Chapter 2

*Let's go all the way tonight

No regrets, just love

We can dance, until we die*

I was forced to stop singing along when the music in the car was switched over, and Jason started bobbing his head to the new track instead.

(and i say) hell yeah hell yeah, hell yeah fuckin' right fuckin' right, all right (and we say) hell yeah

I shot him a glare and turned it back.

*You make me feel

Like I'm livin' a

Teenage dream

The way you turn me on*

...

hell yeah, hell yeah fuckin' right fuckin' right, all right

“Do you mind?” I growled, swatting his hand away from the stereo and putting it back to Katy Perry again.

He smirked, something that was becoming pretty regular with him. “Not really.” He changed the radio onto Hyfr by Drake and I groaned loudly, tightening my grip on the steering wheel until my knuckles turned white.

Jason Miller was the biggest pain in my ass ever; I was even considering going to the doctors for some strong aspirin or something, seriously.

It took us longer than I’d hoped to reach the school, but I still managed to park the car in my usual spot which was right in front of the school. It paid off to be popular sometimes.

As soon as we were stationary students I didn’t even know were surrounding the car, bombarding me with questions which mostly concerned Jason. I ignored every single one of them and got out of the car, locking it behind me and walked into school. I didn’t even check to see if Jason was following me; I honestly didn’t care.

I went straight to my locker and pulled out my History book, taking a deep breath while my face was hidden from sight.

“Are you going to show me to the office or not?”

I jumped out of my skin at the close proximity of the voice behind me. I spun around so I could glare at Jason’s awaiting face.

I was about to answer him when the bell did it for me, ringing out loudly across the halls. “Nope,” I said. “Don’t want to be late for class.”

It was my turn to smirk as I walked away from him.

I’d never looked forward to first period so much in my life.

Jason's POV

I narrowed my eyes as I watched Blake walk away, but I still couldn’t help but notice how good she looked in those skinny jeans- wow.

The hallway was almost empty now. The last few kids were scurrying off to their classes, and I was left with no-one to show me where the hell I was supposed to go.

I knew that I could have easily asked the blonde chick that’d just walked past me- it was obvious she was checking me out- but I found myself hoping that I wouldn’t find the office any time soon. That way I wouldn’t have to speak to any stuffy teachers and it would increase the chances of Blake getting in trouble with her dad at home.

But truthfully I didn’t even think I could find the office if I tried. The school was almost as big as my last one, and that was saying something. It didn’t seem too bad here so far, though. I’d seen some pretty hot chicks already, and now I could spend the majority of the day bugging the hell out of Blake- my new favourite hobby.

I didn’t even have to wear a uniform for once, like I had to at almost all of my other schools. My mom thought that they built character. Maybe that was why I’d been suspended five times… My character was just built too damn high for them.

I wandered around aimlessly for a while and decided to go up the closest flight of stairs. Some nerdy guy was going the opposite way so I stopped him once he got close enough. I couldn’t help but smirk when his eyes practically bugged out of his face when I put my hand on his arm. He probably thought I was going to beat him up or something.

I couldn’t blame him for being scared, though. My muscles were pretty impressive; they had to be since I worked out near enough every day. I could beat anyone up if I wanted to, trust me, but I wasn’t the type of person to pound on innocent people- especially when they were weedy bastards like this one.

“Show me where the office is,” I told him as soon as I felt like he wasn’t going to have a heart attack.

“It’s downstairs next to the front doors,” he told me quickly, relaxing a little when he saw that I wasn’t going to break his jaw or something.

“Alright,” I said. I shrugged off my backpack and threw it to him. I laughed when he stumbled backwards a little from the catch. “Come on. I’m Jason, by the way.”

“Dave,” he introduced himself as he trailed after me.

I could definitely get used to this place.

Blake's POV

Ashley had been bouncing up and down in her seat like an excited puppy since we sat down in class.

“I give up,” I said. “What’s got you so fidgety?”

She grinned widely at the opportunity to talk about whatever it was she was about to talk about. “I get to see Jason after this period. It’ll be lunch next and you said before that he hasn’t brought one with him, right? That means he’ll definitely be in the cafeteria.”

