Amelia

"Let me get this straight. Correct me if I'm wrong. He moved like a possessive boyfriend earlier today after some male attention seekers. Actually touched you and spoke to you but called you another woman's name. Then he sent you back to the office after he said well his bodyguard said that you go where ever he goes?" This was all recounted to me by my friend as she checked them off on her fingers while looking at me unbelievably.

"Yup," I said drinking a glass of red wine idly pacing the floor.

Leah stayed quiet, her brother Liam was at the apartment also but was in the kitchen.

"Did you ask him who she was?"

"No, but I can tell by the look on his face and his eyes that he.... loves her" I replied. Why did it hurt saying that last part so much? I swallowed nervously at the thought that my feelings haven't totally vanished from seeing those pictures in his office.

"So........ you're going on assumption?"

I looked at her squarely in the eye then knocked back the remaining of wine. "Yes. She is probably some gorgeous leggy model who comes from the most elite family. Why would he look at me?" I said bitterly.

"What is wrong with you? Why would Angelo not want you?" She asked softly her voice filled with concern.

I said nothing but just blankly stared at the beige carpets below my feet. Memories of my past came rolling in and one person stood out - Bryan. To him, I was a simple girl who was lucky to catch his attention in the easiest way. He never failed to remind me of that whenever he bought me things or openly flirt with other women. Bryan was a rich boy back in my hometown with a dark background, all my friends were telling me how lucky I was but they didn't know what happened behind closed doors. I was glad when he threw me out of his life, it was a huge relief.

"Because I'm just a simple girl compared to him and his family. Oh, and you know what else he's probably too stuck up and too high on his pedestal to notice me." Why am I talking like this, I didn't want my boss and I can't be crushing on him that would be so cliche.

"Assumptions again?" she called out. I was distracted as Liam came out carrying two steaming bowls of pasta for us.

"Maybe" I mumbled accepting the plate from her brother he was too perfect. Good looking, strong, confident and can cook. Why couldn't I be attracted to him and not my boss?

There I go again.

'No. No one but Angelo,' the voice from earlier said and why did she have to say his name. I shook my head and returned to Leah. "And what brought this on now?" she asked highly amused as Liam went and sit next to her.

Rolling my eyes I told her of the pictures I've found on his desk. "The picture looked like they wanted to throw their money into the little people's faces. Taking pictures like they are truly royal with those expensive crowns on their heads," I ended.

Both of them stayed quiet while passing glances between each other it seems that they having a silent conversation with their eyes. "It's rude to talk among company you know," I muttered.

"Sorry," Liam said sheepishly.

"Sweetie you do know that they are other royals beside Prince Harry and Prince William right?" my friend asked.

Rolling my eyes yet again I answered, "Besides some princess in Spain and the rest of the British royal family I highly doubt that"

"But they are. It has other countries in the world that most people do not know and their country are under a Royal Monarchy. Royalty have passed through this city countless times and right under our noses and we don't even know"

I snorted in absurdness watching both Liam and Leah with the serious expressions on their face, it looks like they do believe that Angelo Saville is royalty.

"You guys think the Saville family are truly royalty?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We don't think they are. We know they are. Angelo Saville is a prince. The fourth generation to be exact. His brother will be king in one and a half years," Liam answered.

I watched them for a moment and erupted in laughter for a good 10 seconds before I got up and took away their wine glasses. "I think that's enough for tonight. If I continue to let you two drink, you guys would be telling me of witches and vampires and things that go bump in the night"

"Or werewolves," I heard Leah muttered.

"What was that?" I asked trying to confirm what I heard. "Oh. Nothing. Why don't you ask him if he's truly a prince" Leah said out loud as I entered the kitchen to deposit my dirty dishes.

"Yeah right. I'm not going to humiliate myself in front of my boss and ask such a stupid question. He shouldn't know I talk about him with my friends" I answered coming back to the living room.

They both nodded and kept quiet for the rest of the evening until we all retired for bed. Shaking my head at their silliness thinking Angelo and his family are truly royal I drifted off to sleep where my dreams only consisted of the self-proclaimed prince Angelo.

The rest of the week at Saville Enterprises Inc went by smoothly and carried a slight change. No longer did I receive a grunt but a smile of good morning from Mr. Saville. He even smiles in acknowledgment and nods in answers whenever I approach him about work. It was somewhat welcoming and every small smile he sent my way made my heart flutter but I struggled hard not to let them affect me to an extent.

On his meeting with this new client, Ms. Janine Redbrook he asked me to sit in via his right-hand man Jace. I didn't put much thought into it but brushed it off as he wanted me to take notes on this client.

He was the first to enter the meeting room when the shrill voice of a woman called out his name in greeting.

"Mr. Angelo Saville. It's so good to finally meet you. I must say you are a very busy man and thankful you can meet me" she said holding on to the hand longer than normal that he offered her. He expertly removed his hand from her grip and offered her seat then took his own at the head of the table.

Ms. Redbrook decided to sit on his right and not too subtly pulled her chair closer to him.

I must say this woman was very attractive with raven locks and arctic blue eyes. Her facial features were flawless, perfect cheekbones, an aristocratic nose, and a perfect pair of lips. A woman who I can see fitting at Angelo's side. A wave of sadness took over me, my eyes faintly pricked with tears as I envisioned this beauty beside him both of them happily in love.

