6. LUCAS: NOT PART OF THE PLAN

Kissing her was not part of the plan!

I sneered as I paced back and forth in the stairwell. My clothes were dripping wet but I couldn’t go home to change. He called in sick because he was suffering from a hangover.

I licked my lips and instantly regretted it because I tasted her again.

A shudder raced down my spine.

Revenge was mine to take. I had big plans for the twins and I wasn’t going to allow anybody else to ruin them. If I hadn’t blocked her body with mine, they would’ve seen her.

Just the thought of another boy lusting after her body made me angry.

But I shouldn’t have kissed her.

I leaned against the wall and squeezed my eyes closed.

It wouldn’t happen again.

Fuck! I wanted to. I wanted to fucking kiss her again. She tasted so sweet.

Another shudder raced down my spine. Reaching up, I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and straightened. I needed to focus on the plan but before I could set part two in motion, I needed to change into dry clothes and I knew exactly who to go to.

It wasn’t Oliver who opened the door. I frowned at his little brother as he continued to stare at me with something close to fear in his eyes.

“Where’s your brother?” I asked him as I pushed him aside to enter the apartment.

“H-he’s in the shower.”

“Go get him.”

I dropped my bag onto the couch and turned to face him. He swallowed loudly and slowly inched backwards. When he reached the door, he spun around and disappeared into the room.

The faint click of the lock sliding into place made me smirk.

“Fucking pussy,” I muttered under my breath.

My eyes darted around as I waited for them. The apartment was small but extremely neat. It looked uninhabitable but I knew otherwise because their scent coated every inch of the place.

I also knew that they had weapons hidden within easy reach all over in case they were ever under attack.

Oliver walked out of the room a few minutes later, dripping wet and with a towel around his hips.

“I need dry clothes.”

“Make yourself at home, why don’t you?” he muttered sarcastically. “Conner, go get our guest some of your clothes.”

Conner’s eyes darted from mine to his brother and then dropped to the floor. He hesitated again before he spun around and disappeared down the hall.

Oliver glanced over his shoulder to make sure his brother was out of earshot before he spoke. “I. . .met one of them yesterday. It’s hard to believe that she can fucking turn into a hairy beast. She’s a small but pretty little thing.”

“Which one?” I asked him.

He smirked. “The red head. She took off running before I could introduce myself.” His smirk faded and a familiar light entered his eyes. “It would be easy to snap her little neck.”

I sneered at him. “You stick to the plan.”

“Your plan is boring. We need to teach these fucking animals a lesson before they take over our world.”

I moved towards him and stopped when we were nose to nose. “You stick to the fucking plan. You don’t change it, improvise or do anything other than what I fucking tell you do to, is that clear?”

He stared at me silently for a few seconds. Oliver’s lips twitched and in the next second he pulled a knife from underneath the towel. He smirked when he pressed the tip of the knife to my neck.

My smirk matched his. “Do you think you’ll be able to achieve what you want to without my help?”

Oliver pressed the knife tighter to my skin. A second later I could feel a drop of blood slowly roll down my neck. I waited a beat and then reached up to grip his wrist and spun him around.

Within two seconds our positions changed. I had him in a choke hold with the knife pressed to his own neck.

“Don’t underestimate me, Oliver. We both know that I could easily kill you,” I muttered against his ear. “Not today, though, but do anything to them without my permission and I won’t hesitate to kill you.”

She never showed up for any of her classes. The same happened on the second day. I even went to the showers in hope of catching her there. For a moment I feared that Oliver had disobeyed my orders but I knew he wouldn’t be so stupid.

On the fourth day when I glanced up from the desk, I saw her hovering in the doorway. My eyes quickly darted over her, searching for any signs of injuries. Her skin was still deadly pale and void of bruises.

Ariana looked like any other student at first glance but upon closer inspection you’d notice how tightly she was clutching the straps of her bag. You’d notice the way her eyes darted around nervously and the slight tremble of her lips.

Lips that tasted so sweet.

I forced my feelings down and dropped my eyes to the papers in front of me. My lips twitched.

So far everything was working out just as planned.

There was only one free seat and it was right next to me. Ariana had no choice but to take it. I sucked in a breath and instantly regretted it. She smelled just as sweet as she tasted.

From the corner of my eyes I watched her as she slowly pulled her books from her bag. She placed them down one on top of the other, and then pulled out her pencil case and placed it above the books. The last thing she pulled from her bag was a blue eyeglass case.

Slim fingers opened the case and pulled out a pair of black-rimmed glasses. After cleaning the lenses, she placed the glasses on, closed the case and placed it aside.

The silence between us stretched on.

I was waiting for her to bring up the kiss we’d shared in the shower but Ariana remained silent. She wasn’t very talkative, but her sister on the other hand was already well-known around campus. A daredevil, they called her. Eva was always game to try new things.

The twins were total opposites.

It would probably make things a bit more complicated but I’d adjust things if needed.

Swallowing, I took a few seconds to rain in my emotions before I raised my head and looked at her. “You missed class.”

Her eyes snapped over to me and widened. “Y-you!” Ariana gasped.

I smirked. “Me. Have you followed my advice or do you like flashing—”

“It was an accident,” she hissed.

“Was it?”

“Just shut up and leave me alone.”

This was going to be a lot more fun than I’d imagined.

“Where would the fun be in that, my little doll?” I asked her just as the professor entered the room.
