, animalistic," I made a rather disgusted sound for emphasis, bursting into another fit of giggles at the sight of her annoyed expression.
I really didn't like that Inuyasha character. He was always so mean and uncivilized with that Kagome girl. I only ever watched it with her because we would always watch Sailor Moon afterwards.
Mamoru is so sweet...
I let out a dreamy sigh as I stopped in front of my own locker.
And cute. And tall. And handsome...
Slam!
I suddenly startled in my spot, feeling like my heart would jump out any moment now as my gaze quickly darted to Blake's locker.
"Ow! Hey what the fuck!"
I stupidly blinked a few times as I stared between her shocked face and the unfamiliar guy standing right in front of her, holding his already bleeding nose.
What the fuck...
"I'm so s-sorry, I didn't see you..." She timidly mumbled -which was so freaking weird since I've never seen her act like this before- watching the guy's dark eyes soften at the mere sound of her voice.
"A-are you okay?" She questioned, peering up at him since he was quite tall, compared to her height.
"Y-yeah, yeah don't worry is just a scratch," He assured, giving her a bloodied smile.
What the hell.
I mentally facepalmed myself.
Oh he's gonna faint alright. Any moment now.
I let out a small snicker, momentarily drawing her attention. She only gave me a questioning look before averting her attention back to him.
"I-I'm Jake by the way," He introduced himself, stretching his hand out to her. Only the moment they both noticed the few drops of blood staining his fingers, he quickly removed his hand and tried wiping it with the hem of his checkered shirt.
Oh he's smitten already.
"Uh, here let me help you," She hastily started rummaging through her backpack before pulling out a pack of wet wipes.
"Uh, just...umm..." She blabbered as she carefully pried his hand still etched over his nose away and started cleaning his face, all the while he simply stood there like a damn plank of wood and stared at her, bewildered.
Yep. Definitely smitten.
I smirked to myself as I watched the whole scene along with half of our school population, since it was still break time.
Feeling the sudden need to pee once again, I quickly remembered I wanted to go for a while now so without any further hesitations I stepped closer and placed my palms over Blake's shoulders, giving her quite a startle as I felt her lightly jumping before whispering in her ear,
"Okay, so I'm gonna go and pee now..."
"I'll leave you with this nice gentleman for a few minutes, okay?" I then said a little bit louder, just enough for him to hear too, noticing the small blush creeping up his cheeks just before turning around to leave and head towards the bathroom.
"Oh and don't you dare leave me here and run away with him, okay?" I threw over my shoulder with a smirk, lightly shaking my head as I walked down the corridor.
Pushing the door open I then stepped inside the completely empty bathroom, rushing to the last stall and locked myself in before doing my business.
Can't risk some crazy-ass deaf bitch hit me with the door again.
I let out a small sigh as I've finished, quickly pulling up my panties and jeans afterwards.
But just as I was about to unlock the stall door and go to the sink, the loud bang of the entrance door being slammed open startled the living hell out of me, rendered completely motionless as I listened to the bunch of female voices as they entered the bathroom.
"Oh my god did you guys see that?"
"Yeah, I mean what the fuck? Does that guy have a death wish or something?"
"Yeah but he's new, he doesn't know who she is so..."
What?
"He's kinda cute though...In a nerdy sort of way..."
"Mm yeah..."
"Well that Leila girl's been hanging around with her for a few months now and she's pretty much alive and well so..."
"Yeah but she's a girl..."
"So what if she's a girl? I heard she's into girls too!"
"Oh my god you guys, I don't care how hot that brother of hers is, if he ever would've even glanced in my direction I'd be already pissing my pants dude,"
"Yeah..."
My mouth hung open after all I've just heard, standing like a damn fool inside that bathroom stall even though the whole room was completely silent now, indicating they had already left.
What...the fuck...
I simply blinked a few times as I struggled to wrap my mind around everything they've just said but failing miserably.
Just what the fuck is going on?