Angelo cleared his throat loudly which brought my attention to him, looking up at him his eyes held a bit of concern as he looked at me while Ms. Redbrook watched me in disgust but quickly hid it. Did he see my moment of weakness? Should I be having these thoughts about him that were hurting me so? The thoughts were shocking to me and I couldn't deny the fact that I do have an inkling of feeling for my boss.

"Good morning Ms. Redbrook can you kindly tell us the idea you had in mind in building your spa and resort?" I asked.

Angelo took out his Ipad and waited for her to start, "Well first thing first, money won't be an issue. My resort must be grand and majestic a place where people can feel like royalty while being treated like royalty" she said animatedly.

"Okay. How many rooms for lodging? Any additional ones besides those? Also, where do you want this resort" I asked calmly as she leaned over to Angelo, pushing her cleavage more into his view but Angelo was completely oblivious to her moves.

"Aspen. It's beautiful all year round. Have you ever been Mr. Saville?" she asked placing her hand on his forearm. He nodded his reply but kept his focus on his Ipad. I was both confused by him and disgusted by her.

A strand of his silky black locks escaped its hold and was now dangling in front of his face. Ms. Redbrook took this as an opportunity to touch him, she was about to tuck his hair behind his ear but he visibly flinched away from her touch and fixed her with a cold gaze.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Saville but I didn't want you to lose your focus with this hair in the way" she smoothly copped out. He gave her a stiff nod then gestured to me, she was uncertain of what he wanted.

"He wants you to answer the questions," I said coldly.

I didn't want her touching him at all thank heavens he moved away, she was more interested in bedding him than the purpose she came to us for.

She answered my questions then resumed her flirting with him. She placed her hand on his forearm once more while pointing to something on his tablet asking him questions. Once more she pushed her cleavage towards him this time it brushed his arm as she gazed at him like a predator.

In a domino effect, the pencil I was gripping in annoyance in my hand snapped as Angelo pulled sharply away from her. "This is a business, not a bar. Please refrain from touching me or throwing any sexual innuendos my way. If you want me to head the construction of your business rethink your example of being professional," he said coldly before stalking out of the room forgetting his devices. Though he was speaking to Ms. Redbrook his voice still affected me greatly but why? Other men have spoken to me and not once did their voice stirred that longing feeling like Angelo's voice does.

The look on her face was priceless, it seems that Mr. Angelo Saville was the first man to deny her method of seduction. I wanted to laugh but had to be professional.

"Mr. Saville will be awaiting your decision if you are serious that is," I said smugly.

She tried to keep a straight face as she stood and fixed her clothes but I saw the blush of humiliation. Shaking my head I gathered my things also Angelo's and took my leave.

Back up on our floor as I was about to step into the corridor I collided with Angelo. I nearly fell backward from my towering heels but he held me steady. The feel of hands sent a jolt of electricity through my body, I took a sharp intake of air by that touch as I was also caught in his gaze. His emerald green gaze was intense and was getting darker. It was filled with lust and so much more I couldn't decipher, his warm minty breath fanned my face lightly as he brought his head closer to mine. His eyes flickered to my lips, unconsciously I licked them slowly while I heard a faint animalistic growl from him. I won't lie that sent my womanly parts wild, I too edged closer curious to see what he wanted to do. His lips were beckoning to me, just one kiss I wanted to feel them against mine.

"M--" he began to say but as faith has it we were interrupted by the vice president himself.

"Miss Starkov," he called out from afar he probably saw my back, both of us separated ourselves quickly. He took his iPad and phone our fingers brushing lightly causing me to let out a small whimper and with that, he turned around and went back into his office.

What was he going to say? Was he going to call me his Elise once again? My heart saddened by that thought.

"Miss Starkov there you are," Mr. Court said cheerfully as usual.

"Yes, Mr. Court how can I help you?" I answered with a strained smile.

"I called your desk phone but no answer I would like to speak to you privately please," he said gesturing for me to lead the way to his office.

I did so obediently, walking past Brenda who gave me a sly smirk and a wave, what was that about.

I stood before his desk as he got comfortable behind it. He looked at me intently with a playful smile on his lips. "I have a favor to ask of you Ms. Starkov I hope you will accept." he finally said.

"What is it, sir?" I asked a bit intrigued.

"Tonight is the company's charity ball and we need someone to be in place for Angelo. He doesn't do public events" he said.

"Why don't you do I'm just his assistant," I asked confused by his request.

"I'm afraid I won't be able to make it. Family emergency and Brenda...well....she's Brenda she doesn't like those things"

"B-But I don't have a dress. My hair would have to be done" I said trying to reason with him.

"An appointment has been made for you at 3:30 for both dress and hair at one of the family's salons and boutiques. The company car is currently waiting for you downstairs, the driver will take you to any other place you wish to go. Oh and this is a plus one event. You can bring a date if you wish."

He had an answer for everything, didn't he?

Chewing my lip I thought of an answer but all that came to mind was the almost-kiss between Angelo and me. I wanted to finish it but I know that ship has sailed now.

"Miss Starkov your answer?" Mr. Court's question brought me out of my silly thoughts.

"Sure. Yeah," I stuttered.

"Good. Oh and don't mention this to Angelo he really hates them even to hear of them. Weird kid" he muttered under his breath.

"Sure, no problem Mr. Court," I said giving him a smile and left his office.

Before I went back to my desk I texted my best friend.

'How do you feel in attending a ball tonight'

'Hell yeah, maybe I can meet prince charming tonight' was her reply.

Sitting behind my desk I thought about my night ahead.
