Chapter 7 - Back to Hell Part 2

Lily

We all looked at each other as the people from the Red Dawn Pack stared at us. We couldn't get out.

Scratch that, I couldn't get out.

As soon as we hit the road, I couldn't do it. I wanted to cry and just go back but Jeremy would grab my hand and keep me in my spot.

"Are you okay?" Megan asks me from the back seat. I don't answer.

"We can always leave and say we got lost or something." Victor suggests.

"I don't think we can, Victor." Jesse replies slowly.

"Why not?"

"I'm ready," My stomachs drops as the words leave my mouth, "They are just people, you know?" I look at Jeremy, "They can't hurt me." Jeremy nods firmly.

And with that we get out the car one by one. Gasps erupt and we look at each other in confusion. It couldn't have been me. I covered up my scent so nobody could recognize me. We all did.

I wasn't going to but I'm afraid they won't listen if they know it's me. I've changed but I was such a pushover, it's hard to go forward from that.

I look over at the other car behind us, where our alpha and some army members are in. Once outside, some of our army members growl and cause the Red Dawn members to lower their gazes. I frown, I don't know why because they might find their mates here. At least half our army members haven't found their other half.

I can't help but feel their resentment towards them is because of me. They really didn't want to help but the alpha commanded it once the Red Dawn Pack alpha confessed they were having constant rouge attacks.

"We meet again," A huge man came which I recognized as alpha Green. He gives us a once-over and than shook hands with our alpha. From the looks of it, he didn't recognize any of us. My gaze wandered behind me, a part of me hoping Chase is behind him but he is not.

"Yes we are."

Our army stood in front of us and behind our alpha, their backs and necks ready for battle. I take a deep breathe when my eyes wander to some of my former classmates. They all look intimidated and I won't lie, it satisfies me.

"Let's go inside so we can get to know each other well," Alpha Greene suggested. Our alpha agreed and followed him but someone pulled me back. I turned around.

"Yes?" I quirk a brow and try my best to look confident.

"You're sweating."

"It's like seventy degrees out did you think I'd be cool?"

"Dang," Megan takes a step back and puts up her hands, "I was just saying."

"Yeah," I shake my head and clasp my hands together, "Sorry."

"Everyone is still looking at us," Mutters Victor with a smirk. I look around to see all the teenagers glancing and gossiping together. I roll my eyes when some girls put on their flirty faces and throw winks at the boys.

"Fail," Megan snickers.

Victor, Jesse, and Jeremy never respond to girls like that. Besides the fact that Jesse and Victor are waiting for their mates, it's against our policy to flirt with the packs we are helping. If anything goes wrong and if interpreted wrongly, it could cause a drift or even a war. I know it sounds ridicules but you'd be surprised by the amount of pettiness an alpha or a whole pack can have.

"They are checking us out." Jesse whispers the obvious with a cocky voice. A few guys walk past us and wink at Megan and I.

"Are they?" Jeremy slings his arm around my shoulder possessively.

"No shit Sherlock."

"Hey!" An army members comes out the house, "Let's go!"

"Alright!" Victor yells. When he leaves, Victor makes a circular motion outside his ear signaling that he's crazy. I crack a smile and feel at ease.

We enter the pack house and I try my best to stand behind Jeremy. He looks back at me but doesn't question it. Jesse bumps shoulders with me and gives me a thumbs up.

I return the gesture.

"One of strongest teams will be training your group members from afternoon to nightfall." Our alpha speaks from somewhere ahead of us. I try to look confident when the most powerful families of the Red Dawn Pack give us a once over but my knees begin to shake as soon a little girl taps her mother's legs. The mother looks at me and then whispers something to her husband. Please no, I'm not ready!

"I'm impressed. You're trainers look very built and mature."

"No these aren't our trainers. They are actually at the back. Jesse? Jeremy?"

I'm dead.

With a sweaty neck and shaking hands, I make my way to the front with Jeremy and Jesse in front of us and Victor and Megan beside me.

"These are our trainers." He introduces. Everyone's mouths drop open in shock. Alpha Greene looks stunned.

We always get that. I mean we are only teenagers. And still in high school too.

"Is this a joke? We are in need of serious help, Mr. Parker." Alpha Greene's voice is composed but firm.

"If you would have read the files I sent over, the information of the group was in there. You're beta said it was fine."

