Narrators POV The history of Ethar Natura

Before the whole world was aware of supernatural creatures. There were secret orders that kept their own kind in line. The Vampires had the council, the Witches had covens, and the Moon Goddess controlled the fate of the race of werewolves. But what happens when Fate and Destiny have different objectives? Ethar Natura came from a powerful Wolf pedigree. Every male born with Natura blood was an alpha. The bloodline ran deep through many different packs all over the world. Though his grandfather Etgar Natura chose to divert from the fate the Moon goddess had blessed him with and follow his destiny. Although already mated Etgar chose a lover of what his race would call an impure bloodline. She was a heretic named Bellaquis Alya, a Witch and Vampire Hybrid.

Because of Etgar's betrayal the Moon Goddess cursed his bloodline with darkness, and when he died, he would become the only beast to be passed down to every Alpha generation to come. Unable to remember his past lives the darkness in turn driving every last one of his male progenies mad. What the moon goddess did not consider was the fact that Etgar would mark his lover, to mark another other than your fated mate caused tremendous emotional and physical agony to the mate.

His DNA now flowing through Bellaquis, the daughter she bore, would be the first Tribrid in history. The Moon goddess made sure to curse the males in his bloodline, yet the Tribrid Maud Alya was indeed cursed as she was hunted all her life, for being an unnatural creature. She was not blessed with a mate that would offer protection, and she was shunned by everyone of her kind, she was utterly alone, until she found love where it shouldn’t have been. Ethar’s father Ivar was of human decent, he was a strong Viking King, and he had a hunger for conquest he was not a good man in the slightest, but he was strong and revered amongst all kinds. He vowed to overthrow her half-brother and alpha of the blood moon pack and take back what was hers as a gift for her bearing him a son. With her magic and his armies, he would in the end make good on his promise.

The members of the Blood Moon pack didnt even put up a fight. Instead turning on their Alpha, who had already gone mad with darkness and abused his power. Maud became the first Luna pack leader to remain unmated and without an Alpha. Under her rule and with her gifts, the pack prospered. She was loved by her people and finally accepted amongst her own kind. Ivars's conquest did not end, it would go on to stretch out across the land for centuries resulting in his death. They loved one another but she could not turn him from his destiny. Maud knowing of the curse that ran through the males in her linage the pack was fearful of her son Ethar and what he would become. With his mother's magic he was able to learn to tame the darkness but could never dispel it. Maud blessed her son with a wide range of gifts including an extraordinarily long life.

With the Bloodmoon pack now thriving under Ethar’s rule, everyone was all too willing to assist Ethar in a more personal matter that haunted his existence. Finding the hunters hired by his stepmother that had tormented and chased his mother to the edges of the world. He craved vengeance, it was his destiny, and his pack would see it through. But what did fate have to say about it?

Zion’s POV

“What are Hunters?” I ask

“Hunters are beings from a supernatural race, bred and trained as assassins who bring creatures to justice for breaking the rules we live by. My mother was the first Tribrid in history and an abomination to the supernatural world.” he says, and I could tell it was hard for him to tell me this story, what his family had been threw broke my heart.

“But that would make you a Tribrid as well, right?” he nods to me. “So they are accepted in this world now?” I ask

“Yes, beginning with me I was able to control the darkness and my pack thrived under my rule, following the laws set down by our forbearers, they had no reason to shun me.” he answered, I take a deep breath trying to process all the information he had given me. He continues to tell the story

“Hunters could be from any race, they are given a special magic that allows them to track us through scent no matter what race they were after, they were given weapons designed to kill us without it even piercing the skin, they were skilled apothecaries, and although most could not manifest magic, they could channel it. All these things making them the most lethal creatures on earth besides me of course.” he says I chuckled at his smug comment.

“Hunter Magic is passed down through blood, and they walk amongst us in secret living regular lives, and they stop aging at the point that they are chosen for their first mission, and they don’t die instead they are locked away to endure centuries of sleep until they are called upon again.” When I thought he finished, I was confused, what did any of this have to do with my family and what I saw? He stands and sits on his knees in front of me, holding my hands in his looking up at me. His next words shocked me.

“Your Parents Beta Nigel Calhoun and Quazzi Calhoun were Hunters Zi. The hunters I vowed to destroy for putting my mother and me through hell for a life she did not choose.” He says still holding on to me. Shocked was an understatement, I had a flurry of emotions coursing threw me and more questions than answers. It took me a second to realize, as I did, an anger began to boil inside me that I wasn't sure I could control. Ethar noticing my shift in emotion he stands up watching me for what I would do next.

“You murdered them, you hunted my parents down and killed them.” tears brimming in my eyes, fury burning inside me, and just then I wanted everyone around me to feel the pain I was feeling right now. He took a step back like he was almost scared, but he remained calm and spoke.

“I did not murder your parents my love.” he says grabbing my hand, his touch immediately calming me, I let him continue the story.

“I had been after them for half a century, they were successful in evading me. We crossed paths numerous times, but I was never able to take them down. 17 years ago, when I tracked them here, I was finally ready for them, my plan was full proof. I had them in my grasp, but when I saw you immediately recognizing the bond. Another curse from the Goddess herself to mate me to my enemy's child.” He shakes his head and takes a seat on the couch beside me with his hands in his hair.

“Seeing you made me realize I was no better than they were, hunting a family to the edges of the world just like my mother and I had been hunted.”

“Your parents disappeared to protect you Zi. You were coming of age and when a hunter offspring turns 16 the parents are called back to sleep until their next mission preserving their bodies to be used as weapons.” he says. Taking a deep breath, I went to the window and just stared, this was too much, so many bombs have been dropped I didn’t know what to do with myself be upset, angry, sad I didn’t know how to feel.

“They are meant to breed the next generation of hunters and kill nothing more. But your parents loved you. I came to visit you all the time when you were a child, I can see the hold you had over them. If they could refuse their duty they would have, but that would have put you in danger.” He continues “They made me promise I would come to you before your 18th birthday, you were mate I would have done it regardless.”

“So, everyone here thinks I and something to do with my mom and dad’s disappearance?” I ask, that was the only explanation I could produce after hearing everything.

“I’m not sure what happened to them Zi. They never made it back to their strong hold, I searched for them everywhere believe me I would have found them if they had entered the sleep.” he says, I could feel through the bond he was not lying to me, all I felt through the bond was sympathy, and pity for me.

“So, what happened to them?” I say tears running down my face begging him for answers I knew he didn’t have.

“Im not sure Zi, but if there is anything in my power I can do to aid you in finding out , I will do it, I will bring the entire world to its knees if you asked it of me.” he says tugging me against him. He wipes my face and my lips begin to tug up into a smile. His devotion to me was refreshing. He was my mate, I finally found him, my protector, my lover, my friend. He brings my lips to meet his. Ethar gave me hope, and for once in the last year I saw my future brighter.
