"He's denying the mate bond isn't he," my brother in arms stated as we once again landed in the pack grounds in Brentwood. Again our prince didn't wait till we fully land before bounding out, shifting in mid-sprint.

Our young prince was respected by all and feared by most alphas for his deathly calmness and what his gifts can do to anyone. Though we are all nearly the same age we were very protective of this prince. King Caiden was the most feared among the kingdom but my men and I knew better. King Michael and Queen Emma informed us of the secret they've kept from their children for years to avoid conflict between the three.

"Yup. I guess this is because of his first mate," I said to Zhee as we slowly walked to the clearing to wait until he tires himself out. We have just finished his last on-site meeting when we sensed his agitation, he didn't have to tell us anything, we simply told our pilot to meet us in Central Park to go over to Brentwood.

"What I don't understand is why she wasn't mentioned all those years ago?" Alex our pilot asked.

Zhee looked at me before he shifted to patrol the area Prince Angelo disappeared too. Both of us have been with the prince longer than the other sentinels, Angelo practically trained us as his father trained him.

"Prince Angelo don't do pity. To him it makes you weak, words of sympathy solves nothing nor bring back your loved ones. You just move on but in his case, I think he's just covering it all up." I explained the best way I can.

"I can't imagine the pain of losing your mate at seventeen or even losing her at all. So what are we gonna do with this mate of his? By the way, is she a wolf or not?" he asked frowning in concentration.

"She has the scent of a wolf but we all came to the conclusion that it's dormant. Maybe a sheltered past or something. I don't know what the prince will do with her all I know he can't keep fighting it. His possessive side showed today when she was getting unwanted male attention but something happened in the car after I don't know" I explained thinking back how frustrated and tense he got at the second site meeting this wasn't good for him.

Staying away from his mate will only have his wolf angry at the slightest thing and Lykos was very powerful and would need his mate soon no matter how hard they both try to deny it.

"Talk to him. He's close to you as he is with King Caiden." Alex said before he ran back to the chopper.

The ringing of my phone was a good interruption from my worries about my prince.

"Hey man. Is Angelo around? This is the second time he hasn't returned to the office." The prince's human friend was very protective of him also even though Angelo can protect himself fully.

"He's blowing off some steam. Yo, I gotta talk to you though about this girl you pushed under his nose" I answered.

The little punk just laughed in response, "Oh so he has finally stepped out and find a girl interesting huh. Please tell me there's gonna be some kind of office romance between those two"

I rolled my eyes and thought how close he was to the truth but far off to the office romance thing.

"Dude. No. It's just that this girl...... well.... she's Angelo's mate" I said waiting to hear his response.

The silence was what I got, I checked the call to see if the call was disconnected then he spoke, "So that's why Caiden asked me to keep her beside him no matter what he says." he mumbled maybe to himself but I heard.

"Don't make him wise that you know, he's going through a little problem but I'm going to need your help to push them closer together."

"Want me to send them to a private island and forget to tell the pilot to return for them?" he asked in the most serious tone.

I literally facepalmed myself looking upwards to the heavens wondering how did I endure this guy through Angelo's college years, which wasn't long for him.

"No Josiah. I'm not stranding my prince on a private island. His mother will kill me" I said in a hushed tone.

"Well sorry for sharing my ideas. You got any better ones" he asked no doubt he's rolling his eyes with that statement.

"I'm thinking but the need to get them together. Goddess forbid we want another brother going on a rampage." I muttered walking back to the chopper.

"Ohhhhh the Caiden Catastrophe. If that happens with Angelo can we call it the Angelo Apocalypse?" he asked with all the seriousness I knew he just mustered.

"Court" I growled in warning.

"Fine. You sentinels are so freaking serious damn. I will think of a plan and you do whatever wolfy thing you gotta do with him. I'm out." he said hanging up.

I swear every time I talk to that human and inch of my sanity withers away. "So what you gonna do?" Alex asked looking out at the field where Angelo and Zhee were walking back to the chopper. He looked calmer but his eyes were clouded. Probably talking to his wolf, it's better to leave those two alone for now till we go back to the penthouse.

"Lay it all on the table and I know exactly who to call"I answered. Thankfully this person is on pack reviews in Connecticut.

The ride back to the penthouse was silent, Angelo was much more quiet than usual, he blocked off his link to us, he was truly more seclusive.

When we landed he went straight down to his room without greeting the housekeeper, we had the whole top floor to ourselves so our rooms were across the hallway from his private apartment.

"Who did you call?" Zhee asked as he plopped down before the flat screen tv with a beer.

"You will soon find out," I answered vaguely looking at the time. In two hours he's set to arrive, he didn't ask any questions when I told him something came up with Angelo.

Zhee and Alex snorted in response as they both settled in to watch a football game. I used that time to call my family back home, making sure they were all safe.

A knock on the door brought me out of a game I was playing on the tv in my room. "Jace. He's here" Alex said opening my door. I saw how tense he was and knew that was because of the person in the living room. As I made my way in my wolf instantly submitted as we saw the man who struck fear in everyone beside King Michael and Caiden. "Sir. Thank you for coming" I said bowing before him.

He simply nodded and strode out the door and into the nearby suite; my brothers watched me in shock for what I've done.

"He's the only one that can help," I said softly before I followed.

"Angelo Christian Saville your presence is needed out here" my commander bellowed from the living room standing at ease as I stood by the window looking out at the New York nightlife. He was still in his fight gear which gave off his dangerous aura more.

"Uncle Jonah?" the prince answered rushing from his room staring at Delta Jonah in surprise.