Alpha Greene clears his throat, "Yes I remember. I apologize, I was just surprised by how young they look."

"They also look young in the pictures I sent."

"Yes," Alpha Green composed himself.

Our alpha continues, "They are all in high school." Gasps. "But I can confirm that they leave results. They all have previous experience and are able to compose a plan to train your members as fast as possible. They are smart and capable."

"How is that possible? Only the Royals are able to be strong at this age."

My wolf whimpers and jumps at the familiar scent.

"My son Chase and my daughter Alexis. My son Brandon is currently on patrol." Alpha Greene introduces and motions to the staircase. We follow his motions and our eyes spot Chase and his sister, Alexis, coming down the stairs.

My heart starts to beat rapidly. He got more handsome. And his arms and chest look broad and muscular. His eyes look brighter but his face looks worn out and tired. My wolf whimpers, disliking the certain sadness behind his bright eyes.

Damn it, my wolf has no right to make me feel like this! I tighten my fists until my nails dig into the skin of my palms.

"I shouldn't have to explain to the son of an alpha my words. But you know that." Our Alpha is calm but I notice his hands ball into fists.

"Yes, Alpha." Chase bows, "I apologize but you must understand my bewilderment. We understand your credentials and legacy but it's hard to believe that you're putting some teenagers in charge of training." Chase and Alexis stand beside their father. Alpha Greene looks proud.

"I trained my pack with honor and respect," Our alpha begins, "We have strict policies and pride ourselves in our progress. But most of all, we have honor and wish to help those around us." Our alpha stops for a brief moment and gives them a look that makes everyone, even alpha Greene, take a step back. "And that is what makes us the strongest pack of all."

"Yes, we thank you for it." Alpha Greene looks unhappy for for a few seconds, "Can you introduce us?" Chase nods as his gaze examines us. I keep my eyes on alpha Greene.

"I'd be delighted," I can hear the anger in our alpha's words. "To begin, this is Jesse." Jesse steps forward. "He can be strict but he is a great leader and gets the job done."

Jesse bows.

"Jeremy is determined, put together, and a great leader."

Jeremy bows down quickly, his arms and neck stiff.

Our alpha glances at me and my stomach drops.

"Victor is a unique but I confirm when I say his methods work."

Victor bows and winks at a group of girls. They giggle.

"Megan is the strictest there is but that's what makes her great."

"Damn right," Megan bows with an evil smirk. The woman in front of her pulls her child back.

Here it goes.

"And Lily." It's here. "She's very special, strong, and a fast learner."

Our alpha nods in encouragement and I bow. I take a deep breathe and straighten up, meeting Alpha Greene in the eyes. However, he just nods in affirmation and turns back to our alpha.

I want to tell him I'm back but I can't bring myself to. Part of me knows he'll just dismiss me like before and the other part knows it won't make a difference to him.

"Lily?" Chase chokes.

My wolf whimpers.

"Yes?" I raise my eyebrow as confidently as I can. The others get behind me and I feel Jeremy's hand on my back.

My wolf howls in pain when Chase shakes his head and takes a step back.

"Sorry. I just - I just had a flashback to my dead ma - a dead pack member."

I feel my heart jump at the sound of his voice.

Wait did he say dead?

"Dead?" I whisper heartlessly.

Alpha Greene speaks, "She was just a former pack member. She wasn't very well liked given her nature but she will be forever missed." Alpha Greene finishes in a tone that says the conversation is over.

Given her nature? What?

I swallow the lump in my throat. Can it be... ?

"She was from the Alvarez family," Alexis begins despite her father's glare, "They found her body near a lake. It seems that she committed suicide." Alexis' tone is low. She glances back at her father and straightens her posture, "But nobody knows why! I mean, I never got to know her but people said she was mean, heartless, and all that...." She trails off and her voice gets small.

I want to yell. How dare they?! I've always been nice despite their constant bullying. It was them! She! All of them!

My nervousness vanishes and I replace it with anger. I straighten up and cross my arms.

"What?!" Megan looks like she's about to say something but Jesse pulls her back.

"No." My voice came out strong and demanding. I feel the presence of my Pack around me, giving me strength and support, making me confident.

I take a step forward, grab a strand of my hair, and twirl it on my finger.

All eyes zone on me and my pack backs away.

My eyes connect with every pair of eyes until they land on the person who gave me the most pain.

"I'm alive."
