Chapter 4: Plan for escape

Chapter 4

She met her fated mate the night she turned eighteen, but she was rejected immediately. After all, how could a Warlock of the Black Magic Coven of his status ever disgrace himself by accepting a lowly mongrel slave as a mate.

At least that was what he said as he rejected her, but honestly…she was grateful for the rejection. Jack was as evil as they came, he was just as sadistic if not more so than Sarah. He took one of her half-sisters as a chosen mate for a while. Until he killed her one night when she pissed him off, now there were just the three, and the fourth one’s name has never been mentioned since the incident.

Rain felt she must have at least some luck to have avoided that fate. It turned out Jack rejecting her was a blessing in disguise, even with the pain breaking that bond had put her through. Turning away from the mirror, Rain’s thoughts turned back to her plans for an escape. Rain had been thinking long and hard about where to take her people once they escaped from the Coven.

While she had been recovering after Sarah had tortured her already weakened body, Rain asked her father about his old Pack. Dominic told Rain about the Moon Mountain Pack, and more specifically Alora. Sarah had ranted endlessly about Alora becoming the Clan Alpha of the Heartsong Clan while torturing Rain. Leading her to believe that she was someone she needed to know more about.

Dominic told her that the Pack itself was not bad, the Frost and the Northmountains were the only corruption in the Pack. Rain was told that if the Pack’s Alpha knew about what happened, there would be retribution for those two Clans.

Then Dominic spoke of the Heartsong Clan. He said, out of all the other Clans out there in any Pack, the Heartsongs had been the ones to accept others of a different species of Supernaturals into their Clan. The Heartsongs were the first to embrace you for your differences, and the first to offer a home for a lost soul, or in the case of those planning to escape with Rain, souls.

When Rain asked him about the Goddess blessing, Dominic told her that the Moon Goddess had a hybrid granddaughter she had given her blessing to, the granddaughter was the daughter of the Heartsong Clan Alpha. The first War that lost the Black Magic Coven their control over the world, was initiated by this Goddess blessed Heartsong.

Every time this Goddess blessed daughter was reincarnated, it was always within the Heartsong Clan in some way. When she was reincarnated, she and her mate would stop the Black Magic coven from reviving and returning to the day they ruled the World.

When Rain was younger, she had become curious about Werewolf History. After all, she was part Werewolf. Lillian had told her about the first Alpha of Alpha’s, that Alpha was a female Hybrid, who had the blessing of the Moon Goddess to go against the Black Magic coven for their evil ways. It was only then that Rain remembered just who that female hybrid was.

Making Rain realize why her mother and the Coven hated this Pack so much, they had expended the effort to start taking it over from the inside. However the Coven had only gotten as far as corrupting the Frost and Northmountain Clans. The Coven was really fond of slowly taking over something, it usually kept others from realizing what was happening until it was too late to do anything about it.

When they escaped, they had to go somewhere, and now that Rain thought about it, the safest place would be among the Heartsongs. Sure…they would be visible to the Coven if they did this, but at the same time, that visibility would be from inside the protection of the Heartsong Clan. The Black Magic Coven’s enemy, one that has successfully suppressed and defeated the Coven over and over again.

With that decision made, Rain started to visualize all the maps she memorized over the years, old and new. The routes were highlighting themselves in her mind, and several were being selected. The Heartsongs didn’t treat Hybrids as slaves or second class citizens. They believed in the strength and appreciated the uniqueness that makes Hybrids a Hybrid.

Rain finished cleaning everything on the floor the mirror had been, and moved on to the floor that held the rooms of her half-sisters. She started cleaning quietly outside one of three large suites given to Rain's sister by their mother. Now that she was here, Sarah now had her own suite on the same floor. Rain made sure to stay as quiet as possible, so she would go unnoticed.

Coincidentally, in this room all three of Rain’s half-sisters, Janice, Bonnie, and Kelly Blackheart were gathered there with Sarah. Inside the room Sarah was leaning against a large antique vanity with a large mirror, the piece was set against the wall to the left of Sarah’s bed. In the mirror behind Sarah, her four poster bed with princess drapes was reflected.

On the bed facing Sarah sat Kelly, standing next to Kelly, leaning against one of the bed posts at the foot of the bed was Janice. Bonnie was leaning against a large wardrobe that was on the wall facing the foot of the bed. The head of the bed was against the hallway wall. On the right wall was another wide dresser only without a mirror, and there was a door on one side leading to an on suite bathroom.

The door to the hallway was to the right side of the bed, and it was cracked open enough that Rain was able to hear every word of their discussion. It was the topic of their conversation that caught Rain’s attention, enough so she did something she knew would only gain her another torture session if caught, she deliberately listened to what they where saying.

The four females were all dressed in their usual style. Janice was wearing a black halter top that exposed her mid section and a pair of ripped skinny jeans with a pair of six inch stilettoes. Her long black hair was bone straight, the ends brushing the belt of her jeans at her hips. It was held back by a black hair band, reveling an exotically beautiful face with sharp cheekbones, a slightly pointed chin, a deep widows peak and big round eyes that tilted up at the corner.

Bonnie was wearing a short sleeved form fitting black dress that had a deep v-shaped neckline that showed her cleavage. The skirt of the dress stopped at her upper thighs, she had black fishnet hose and wore a pair of calf high shiny leather boots with six inch shiny metal stiletto heels. Her black hair was shoulder length and wavy, parted at her widow's peak. Her features like her sisters were nearly identical. Of course they all looked like their mother.

Kelly had waist length curly hair that she had managed to style into what Bonnie called her Sailor Moon look, only her ‘meat balls’ were larger and the hair was curlier. She wore a baggy black t-shirt that was three sizes too big for her, it was a Black Sabbath band t-shirt. With it she wore a pair of tiny black cut off shorts and a black pair of chunky doc marten high tops.

Janice looked at Sarah with her black eyes and reminded her. “Mom said you can’t go after Alora.” Janice’s voice was raspy from years of smoking.

Kelly, seeing the stubborn look on Sarah’s face said “She said you just need to wait for a little while before you can go after her.” Kelly’s words were said in almost a sigh, she sounded bored, her voice flat and monotone.

Bonnie was thinking about something her mother had said to another Witch of the Coven a while back. “But wouldn’t mom be happy with us if we captured Alora and brought her back to the Coven?” She asked in a contemplative tone.

Sarah wondered why that would be, so couldn’t help asking. “Why does the Coven want that whore?” the words said in a snarky tone.

“She’s the reincarnation of the Moon Goddesses granddaughter.” Kelly said in her flat bored tone that sounded like she was sighing at the same time. She said this like it should explain everything to Sarah.

Out in the hallway hidden in the alcove, Rain had her hands over her mouth, to keep her gasp of surprise as the females inside the room discussed Alora. Their words made her fear for the safety of the Alpha Female she was hoping would take her and the others escaping with her in. This solidified Rain's thoughts that she needed to seek Alora out once her and the others escaped.

Sarah was looking at Kelly with an expression that was a mixture of sullen anger and confusion. “What does that have to do with anything?” Her voice was sharp, almost shrill.

Rain was thinking that if you looked up the definition of shrewish, you would find a picture of Sarah. A sadistic, psychotic shrew, that’s the description of Sarah that went through Rain’s mind. This tone of voice also sent a sense of warning down Rain’s spine, because there was a pattern to Sarah’s abuse. The more shrewish she became, the more likely she would seek Rain out for another torture session to vent her anger.
