2. Meeting The Unknown

"Do you think they will interfere ?" Christian asked while Nicholas pondered over his question, his brows furrowing. He glanced down at the fragile girl, now sleeping soundly in Christian's arms. She had passed out almost three yours before once she found the comfort and trust in the men. Though it baffled Nicholas how she easily trusted them after being on the verge of death because of his species.

"They can, plus it might be intimidating for her as well. Also Dad might not really approve of us entering the city like this. He sent us out to get the job done but we rather returned with a stray human," Nicholas replied pointing towards Immery and then looking back at the enormous city in front of his eyes. Christian immediately gave him a long disappointing look to which Nicholas casually shrugged. High raised buildings with tall black gates and a large castle could be seen from the outside. He was always the more thoughtful one. Christian's nose crunched but still nodded. They walked towards the woods once again, deviating from the concrete path to the mud ones.

"Let's go to my pack house then ? Dad has no control over there mostly and we will have privacy too ? We can stay and think over there what to do next ?" Christian suggested looking ahead. Nicholas nodded for he knew that he had no better idea.

They silently walked through the forest road, mushy forest floor, the gentle whistling of the wind and soft coos of the birds humming in their ears.

In less than a minute they reached a bordered area, which looked like an entrance of another place but this time in place of concrete was soil and muddy houses. The area was located in the lap of the nature at the base of a gigantic mountain.

"Your people hate me coming here, do you really think its a good idea ?" Nicholas asked, trying to not catch attention of any of the residents or the guards. His form showed hints of stress as his claws slowly emerging.

Christian sighed before pulled up Immery a little bit, even though he has enhanced muscular power holding her for over five hours had gotten his arms numb and sore.

"My arms are paining man," Christian whined as he tried keeping her balanced while Nicholas gave out a laugh.

"Arn't you the "more stronger one" ?" Nicholas let out a sarcastic laugh as he quoted the words in the air.

"Just hold this girl for a little bit and it will be all fine. They don't hate you Nick they just despise all vampires in general," He spoke as a matter of fact before tossing Immery to him, catching him off-guard, his audible grasp waking up Immery from her sleep.

Her eyes went round as she came in contact with Nicholas's cold body, contrasting from Christian's warm one. Nicholas set her on the ground, still holding her arm to ensure that she doesn't fall.

"Where are we ?" She asked looking around, she was visibly confused to be such a odd place but her mind was focussing more on the fact that she comfortably slept in the arms of a complete stranger, for she was able to do so even back in her town without nightmares and sweat breakouts.

"Somewhere. Safe," Nicholas replied sternly, his voice cold and his eyes not leaving hers as she stared back at them until Christian's sigh reached their ears.

"We are at my place human," Christian answered, his voice and tone welcoming and warm, contrasting his brother in all ways.

Immery looked around eagerly after hearing him, her heart was beating faster for she knew she wasn't around humans yet she felt safer for she was betrayed by her own race more than others.

"Can you walk ?" Nicholas asked her for he did not really want to enter the town with her in any of their arms. Immery nodded as she tested her legs, now just feeling sore and much better than last night. Nicholas let go of his hold on her to check if she was actually fine.

"Great. So let's get going. I am starving, let's go in faster. Human stay close," Christian exclaimed rubbing his stomach before ruffling Immery's head as Nicholas nodded.

They walked together towards the gate. Nicholas and Immery walking a step back from Christian. Nicholas was holding Immery's arm protectively, he did not know why but it felt right for him to do so.

Christian was immediately greeted by the guards, bowing to him with respect. Around four other tall and harnessed men running towards them to immediately shield around them.

"Welcome back Alpha, we hope you had a good journey," they spoke in unison while Christian nodded with a smile where in Immery's eyes widened as she fixed her gaze on him, shocked and bewildered. She couldn't guess at all that he was wolf shifter, she did hear about them but never seen them. Werewolves were not much around in her native place, they like being around the nature more, mountains and forests attracted them more.

Nicholas had a amusing look on his face as he glanced to see Immery's reaction. She stayed rooted to the ground to the point that Nicholas had to break her trance and drag her with him as they all started walking towards the pack house.

If Christian being a werewolf was not enough intimidating and shocking for her, him being the Alpha was definitely. While she did not have a clear idea of that title, she knew by the attention and he was getting right now meant something of power.

He looks so much different than a person of authority, she thought as she almost ran to keep up with all of their pace.

"She seems to have taken a keen interest in you Chris," Nicholas snikered as they entered the private wing of the pack house, which was all for Christian. The guards had left with another bow and order from Christian to bring them food.

Christian turned towards the now exploring Immery with a smirk, sending his brother a look. He sniffed the air once to make sure that she was comfortable in the room and that there was no fear lingering on her.

"You look like you could use a bath," Christian said after he finished sniffing her as she took a step back in shock. Not every day did she have a literal werewolf sniffing her.

Nicholas let out a laugh at the seen before him, as she looked at the girl before him turn beetroot red in embarrassment.

"Do you know how to work a shower ?" Nicholas asked the obvious question to her, which sounded quite dumb to her.

I was abandoned not dumb, she thought in her mind but rather decided to voice it out for he's a vampire and might literally bite her if he gets angry. And she certainly did not want that.

"Uh Yeah I do," she answered, Nicholas nodded to her while eyeing Christian to let him know to guide her in their. Being brothers they were connected in every external way possible along with having a mind linking capability.

"Great, I will show you the wash room and in the mean time lay out some fresh clothes for you to wear," Christian told as she nodded walking a step behind him, still sceptical of the guys being this good to her. It was honestly a very strange situation for a human to be, surrounded by two extremely attractive creatures who were also brothers.

"Don't forget to return back my dress jacket, its my favourite," she heard Nicholas's voice from behind while Christian shook his head with a laugh.

"He likes his stuff very much," Christian replied as he lead her to the washroom, which was rather a large room, with cold and dry pools, aromatic scents clouding with the steam warming the room up. Immery took in a sudden gulp of air as the werewolf's eyes set on her, his demeanour changing as he subconsciously raised his hand, through the corner of her eye she noticed it as her heart beat started rising, not knowing what was about to happen, but quickly set it down shaking his head as he closed his eyes for a second before dashing out of the place, leaving Immery all confused.

Christian quickly made his way to his brother, huffing and trying to catch his breath while Nicholas casually stared at him.

Christian took deep breaths to calm himself down faster as he spoke the next words catching his brother's attention.

"I-I think we found what we were l-looking for."