"One and Only kid. Come here" he said smiling warmly at his young nephew. Everyone knew Angelo was Jonah's soft spot since he was born no one knew why. Some say it's probably the way he took after Emma in looks, no one really knew why.

Angelo smiled and rushed over to his uncle with a genuine smile on his face. "There's my boy," Jonah said holding the prince tightly then let him go. Angelo gave him a questioning look before sitting on the sofa facing his uncle.

"I've heard something that I'm not too pleased of. Well, the first part I was happy to hear but the second part not so much" Jonah said pacing the floor. That was his thinking move, thinking of ways how to sugar coat stuff without hurting the person but somehow it doesn't work.

"Time to move on and accept this new mate. You're not seventeen anymore. Suck it up Angelo" he said holding his nephew's gaze.

I winced by his tone and that was the non-sugar coated statement.

"No."

"No? I wasn't asking Angie" Jonah said coldly.

Angelo visibly flinched and kept his head low. Jonah turned to me and motioned for me to step up.

"Sir. I've been by your side since you were eighteen and watched how you shut everyone out, at first I didn't know why but when you told us earlier why you do, I couldn't blame you for shutting down. The goddess doesn't make mistakes in sending your mate to you. Even her timings are spot on. I called Delta Jonah to help you see that it's time to fully move on. If you keep on denying your mate bond then....." I said trailing off.

"You guys don't understand. I want to move on but I-I'm so fucking scared. Scared that I will lose all the memories of Elise. Scared that Amelia would leave my side just like Elise. Scared that I won't be happy as my parents and my siblings. Do you know what it's like to get up every day after her death and your heart is constantly heavy, seeing mama and dad so in love, then seeing Becca with Matt and now Cay and Rosie? They got a chance of happiness at one glance why the fuck that didn't happen for me.

I literally had two days to hold her. The day I met her and the day I lost her. Those days are the only days I got to hear her voice say 'I love you' without a damn computer screen blocking us."

Jonah and I stood watching the prince crumble before us, the strong powerful prince we grew to love was now broken and in tears on the floor.

"She's better off without me" he whispered.

"Hey. Did I ever tell you about Helen?" Jonah said moving to sit beside Angelo.

A sad smile was on my lips as I do remember the girl who stole the executioner's heart.

Angelo shook his head no and Jonah nodded and continued. "Helen was a rogue not by choice but by force. She was this fiery little slip of a thing with wild red hair and the most serene brown eyes. I met her when I went on a review with your dad at Janovich's pack....." We both let out a low growl at the mention of that pathetic alpha's name.

"Yeah, my sentiments exactly" Jonah commented.

"Anyway she was captured by his patrolmen along the border, they were using their authority over her unfairly but luckily I was there, somehow I knew she would of handle herself well. I ordered them to stop but they made it known she was a rogue. I didn't care I was already lost in the spitfire's brown eyes. The little twit had me under her spell and she hasn't said two words to me. " he continued laughing getting lost in memories.

"I got them to hand her over to me which they were reluctant to do. When they left, she slapped me and yelled, that she was no damsel in distress. I was truly amused and just wanted to have her for myself. My wolf never felt so close to a she-wolf before but here was this beauty bringing us to our knees in a matter of minutes. I kissed her right then and there what surprised me was her response to me, she returned my kiss. She felt all kinds of right in my arms I was happy even my wolf was happy.

For that whole week at Janovich I didn't want her to leave my side I even wanted her to return to the castle with me but she refused, saying it will be of bad taste for a rogue to be the mistress to the Royal Delta. I tried to prove her wrong that she was truly mine but she stayed in that pack. I was uneasy of leaving her there because for one she was half-human. Two, Janovich believed in the whole purebred wolf thing, and third, she was a rogue under my protection. I left her reluctantly but promised to visit her as much as I can and I did for nearly three months. There was a time our plans had to change I couldn't make it, I had to go to London with your mother. When I came back stateside I went to see her right away.

She wasn't there. She promised me she would wait for me till I return to tell me some good news. We talked nearly every day while I was away but two days before my arrival things got weird. She didn't answer my calls nor text. That stupid alpha said she left saying pack life wasn't for her which was a lie. Helen loved being around people and like being there.

I followed her faint scent about a town over and what I found changed me for good."

He stayed quiet and went to the window, I stayed quiet also, the men who were under his command was sworn to secrecy on that search and rescue detail.

"Uncle?" Angelo called out.

Jonah turned around his eyes were blurry he looked up to the ceiling probably willing the tears to stay put.

"Let's just say if your brother had the power earlier to take away the bond, the family would have been welcoming my firstborn and the love of my life," he said with a sad smile.

Angelo stayed quiet as I went and stood by my commander. "I'm sorry you had to do this sir."

"Sooner or later it had to be done" he answered.

"How? How did you move on? Aren't you scared?" Angelo asked quietly.

"I know she will want me to be happy but I am scared of loving another now that I'm free to have a mate. All I have to remember is that Helen will always be part of me even when I'm with another. I gotta put my self out there." Jonah said shrugging his shoulders.

The room went in silence once more.

"You promise it will be okay?" Angelo asked looking at Jonah than I.

"We promise," we both said to him.

Nodding his head in acknowledgment, he stood up and enveloped both of us in a hug, "I'll give it a try" he said softly before leaving us.

Delta Jonah walked back to the window and gazed out into the night, a smirk played across his face.

"Killing that bastard was worth it. His life for hers. Perfect solution" he said coldly.

"Indeed it was, sir. Indeed it was" I agreed watching out into the night also.

What Alpha Janovich did to Helen was beyond cruel but he got his just dessert, no one messes with the executioner's family.

No one.