I shook my head. “It’s seriously sad that you’ve thought about this so much, Ashley,” I told her. “Jason’s an ass. I honestly don’t see why you’re so obsessed with him.”

I thought that the topic of Jason was over, at least for a while anyway. I should have put more credence in the saying ‘speak of the devil and he shall appear’, though, because that’s exactly what happened.

Jason strolled into the classroom as if he’d been going here all his life and Dave scurried in behind him carrying two backpacks. One of them was Jason’s. My mouth dropped open; that douche was making poor Dave lug his stuff around for him?

Of course he had to prove how much more of a douche he was by catching the eyes of practically everything in the room with a vagina. That included Nicole who was the cheerleader captain, which basically went hand in hand with being the biggest slut of the school. I watched as she stuck out her chest and winked at Jason in an extremely suggestive way- so much to the point it wasn’t even suggestive anymore.

Then a thought hit me… Was Nicole the slut in his room last week? The one he called Jessica? I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true.

He completely ignored her, though, and took a seat at the free desk next to mine. I groaned and Nicole shot me a dirty look from her seat in front of me. I just smiled sweetly and showed her my favourite finger. If there was anything good about Jason coming to my school, it would be that I’d be able to piss Nicole off even more than usual. I expected her to attack me but instead she just smiled back with a malicious look in her eyes.

I was drawn out of my staring match with the head slut when Jason spoke out to me. “Well hello there, princess,” he said, usual smirk in place.

“We had a deal,” I reminded him.

“Yes we did,” Jason agreed. “But it just so happens that you broke yours with daddy dearest since you didn’t show me around the school and ditched me instead.”

“Shut up,” I told him and turned to the front of the class as our English teacher entered the classroom.

Ms. Sparks signalled for Jason to come up to her desk, and as he got up from his seat he shot me a wink.

I heard some giggling from Ashley and I saw that she was gawking at him shamelessly.

“He’s got a hot butt,” she told me, never taking her eyes off Jason.

I whacked her on the arm and sent her a look. She could seriously be annoying sometimes, especially when she got like this and especially when the reason behind her behaviour was Jason- yet another reason to hate him.

I turned my attention back to the exchange between the culprit and Ms. Sparks. I watched her hand him a book and a small stack of papers, and then he returned to his seat with a frown in place.

“Can you believe she gave me homework on the first day?” he hissed to me across the gap in our desks.

“Yes, actually,” I whispered back. “It’s technically the middle of the school year. You need to catch up.”

Jason rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”

Ms. Sparks started teaching the lesson then, so it gave me an excuse to focus on something other than Jason. I turned to face the front and settled my elbows on the desk, pen in hand.

But then something hit me on the head.

I looked down to see a piece of screwed up paper on the floor. I looked at Jason and raised my eyebrows, picking it up. When I unfolded it I found that he’d written a note inside:

You look hot in those skinny jeans but I bet that you’d look better without it.

I scrunched the paper back up and threw it at him. “You’re an ass,” I yelled, and everyone stopped and stared at me- including the teacher. I could basically feel Ms. Sparks’ disapproval searing into my skin.

“Is there a problem, Blake?” Ms. Sparks asked.

I just buried my face in my hands and stayed quiet. I couldn’t believe this was happening…

“It’s actually my fault, Ms. Sparks,” Jason spoke up. I peered at him between my fingers and gave him a confused look. What the hell was he doing?

“How so?” the teacher asked.

“Well,” Jason started, “I made the mistake of sleeping with Blake a while back and now she can’t get enough of me. She keeps begging me to hook up with her again and I just told her I wouldn’t so she called me an ass.”

My mouth literally hit the floor and I shot up in my seat. “No! Wait-he’s-no-it’s-not-true,” I spluttered.

Everyone started laughing and I could feel my cheeks flame, obviously turning a shade of red I thought was impossible to reach before.

I buried my face back into my arms on the desk, but not before giving Jason my hardest glare and catching a glimpse of his face and it was smug as hell.

School just started to suck. Big time.
