Chapter 6

Dani's POV

"Another country? Try another realm doll... this is Revnok. This is my land." He concludes, causing my eyes to widen.

Everything Lupin said was real...

"Are you... really the King?" I question next, my eyes remaining wide.

"I am... do I not seem fit enough to be?" He smirks, causing me to blush yet again... he seems to have that affect on me I don't know why.

"N-No uh... I was just wanting to clarify things... sorry." I say shyly, watching as he keeps his eyes on the road.

"Next question love?" He glances over at me, catching me staring as I immediately glance away.

"Hm..." I think briefly, I mean I have a million questions but what one do I choose? He surely won't have the patience to answer them all.

"Name?" I ask next, realising that we don't actually know each others names... I mean I was really intrigued because weirdly enough, I was starting to feel a bit comfortable being around him and he did have that man help with my wounds too...

"Not very many people are allowed to call me by my name doll..." I blush again at the sudden nickname... I've never felt like this in my life what is going on!

"Oh..." Is all I can reply, not wanting to offend him when he seems to be in a good mood.

"You however, can call me Axel." He tells me, causing butterfly's to dance around in my stomach from the statement.

I swear... I have felt every emotion humanly possible over the space of 24 hours. This place was really messing up my mind!

Axel... I like it. It suits him.

"You haven't told me yours?" He then questions.

"Oh... sorry... I'm Dani." I state briefly, knowing that it's not the prettiest name in the world.

"Beautiful." He confirms, causing my eyes to widen at the compliment.

I was named Dani because my father always wanted a boy but instead got me so I've always hated it.

But he thinks my name is beautiful? Wow...

"I think you are too." He glances over to me, awaiting a reaction as my mouth falls open and practically hits the floor.

"H-How? Did you just? What?" I babble like an idiot, trying to comprehend that he did, in fact, just read my mind again.

This is all a lot. Like seriously.

"I can read your mind. Everyone could basically read your mind until I blocked them all out for you. Your thoughts were like an open book..." He trails off, leaving me speechless.

I need more than that. I can't just accept this.

"Ok... w-what am I thinking about right now?" I question, before closing my eyes to focus.

Chocolate.

Chocolate.

Chocolate.

"Chocolate." He bites back a laugh whilst trying to keep up his scary demeanour, causing my eyes to snap open in horror at his accuracy.

"You really don't need to focus that much... and can you not be a bit more creative? Challenge me a bit more instead of just chocolate?" He sniggers.

"Fine... Again." I say, thinking up a sentence this time.

If you can really read my mind then you should know that my favourite colour is yellow and that my favourite food is pasta... any kind of pasta it doesn't really matter!

"Favourite colour is yellow and you love any kind of pasta." He smirks proudly, basically repeating my thoughts out loud to me.

What. The. Fuck!!

"Swearing doesn't suit you love." He then states bluntly.

"Ok... c-can you stop it now please! It's creepy." I breathe out, feeling slightly more comfortable in this mans presence after our silly game.

I don't think he plans to hurt me... not yet anyway...

"Fine... what other questions do you have? We will be stopping in an hour for food." He explains, now turning us left and on to a much busier road.

I really was hungry... all the thoughts of pasta wasn't helping either...

When I lived with my father it wasn't rare for me to miss meals. A lot of the time I would be invited to my friends house after school and her Mom would cook for us. Other than those days, I would only ever eat the lunch I got at school.

I missed Lily... I wonder how she is...

Axel clears his throat, bringing me back as I realise he was waiting for my next question.

"Uhhhh... what did you mean that I'm your... uh what was the word you used again? Your..." I trail off, trying to think back to what he called me back in the village.

"Mate?" He finishes, as I nod briefly remembering the word.

"Ok... this will have to be a bit of a long answer..." He begins, glancing at me briefly.

"Since you're coming to terms with being here in Revnok... You must know that there is many different creatures in this world." He glances to me as I nod slowly for him to continue.

"Witches and warlocks are the lowest ranking which means they are the least deadly. They usually work inside different packs and are useful for protection spells and some other stuff... they also make good doctors but they are by far the worst gossips." He continues to explain, as my lips part from the mention of witches and warlocks... this was really hard to believe.

