Chapter 3

Cole

She ran away!? What just happened? My mate just ran from me! I had waited 11 years for her to run away.? No way in hell! I shift back and let Dante take control. He can sniff her out. It must have been ten miles we ran before we see a small campfire and a makeshift shelter. This is where she is living. It must be. I hear her rustling inside the shelter, and decide it is best to shift back. I crouch and peak my head in to see the most beautiful women. Her pale skin is covered in dirt, and her sandy blond hair is a tangled mess. None the less she is beautiful.

“I found you” I say as she whips her head around. “What are you doing?” What the hell? I sound like an idiot. I just chased her, and then intruded into where she is living. She must think I am one weird dude.

“Um, Hello, can I help you?”

Is she fucking kidding me?! Hello, I’m your mate. I want to meet you. You ran away. You rub against me. Then I shift, and you run from me. And all you say is Hello!?

“Can I talk with you?” She nods and starts to crawl out of her shelter. As I look around, I can see she has a few clothes here and there, but she doesn't have much. She crawls out and stands up. Oh, Goddess wow this beautiful creature is my mate.

The first thing I notice are her eyes. They look like black spheres against the whites of her eyes. Her skin is so white it almost looks like it has a glow about it. Like she is translucent and reflecting light threw her. Beautiful, I think to myself. Even here in the dirt and grime she is stunning.

She has a few small moles on the sides of her face and down her neck. Her hips are wide, and her jeans hug her body in all the right places. Her breasts are round and large. I can see her nipples poking through in her oversized black long sleeve.

This amazing she wolf has dirty blond hair. Whether or not it looks to be sandy in tone due to dirt or its natural color I have no idea, but I can tell it is messy. Then I notice her height. She is quite tiny. She must think I’m a giant.

No wonder she ran from me. She must have been scared. There she was just trying to eat. Then I come along, and shift into a giant. So, my tiny mate gets scared and books it. I’m still staring at her. Even in her disheveled state she is the most beautiful women I have ever set eyes one.

She still has blood from her kill on her, and I like it. Seeing her in this mess makes me think she is truly a diamond in the rough. It's like I'm here to rescue her from this life of hardship and give her a home, but I need to not get ahead of myself.

“Umm, hello again” Her voice is angelic. How can saying hello make my world shift. I don’t know if I should run up wrap her in my arms. Maybe I should just grab her and start kissing her right away. I don’t know. I defiantly need to get a grip. Thoughts are racing through my head of all the ways I could take her.

The urge to mark her and make her all mine is extremely strong, but I need to slow down and look at this situation clearly. I am an Alpha, and I cannot make rash decisions. That would be bad for the pack. My pack. I take a deep breath and look around.

I pause a moment to take in our surroundings and I get a faint smell of dirt and grime in the air. What is that smell? It’s so small I can barely smell it. Then the realization hits me. She is a rogue. Holy hell my mate is a rogue! Why is she a rogue? My mate is a rogue!

Her being a rogue is probably why it took me so long to find her no doubt? That or because she is young. I can see that. She is young, and tiny, and beautiful, and a rogue. Why would the Goddess pair an Alpha with a rogue? There has to be more to it than just that.

I can't just take her home and make her Luna. I know nothing of my mate. My rogue mate. This is not something that really happens though. Definitely something new. This will definitely be a challenge. Thinking we may not be able to be together alone makes me whimper.

I don’t want to live without my mate with me. I have been waiting so long for her and she is here now. I don’t care that she is a rogue. I do know it will make things challenging. Especially if she is a criminal. Being Alpha means I have an obligation to the pack.

I can't just bring someone dangerous into the territory. I have to make sure that she is a rogue for a good reason. But what would be a good reason. People don’t just decide one day they want to live all alone in the woods. It doesn’t happen for werewolves.

We are designed to live with others. Lone wolfs tend to go feral when left on their own for too long. It's not a pleasant process but that is what happens when you live outside of a pack. You become dangerous and usually become crazy. We usually have to put the rogues down that cross into our territory because of the danger they pose.

I don’t need to think about that now. I refuse to think of having to reject my mate. Right now, everything is fine. I'm far from my pack and I am looking at the Moon Goddess’ finest work. No one is around to tell me this is a tough situation. No one in this moment can make me question this bond.
