3. Going Feral

"I did notice, I just didn’t comment because I wasn't sure. Or maybe I did not want it to be true," Nicholas matched his emotions, not really knowing what else to say. He had a ghostly expression on his face, lost in thoughts and possibilities.

The brothers stared at the direction of the bath room, in a hope that they would find answers. It was a moment of extreme overwhelming feeling for them for it was an unknown territory of emotion that they never felt.

"We practically searched for her in the entire continent but got her literally in our hands when we lost all hope ?" Christian questioned, laying in front of his brother the frustration that he was feeling.

Nicholas got up from the recliner he was resting on as he moved towards his brother, not really knowing how to take the entire situation.

"We should be happy Chris," he told her, trying his best to smile to which Christian just gave him an annoyed look.

"I know, but the consequences are bad," he quickly replied trying to not let his mind linger on the fantasies of how beautiful can life be with a mate, with his mate.

Nicholas nodded as he felt uneasy from all the happenings, his gums itching with the lack of blood since the last couple of hours. Vampires had to drink fresh blood periodically to avoid getting the feral instincts and it had been over twenty-four for him with no blood. His skin had gotten paler and it was few moments before the blood lust kicks in.

"Hey you look bad.Wait. Shit ! You need blood. Let me get it for you," Christian panicked as he looked as his older brothers condition. He was about to dash out when Nicholas stopped him and shook a "no."

"What ?"

"You are the Alpha here, its demeaning on your part just get one of the workers," Nicholas suggested as he felt his condition worsening.

"You are my brother, nothing is more important than your health and certainly not a title," Christian answered drawing back his hands and lightly pushing Nicholas aside, shaking his head as the loose blonde mess on his head landed straight on his face. He dashed out hurriedly after this. He always kept storage of blood bags in the freezer for Nicholas to avoid situations like these.

Immery walked back into the room, her hair wet as she adjusted the new fresh clothes that she was wearing. It was a pair of baggy jeans and a tee that perfectly fit her.

It was certainly creepy for her to have a complete stranger guess her size correctly, maybe being a werewolf just give them those powers ? She liked to think it that way.

She halted in her position as soon as she spotted Nicholas, in a very bad condition with his hands grabbing onto the wall, which was on the verge of breaking while a painful shriek left his mouth. He hadn't still noticed Immery but the smell of fresh blood hit him like a slap immediately making him turn towards the source.

Immery was rooted to the ground. Praying that what she was thinking is wrong and that she is really safe. No voice came out of her mouth as she took a step back, terrified to see how different Nicholas looked right now, so much different from earlier, his calm composed self gone replaced with a rent less looking Vampire who was out for blood. His warm green-emerald eyes now turned to slits, giving him a haunting look.

Nicholas look a step in her direction, his gums itching more as his fangs enlarged. He was in a haze, in his feral predatory posture while poor Immery was the prey with no where to run. His mind was not thinking straight, all his feral self wanted was to take what could immediately stop all the pain.

She eyed the exit door, thinking of making a run, yet she knew that trying it would worsen the situation for he was a Vampire who could easily catch her and rather harm her more in the chase for their feral side loved the chase.

"What's your blood type ?" Nicholas asked, his voice deep and hoarse as his inner self got shocked of the question. Immery looked troubled, she tried to remember what he asked for the situation she was in made her forget how to think correctly.

"Uh...B-B Negative ?" She answered, unsure and her eyes focusing on the floor, in an attempt to shoo away the blood thirsty vampire in front of her.

She heard a slurping sound coming from Nicholas as he stared at her with an intense intent, almost as a person watches their next meal.

"Ah..my favourite," Nicholas have a fanged smile to her, taking a step in her direction, reaching her effortlessly. Immery was already shaking, scared of what was approaching when Nicholas caught her by her arm and pulled her onto him, making her land hard on his chest, Nicholas bent down breathing her in as her heart beat quickened with both the proximity with the vampire in front of her and the uncertainty of what was about to happen next.

She did not know what to make out of his statement that her blood type was his favourite, it couldn't mean any good for her. He's going to suck me dry, she thought in her mind.

Nicholas's hold on her tightened as he dipped his face into her neck, finding her pounding artery on instinct, earning a loud grasp from Immery which made him halt in his position. It was painful as well as impossible for a blood thirsty vampire to stop, when the source was right in front and defenseless yet he stopped. She already had an effect on him.

On his mind.

He completely withdrew himself from her, shocking her even more. She could see he was hurting, on the very verge of breaking down completely yet he was holding back. He quickly covered his mouth with his palm, shaking his head profusely rejecting himself from taking her blood. Not like this, never like this, he told himself.

"Damn it ! Nick here catch this and leave her ! You human come to me !" Christian entered the room, tossing over the blood pouch to Nicholas which he caught effortlessly and tore it up to hurriedly gulp down the contents while Christian reached to Immery's side and pulled her towards him. Immery clutched onto Christian as strongly as possible, yet her eyes never left Nicholas for she was worried for him. She did not know why but she wanted Nicholas to overcome the pain as soon as possible.

"He did save me from dying in the forest which is why I want him to be fine," was the only explanation she could give herself in her mind.

"Are you fine ? I am....sorry," Nicholas took a break from drinking his blood as he threw the fourth empty pouch, his voice exhausted and full of guilt as his brows twitched with the painful thought that he could have hurt her, gravely.

Immery did not know what to answer, nor how to react for she was still shocked. Christian's hand stroked her back warmly, calming her down subconsciously as Nicholas gulped down another pouch, his skin gaining back its lost colour as he looked much more healthier.

"Yeah..." she answered as she finally felt assured that she won't be harmed and that it was just a bad situation.

"Thanks Chris for bailing me out today," Nicholas said with a grateful sigh while Christian just shrugged.

"Exactly why I do not care about your shitty norms, a second late and you fangs would be in this ones neck," Christian answered boasting his act while Immery visibly tensed thinking that it could have really happened but she did see Nicholas holding back, greatly so.

"Nahh..I stopped. Even in my worst state I have a better control than you Chris," Nicholas answered with a smirk as he threw the empty pouches in the dust bin, walking over to them.

"Did he really stop ?" Christian asked turning towards Immery with a questioning look as Nicholas stared back at her.

"Yeah..," she replied much to the satisfaction of the vampire as a deep grumbling purr resonated from his chest.

"Don't become a cat now Nick please," Christian made a funny face hearing it while Immery stared fascinated, she had never before heard the purr of a vampire and it was oddly satisfying.

"Don't be jealous that you can't do it lil bro," Nicholas slapped Christian's shoulders with a short laugh as he slapped off his hand.

"Respected Alpha, the food is ready," one of the workers knocked the door and informed from the other side before leaving them in privacy.

Immery's stomach immediately grumbled at the mention of food, which was greatly lacking in her system for now, the funny sounds of her stomach immediately reached the ears of both the creatures making them eye each other with a laugh, making Immery embarrassed immediately.

"Let's get some food in that hungry tummy shouldn't we ?" Christian asked pointing towards her stomach.

"I can't have food now but can surely accompany you guys, also wait ! What's your name ?" Nicholas asked as the most obvious question came into his mind. She had been with them for almost more than twelve hours now yet they did not know her name.

Christian too looked curious, feeling foolish to have forgotten the most simple question.

Immery looked up at both the creatures in front of her, looking at her intently with curious eyes.

"Immery..," she whispered out her name, the room filling with a instant purr from the vampire in front of her while the werewolf's eyes darkened in response, turning a deep shade of red, displaying his Alpha eyes.
