Chapter 4 continuation

A girl stood by the closet, pulling on her jeans. Her hair was disheveled and her whole appearance screamed that she was having a good time these last few minutes. This was the same girl I saw and from whom I ran away.

“Hi, Jay, “ the brunette smiled and came up to us.

“She's at your disposal. Show and tell her everything here. If you let her go, I will kill you,” the guy barked and left the room, slamming the door loudly.

“Okay, Hailey. Follow me, I will show you your room,“ the girl took my hand and dragged me down the corridor.

“What is your name? “ my voice sounded low, as if I was afraid of stirring up the inhabitants of this house.

“Rose.”

“What are you doing here? Don't you want to get out of here?”

“If I run away, they will kill me. In principle, everything suits me here, I'm used to it, you know. We have no other choice.”

We went into the room. In the middle of the room, under the wall, was a double bed. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. In the corner was a small desk and a plasma TV, next to which was a sofa.

“Here you will live,” the girl sat down on the bed, watching me.

“You still haven't answered my question. Do you sleep with them?”

“Yes,” I didn't seem to embarrass her at all.

“Why?“

So there are girls in this house who are forced to do this and you want to say that now I am one of them?

“They don’t ask me, dear. They just take me and...”

“I get it,” I interrupted Rosie, putting my hands forward.

I don’t want to hear such details. I don't like being here. It looks like a brothel. They come here, take any girl and have fun. Although I don't think they are resisting.

“I have to tell you about this place.”

Rose leaned back on the bed. I sat down on the sofa and looked at the brunette. “You already know what the left corps is, I suppose.” Rose trailed off, waiting for my confirmation.

“Not much, but I know.”

“Oh,” the girl let out a drawn-out sigh. “ Dean was very angry that you sent him there.”

“Sorry, he tried to rape me! “ I raised my voice.

Is she worried about him? They touched me, humiliated me in front of everyone, and she doesn't care. It is not right. In our world, everyone is for yourself. The time "one for all and all for one" is over. Expired like sand in an hourglass.

“Those who have broken the rules or hostages are sent to the left building,” the girl continued calmly, not paying attention to me.

“Hostages?”

“Well, yes, the "Darkness" gang constantly goes to various negotiations and shootings. How to put it that way,“ the brunette got up and narrowed her eyes. “they take bad people or violators hostage.”

“Okay, what about members?”

“James Williams Foster. His father is a big shot.”

“Who is he?”

“Sorry, I can't tell you all this.”

“Please tell me, “ I got up and walked over to the girl, sitting down on the bed next to her.

“No, just forget about it. Remember, nobody really knows anything. Jay doesn't talk about his personal life.” “Okay, go on,” I sighed without getting an answer.

“Dean is James's right hand.”

“He’s a terrible person,” I sighed and laid back on the bed.

“No, no,” the girl protested, shaking her head in protest. “James, he's a monster.” “What? He protected me from violence despite hitting me!”

“Mask. It's just a mask. Time will pass and you will see his demons. You will still remember my words.”

What if this is really the case? But Dean... she wants to say he's better than him? I do not know. I do not know. This is a strange place.

“I will go. Don't you dare run away. The consequences will not necessarily be the best.”

The brunette got out of bed and opened the door, turned around for the last time: “Don't you dare run away,” Rosie whispered again.

“If he finds out, then you will feel his demons on your own skin. You are his personal toy and no one has the right to protect you from him.”

The room plunged into darkness. The window is open and a cool breeze blows, making my body goose bumps. The only light source in this room is the moon. No, I won't get up to turn on the light. No, I won't get up to close the window. I put my head on the pillow and closed my eyes. A tear slides down my cheek, and without having time to fall, it turns out to be erased by a cold palm. Just one day in this place and I gave up. I was always weak, but I always tried to show myself strong, so that they would not break me, so that they would not see my weak side. I have always dreamed of that person so that he could stand up for me and protect me if something happens. My past is terrible. Every memory, every reminder of him brings me pain. A punch to the heart. A quiet sob filled the room. I buried my nose in the pillow and screamed in pain in a silent scream. Hot tears rolled down my cheeks, falling in small drops onto the sheet. The memory comes back every night. Every bad word spoken in your direction, every bullying hits the heart. I feel pain. This is good. This means that I can still feel. But time will pass and there will be emptiness inside me. Just one step and I won't be able to feel. Step and I am indifferent. I stopped talking a lot. I began to listen more, imbued with every word. In my eyes, the light has long disappeared. I burned out like a candle. Burned out. Outside the window were bright stars as the moon fought the darkness. Footsteps were heard down the corridor. I tensed, because my door was not closed. The door opened and after a few seconds the bed sagged beneath me. I pursed my lips, closed my eyes.

“Sorry,” the guy whispers, and then he gets up, closes the window and leaves my room, closing the door behind him. What just happened? I jumped out of bed and ran to the front door, quietly opening it.

Nobody. A completely empty corridor.

I scroll through the voice in my head and don't find it familiar. I don't know this guy? I close the door before I can find Dean who is walking out of Rose's room. I slammed the door and lay on the bed, closing my eyes. I slowly sink into my fantasy world.

“Hale, get up! “ The blanket begins to slide off me and through closed eyelids I see sunlight. “Hailey, get up quickly!”

I desperately try to pull it back on myself, still not opening my eyes, but I can’t succeed.

“Okay, I'm getting up!” I jumped out of bed, not wanting to listen to these screams.

On my way to the bathroom, I pushed Rose aside and went into the bathroom. Leaning my hands on the sink, I raised my head and looked into my exhausted, swollen eyes from tears. The view was not the best. Tangled hair, bruises under the eyes from lack of sleep, pale skin and... I turned sideways, examining my cheek. It bore a barely noticeable mark from Jay's slap in the face. Rose opened the door and peeked out from behind it, examining me.

“I can give you makeup. “

“Is it that bad?“ I asked sarcastically and grinned.

“Well...” drawled the brunette, not knowing what to answer.

“Do not say.” I cleaned myself up and left the bathroom. “And what are we going to do all day now? Having fun with the guys? Interesting.”

I had no desire to be here. I can't get out of here. So I need to make sure they kick me out. Or, as a last resort, killed.

“Joe is coming and taking you to James’s room,” Rose muttered.

“Why? I won't go there,” I folded my arms across my chest, frowning at such a statement.

“Oh, honey. Nobody will ask you.”

The girl put on makeup and took her phone, began to get on social networks. When I saw my cell phone, I remembered that I had dropped it when I was caught on the roof. Even if I had it, there would be absolutely no benefit from it. The police are covering up the Darkness gang and no one can help me. The door flew open, forcing us to look away from our affairs, if it could be called that. Joe stood in the doorway, forcibly looking at me.

“You go to Jay,” he left, closing the door behind him. My body was covered with goose bumps and I pulled the sleeves of the jacket tighter over my hands.

“Go.”

“I'm afraid,” my voice cracked, showing how scared I was.

“Go and please,” the brunette paused, pursing her lips. “Please don't make him angry. He's scarier than he really is.”

Her words echoed through my head, doing the same thing a hundred times. She can't lie. It doesn't make sense.

“Hale, out,” Joe opened the door, waiting for me.
