4. Adrian Ferro

The Alpha scratched off yet another name from the list. They were almost at the bottom of the page but did not find a suitable Personal Assistant for the three of them. Most of them were dressed as if it was an audition for cheap porno, licking their lips seductively and leaning forward to show off their chest. That’s definitely not what they wanted in their workplace.

Adrain was annoyed, and it had been only half an hour since they started their interview. He looked over at his partner and best friend, Nicholas, who had irritation written all over his face.

“Why is this so difficult?” Adrain sighed.

“Maybe because Eric can’t keep his dick in his pants” His Alpha friend bitterly chuckled.

He winced at that. Even though he loved Eric like his brother, he can’t defend him for this. When the first two of them left because they wanted “more” but Eric was not ready, Adrian understood it. But it’s been three omegas since then, and there’s no stopping their friend.

“And don’t you dare defend him!” Nicholas snarled.

Adrian raised his hand in the air, “I’m not! This has gone too far. He should know better than to mix business with pleasure.”

Nicholas sighed, “Right?! And we are the ones left to clean up his mess.”

Before Adrian could reply, he picked up a voice from outside, actually two voices arguing. He narrowed his eyes at that. That voice sounded familiar, but he couldn’t place it.

“Do you hear it?” He turned towards his friend.

“Yeah...It sounds familiar” Nicholas hummed.

“I’ll check”

Adrian waltzed to the glass door when he saw the omega. The one from the elevator. No wonder the voice sounded so familiar. As if she felt his eyes on her, she lifted her head. Before he could say anything, she rushed towards him. Her eyes widened in realisation.

She parted her lips, “I didn’t know-I...”

He met her eyes and shook his head.

The omega jolted forward as he addressed her, her lips folded together. “Mr Bellini, I’m Alyssa. I’m here about the position for Personal Assistant. My uncle...he spoke to you. I’m sorry, I think I’m a little late.”

Adrian found his brain go dim. No words come to his mind as he stared in stunned, mystified state of breathlessness at the omega in front of him. She even got his name wrong. It took him a few seconds to realise that.

Paris made a sound, her arms crossed together. “Ms Rivers here took it upon herself to run right over us, insisting on seeing Mr Bellini. I already informed her that she’s rejected for the interview.”

The Alpha turned deaf tear to whatever Paris had to say, his eyes taking in every detail of the bold omega in front of him.

She’s pretty, up close. Her blue eyes resembling the calmness of sea while those pink lips round and wide, making her look like a pixie. She had full lashes, brushing against her cheekbones and a pert nose.

Adrain developed a want in him that hit him in his core so much so that he wanted to touch those pink lips to see if they were as soft as they looked.

The sweet omega forwarded her hand towards him, meeting his eyes. “Mr Bellini, please may we speak? I need this job. Allow me to work under you, and I won’t disappoint you.”

She had a glint in her eyes, so fierce and raging that it was impossible to deny. He found quickly nodding his head.

Paris coughed, breaking their stare.

It was enough to break his momentary state of tongue-tied incomprehension.

“Paris I will see Ms Rivers.”

Alyssa beamed, “Thank you so much, Mr Bellini.”

Then it hit him that she was still under the impression he’s Eric. Why does she think that? The Alpha cleared his throat.

“It’s Ferro. I’m Adrian Ferro”

“Huh?” She halted at the doorstep instead of following him inside.

Adrian took a deep breath, trying not to inhale more of her heady scent. He was already affected by her presence. The last thing he needed was to have that smell memorised.

“Eric Bellini is my business partner. Unfortunately, he won’t be available for a few days. So I am interviewing with our other business partner.”

Her mouth opened and closed, face falling slightly as the information sank in. Should he have not told her? The Alpha didn’t like seeing the sudden sadness on her face.

Alyssa blinked, “I was under the impression that my uncle might have spoken to him. I’m so sorry for wasting your time, Mr Ferro.”

“You can still interview for the job you know that, right?”

“Really?” Her eyes widened.