But after all, this man could read my mind so I had to be open now to other possibilities didn't I...

"Then you have the vampires... they are basically known to be a lot more harmful back where you're from. They are usually quite peaceful and they have different systems to help source their blood... they don't just run around draining the life out of everyone... But they will put up a good fight if they get pissed off enough." He laughs slightly at the end.

I briefly remember Lupin mentioning Vampires and other things when I first arrived here... but at the time I really had no clue where I was or what was happening (not that that's changed majorly) but I'm more willing now to try and at least listen.

"Ok so next we have the Demons... that's what your friend back at the marketing house was... if you can even call him a friend since he did sell you to me for money..." He grumbles, causing me to gulp at his truth.

I can't tell yet if coming here with Lupin was really a bad thing or not. So far everything has been fine since we got away from my father but I'm of course still nervous of what's to come...

"Demons are the best scammers if anything... clearly since he managed to get you here... Although I'm thankful that he did I must admit." He states, as I raise a brow now.

"W-What do you mean?" I ask quietly.

"Demons can travel back and forth between different worlds the quickest. They are also the best at hunting down the weak... which I guess is how he found you. I reckon you were in danger yes? Or really upset about something and he offered to help you and take it all away?" He trails off, a look of anger flashing across his features before it soon disappears.

"...Yeah...my father..." I tell him silently after a moment passed.

"We can discuss what happened to you when you're ready to tell me. Plus it will just piss me off when I'm driving... because I can sense that whatever it was... it wasn't good." He states, completely accurate with the statement.

It wasn't good. Anywhere away from that man was an upgrade. I wonder what he will even be doing right now? Probably trying his very best to find me. Let's hope that this is all true and that I actually did somehow manage to disappear to a different world completely...

"Anyway... despite them being master manipulators with extremely bad tempers... some of them have a decent heart deep down and they always have a reason behind the shit that they do. Others though can be trouble... it's about setting apart the good from the bad with the demons..." He again tries to explain as I nod, thinking that I am at least somewhat taking in the information this time around.

"This is crazy..." I mumble without thinking, as he returns a faint smile before looking back at the road.

Not to mention he's been driving at an insane speed this whole time... but I'm trying not to think about it too much as he glides between the other cars on the busy roads.

"You'll learn it all soon enough." He replies as I nod slowly.

I hope so... I hope my mind can catch up with all of this... and fast!

"Next then... we have the werewolves. My personal favourite." He smiles, causing me to offer him a small smile too somehow.

"I guess... th-that's you?" I question, surprised to receive a deep laugh in response.

"Love, let's just say that they are my people." He laughs out slightly, I however, obviously don't get the joke.

"I'm not just a werewolf as such... but I'm the leader of them all. I'm the leader of everyone in this world but the wolves are who mainly populate and help run my kingdom. I trust them the most and they are the most loyal to me as their King and Alpha... Alpha is just another term for King or leader for the werewolves so if you ever hear anyone call me Alpha then that's why." He trails off, watching the roads as he glides us back down on to a quieter road again.

"So... what does that leave you?" I ask, confused at why he laughed when I thought he was a werewolf.

"I mean you weren't completely wrong... but I'm what's known as a Lycan. The strongest and most feared of them all. I'm a mix of both wolf and demon. I also have a stronger mind meaning I can control objects and people... My family are the only Lycan bloodline left which is why we are the rulers here. We are simply some of the strongest and most feared." He tells me this a lot more gently, turning to look for my reaction every once in a while as I just sit and take in what he's saying.

A Lycan? No wonder Lupin was so scared. That sounds terrifying. Yet he didn't seem scary at all sitting here with me...

"You have nothing to worry about doll... you are my mate and therefore that makes you the most protected person alive in this world right now... and to finish off your question, a mate is a soul mate... someone that you are tied to and will be tied to for life... you are now mine and I am yours." He concludes, causing me to close my eyes and take a calming deep breath.

This was some crazy shit...
