Laurel nervously adjusted her work suit skirt, which was slightly wrinkled. The transportation she was riding was so crowded that Laurel's appearance was not as neat as when she left earlier. Now here she stands, in the lavish lobby of this company with obvious hesitation and anxiety.

I made the mistake of coming here, this is not my place.

Laurel wiped the sweat off her forehead as the friendly receptionist smiled at her, inviting her to come over. “Is there anything I can help?” The receptionist probably felt sorry for Laurel's nervousness and confusion in such a misplaced place.

“Er, this.” Laurel brings out the interview summons she received yesterday. She took it out delicately as if it were a precious treasure and showed it to the receptionist. “I got an interview call at this company today.”

The receptionist accepted it and frowned, she was an experienced employee and knew that this summons was no joke, sent directly by the owner's secretary. Even signed by their owner. This is no joke, this is an important letter.

“Hold on, I'll call.” The receptionist's friendly and pitiful attitude immediately took a serious turn and she left Laurel to make a call.

Laurel's heart immediately skipped a beat, bad thoughts immediately hit her, was she wrong? Was the letter a fake letter, maybe just a joke to prank Laurel? Jeez! Why had she never thought about that possibility? Laurel looked around nervously, will she be kicked out? Will she be humiliated?

It felt like a long time when the receptionist finally came back from behind. She had managed to control herself, apparently, her friendly smile was back. “The interview will take place on the fifth floor, I will ask our officers to accompany you upstairs.”

An officer appeared out of nowhere and accompanied Laurel into the elevator to the fifth floor. “Come, miss, please sit there first, I will announce your arrival.”

Laurel sat on the sofa, still frowning, announcing his arrival? Why it seemed as if she was the anticipated guest and not one of the prospective employees who were about to take the test? And where are the others?

Laurel looked around the lonely surroundings, expecting to be interviewed with other prospective employees, but it turned out that she was alone.

“Please miss. He is pleased to meet you.”

Still wondering, Laurel walked into the room, a small meeting room that might be used to interview prospective employees.

A very elegant and beautiful woman was waiting there, beautiful as a model. Her face is very exotic like a Latin woman, with her office suit that looks expensive and stylish. “Good afternoon, have a seat,” he muttered flatly.

Laurel awkwardly sat across from the woman.

“I am Aamber, Human Resource Manager at this company, maybe you are wondering why you can get a call at this company. We get a recommendation from your university, that you are the best graduate there.”

Apparently Aunt Sarah's words had some truth, she was summoned because of a recommendation from her college.

“Well, the job that will be offered to you is the core staff of the board of directors. I mean, you will work as a direct subordinate to our owner.”

Laurel's brain was pinched, Directors Staff? Why for a position as important as the staff of directors, this company takes a new graduate like her? Isn't it common for a company to take on and promote its long-serving employees to promotion? But the questions in Laurel's brain were immediately ignored as she tried to concentrate fully on the official interview that the beautiful Human Resource Manager was starting to conduct.

The interview was long and so official, Laurel answered everything she could. After the final question has been answered, Mrs. Aamber (Laurel called her "Mrs." considering her position. When viewed from her age, Mrs. Aamber is still very young, young and beautiful) was silent for a long time and stared at the notes on her desk.

The woman then looked at Laurel for a long time as if she wanted to read Laurel's heart. “If you are accepted, how soon can you start working for our company?”

Laurel stuttered, not expecting to be asked that straightforwardly. Usually they would greet you, then said they would do an evaluation and would call sometime later, right? “I can anytime,” Laurel replied quickly.

Mrs. Aamber nodded her head. “You're accepted, I want you to be ready and start working next Monday. Is it enough time to prepare everything? In three days?”

Laurel nodded her head even though it still felt like a dream. “It is enough. I will prepare.”

Mrs. Aamber stood up and could not help Laurel get up too, the woman then greeted Laurel with a strange smile. “Good luck in this company.” She then let go of hee hand and stepped out. “See you again, you can go out alone, right?” and with a quick, resolute pace, as resolute as she carried on, she left Laurel alone.

Leaving Laurel still rooted in the center of the room, holding back the strong urge to pinch herself. Is the process really this fast? Was she dreaming?