“Yeah. We want to keep it fair for everyone so we will select you on your performance today. Good luck”

That’s technically not a lie. He had his vote in her favour. No one has to know.

“Oh, thank you! Thank you so much, Mr Ferro” She cried.

As they started walking towards the office door, he was aware that her eyes were taking in the lavishly decorated office.

Nicholas raised his brow at Adrian as soon as he walked in with Alyssa.

The omegas eyes widened in realisation. Her cheeks were red the entire time she walked in to slump on the chair on the other side of the desk.

“She’s one of our applicant, Alyssa Rivers” Adrian motioned to Nicholas.

“Oh, okay. Good morning Ms Rivers. I’m Nicholas Rose”

Alyssa nodded her head, “Good morning, Mr Rose.”

Adrian sat. His desk was large, neat, devoid of any clutter except the files for the interview. He leaned a slight bit forward because he took note as he sat how her eyes were roaming over all of his form as he moved away. It flattered him a bit.

Adrian Ferro was an Alpha easily described as broad shoulders, long legs, a lean muscularity the dark designer suits and shirts did nothing to hide. Most of the days he’s sporting his clothes without any ties as he’s flushed with anger and toss them aside somewhere.

Alyssa was staring at both of them with an apologetic look on her face, obviously still embarrassed about sliding in their private elevator. Or maybe her “professional” clothes may have caused her to realise her something.

Nicholas studied her file in the meantime. After a few minutes, he shut it with a slam and narrowed his eyes at her. “Ms Rivers. You’re late.”

She bit her lips “Uhh...Mr Rose, I’m new to this city and underestimated the traffic. I know that’s not a valid excuse so please forgive me”

Adrian glared at his friend. What was he doing?

Nicholas hummed, folding his hands together. “You’re right that’s not an excuse. Anyways would you tell me why you’ve applied for a job that you have no discernible experience? Your resume is very thin in-depth for this job, this company. To be honest, I’m very curious.”

Adrian saw the crestfallen look on her face. He wanted to nudge his friend to go easy on her. From what she said earlier, it seemed like she needed a job. He thoroughly thought that she was going to cower away; instead, she surprised him. The omega smiled as she kept her eyes trained on Nicholas.

“Because I want a challenge and this job is exactly that.”

Nicholas furrowed his eyebrows in surprise. “A challenge? Huh? As in seducing Mr Bellini? If that’s the reason we have interviewed a hundred other applicants with the same purpose and rejected them”

The omegas nose flared, and she curled her lips in disgust. “No offence but I have no idea who Eric Bellini is. My uncle told me he would be the person who can give me a job. That’s why I applied in the first place. Why would I apply for a job to seduce an Alpha I do not know about?”

Adrain should have known when she thought he was Eric. She had no intention of seducing him.

“Mr Rose, I meant a challenge with the company itself. I may not know the owners of BEFORE, but I know the company. Your record label has worlds most brilliant singers signed. Not only that, but you were the first record label company to talk about female omega education and their rights openly and donated the money to charity. That’s why I am eager to work here.”

Adrian has gotten past the pretty blue eyes pink lips inspection to observe all the other little nuances of her personality. The way she carried herself so confidently and didn’t hesitate to speak over an Alpha. It truly made him admire her.

When Nicholas was about to open his mouth to ask more questions, Adrain cut him off. “That’s impressive, Ms Rivers, but we have people who’ve applied who have college degrees in business and several years of practical job experience. Why should we select you for this job?”

She calmly looked back at him. “Yes, I understand that Mr Ferro but do any of those people have flexibility? Can they all handle the crazy work stress that comes with the job? I can! I have dealt with the wild pack and worked with our Pack Alpha to manage his duties. It’s not much I know, but please give me a chance to prove myself.”

Adrain would typically be mad at the interruption yet the way she managed to cut in and be assertive. She’s brash. She’s also bold. Maybe she’s exactly what Eric needs as well.

“Okay, Miss Rivers, we will get in contact with you soon.”
