Alpha of Alpha's

The sun is high, glowing and sharing its warmth to the earth. Sweat drips down my face, my mouth open getting in huge puffs of air. My morning run helps clear my mind off last night’s nightmare. My family that I killed coming back to haunt and torture me in dreams is something I need to get rid off.

Running back to the packhouse, I see Elriam smiling, waiting with a towel in hand.

“Good morning Alpha, how was your run today?” She asks politely.

“Great thankyou Elriam.”

I don’t run with wolves unless it is necessary like hunting, I prefer to run alone. “Is everything set and ready for us to leave?” I ask her wiping the sweat off my chest.

“Yes Alpha, we may leave now.” She waits for my answer. “Alright I will shower and get ready, then we can leave.”

Keeping my bag next to me, I put my shades on and start the car driving first while my Beta and warriors follow me at the back. The drive takes about three hours including three stops for food and toilet breaks. Reaching the mansion I get down from the car waiting for my wolves to get ready and follow.

The air is filled with testosterone of Alpha males talking with one and another holding their Lunas. The chatter comes to a complete stop with an eerie silence as they regard me with surprised, disgusted and calculating eyes. They know me, they know of my battles and the strength I possess.

Straightening my back, holding my chin out showing dominance I walk through the crowd right into the hall of seats for the main Alphas and plop down on the chair next to the head of the table. Elriam stands behind me showing her strength looking from one alpha to another. I smile wickedly to the Alphas and whisper to Elriam “This is going to be fun.”

Slowly the hall begins to fill in, each one holding different expressions as they regard me and for any, that looks longer my wolf growls and paces. Unfamiliar faces build up my anxiety to be in crowds and among people. I take in deep breaths thinking I can do this asking my wolf for her strength and support.

A male’s voice booms across the hall making our ears perk up. “Welcome Alphas. The meeting will commence shortly, he is not yet here therefore we shall begin when he arrives. I don’t understand who this male is talking about. Looking to my left I notice the seat is empty.

“Elriam answer me this, who is this male talking about? Is this wolf important?” I keep questioning her.

“Alpha he is...” she starts.

A loud slam of the main door cuts her off startling all of us. Footsteps walking towards the hall, the sound of chairs screeching against the floor, Alphas and Lunas getting off their chairs kneeling on the floor with their heads bowed. Who is this male? What kind of power does he hold that even pregnant females bow even before he is in their presence? These questions linger in my mind.

The door to the hall opens, the smell it gives way saturates the air making my knees tremble, bones weak, my body sways side to side. A figure comes into view and all of my soul calls out to him, my wolf pacing, wanting to get out. His body oozing testosterone and dominance built to be the strongest. This male is mine, this male holds all my attention. No! No! I cannot believe this, he couldn’t be... could he?

I slowly inspect him from his shoes, up to his strong thighs over his tight shirt that shows a delicious preview of what is hidden, to his bulky arms, sharp and high cheekbones, his full lips and finally his eyes.

Our eyes meet and the world stops. An instant lust takes over, my core wet wanting this male between them. He smells the room, his nose sniffing to figure out my scent. He takes a step towards me, I gasp. He shakes his head and steps back. No wolf saw our exchange heads bowed. His hands turn to fists and his voice thunders in the hall making a few wolves whimper.

“Why aren’t you kneeling female?.” He questions, his voice hard and cold. I am pulled out of my trance by his tone.

“I bow to no one but the moon.” I reply back. His hands shake eyes furious, his wolf wanting to come to the surface to punish for disobedience. But he calms down.

“You will learn, I will show you your place.”

His eyes wander to the wolves bowed down. “Rise”, he commands and all the wolves jump to their feet. And the discussion commences at once. I try hard to pay attention to what’s going on but the male sitting next to me at the head of the table takes up my thoughts.

His scent wrapping around me, his body filling me with lust and his cold eyes staring at me. And so I stare back at him. I am no shy wolf I do and take what I want. He slowly looks down my body eyes darken, he clutches onto his chair, knuckles turn white and his pants tighten showing the length of him. Saliva pools in my mouth wanting a taste of what’s before my eyes. My wolf agrees. His jaw clenches and he looks away. I don’t, I like watching this specimen.

“Alpha Deimos, we want protection from the Japanese pack they want war.” One of the Alpha speaks out. So, Deimos is his name. I want to say it out loud how it feels coming from my mouth and his reaction to it.

“Come to my office later, we shall discuss this in private.” His voice turns me on, I want him to call my name. He notices this.

The meeting comes to an end and wolves begin to disperse. Not me, I need to talk to this male, about what this thing between us.

“Alpha we must leave, it is time to return.” Elriam whispers to me. I ignore her, my eyes searching for Deimos. I do not understand how could he disappear he was just here.

“Elriam who is Deimos? Is he an Alpha?” My curiosity taking control of me.

“He is not just an Alpha, he is the Alpha of Alpha’s.” My eyes grow wide, something like that existed. My body trembles. What has the moon blessed me with?

As I leave the mansion, my eyes continuously wander among wolves searching for him. Disappointment clouds me. When mates find each other don’t they run into each other's arms, talk or at least smile. But this male that is supposed to be mine disappears into thin air. I get into my car with a heavy heart and drive to my pack, my wolves follow. I keep thinking of today’s events the weight of my thoughts crushing me. What I failed to notice before I left was a pair of cold eyes looking at me from the balcony window.

The drive back to my pack seems shorter this time and my heart is wary with the increasing distance between Deimos and me. Deimos, my gift from the moon. What does he think about me? Am I exactly what he dreams about? Am I what he wants? These thoughts take up my mind, not wanting to think too much about him I open the window to get some fresh air to cool my hot body that heats instantly with the thought of him.

Seasons pass, summer turns to winter. Soft white blankets of snow cover the land of my pack. I don’t go searching for him and he does the same with me. Perhaps this is for the best. I don’t need him, I have my pack to take care of. A queen can rule better without her king, her word has power and strength.

Searching for Deimos sitting in my office, only to receive a blank page to his name. Who is this wolf? How can there not be even a single bit of information about him? This sparks curiosity within me. “Alpha, it is time for our females to birth their pups.” Elriam says entering the office.

“Send for the healer and prepare the birth house.” I command rushing out of my office, running to the birth house. The sound of screams and pups bawling hurts my ears, pregnant females lying on beds trying to overcome the pain of contractions. Their blood splattered across the white sheets of the beds.

“Please help me.” A female’s voice catches my attention, I notice no wolf helping her, all of their hands full with the other females. I walk up to her looking over, noticing the pup’s head slowly trying to come out, catching hold of the pup.

“Push, you are almost there.” She screams her pain and her eyes glaze over, tears leaking waiting for death to take her.

“No! Listen to me don’t give up, your mate is waiting to hold you and your pup, if you give up your pup will die. Look at me.” She slowly opens her eyes looking at me. Sweat coats her forehead. “One last push, do your best and you can hold your pup in your hands.” She screams the sound of her pup bawling brings life to the birth house. I put the cleaned pup in the female’s hands, he snuggles to her chest mouth searching for milk.

“Thank you Alpha.” The female’s voice cracking.

My eyes soften. “Keep him safe.”

Walking back to my house, my walk is interrupted with Elriam running towards me gasping for breath. “Alpha, we have intruders. They don’t seem like rogues, I feel them emitting high power. They seem dangerous we must take our warriors.” I snarl, my wolf wants nothing but to kill. Who dares enter my territory without permission. I will kill them all. Running to the gate by the border, I see unfamiliar wolves growling awaiting my arrival. My warriors behind me snarling, puffing up ready for a fight.

“How dare you enter my territory? Do you wish for your deaths? Answer me, what is the reason for this and perhaps my warriors will show you mercy.”

“You.”

The voice takes me off- guard. I know this voice. He strides forward from the shade of trees that hid him from me. He was watching me, my reaction to this. Testing my strength. His wolves give way to him moving to both sides to give him way. I just stand there, my mouth is turning dry. I can’t speak. I can’t breathe.

“Deimos.” I whisper, my throat parched. Licking my lips I question him. “Why are you here?” His stare weakens my knees, my heart beating faster, skipping beats. He folds his hands near his chest, my eyes watch the flex of his muscles wondering what it would feel like to be held by them.

“I don’t like to repeat myself.” His voice emotionless.

“What do you want with me?” Chin raised, back straightened I ask him just like an Alpha should. His scrutinizing stare tells me he can see right through my act of strength I am trying to portray to him. He can see he is becoming my weakness.

“I am here to take you and your pack.” A loud laugh booms around us, birds fly from trees startled by the sound. The laughter comes from my throat.

“That was quite funny Alpha Deimos. And what made you think I will do as you please.” My wolf trying to figure out who to support. Me or her mate. He walks towards me, my warriors growl showing teeth ready to fight for their Alpha. I put my hand up immediately silencing them, curious to see what this male is going to do. He stands in front of me slowly leaning to my ears. His breath brushing the shell of my ears. My hands shake eager to touch his skin.

“I heard your females delivered pups today, I will start with them.” He whispers to me. Fury ignites my body. I take steps back closer to my warriors. Who does this male think he is? Is he not my moon blessed? He would kill his mate’s pack? My body begins to shake, my wolf wants his throat. We will always protect our pack, even from our so-called mate.

“You come to my kingdom and you threaten their queen?.” I scream pointing at my pack. “This will not end well, it will end in war and chaos.” My wolf showing her presence, she agrees. He smiles a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. It’s sadistic, he likes my idea.

“Look at your warriors, now look at mine.” He says while raising his hand. With a flick of his wrist, more warriors flood into my pack land standing behind their Alpha. The amount of warriors I have is nothing compared to his. It will cause loss and destruction. My wolf disagrees, she believes our warriors. She thinks we can take them. I look towards my pack, females holding their newborn cuddled under the protective arms of their mates. Can I do this? Can I put them in harm's way knowing the end result as an Alpha?

“So tell me mate.” Loud gasps are heard around the field. “Do you think this should end in war and chaos?” He asks quoting my words, knowing very well how exactly I feel at the moment.
