Chapter Two

William initially hadn’t known what his brother had done until he called to tell him, When Thomas told him that he had taken a female CSI from one of their most recent body drops, William chastised his brother for his stupidity. As far as he was concerned Thomas had made the mess and he could clean it up, if William had known leaving his brother alone like that, would have resulted in his death he never would've done it. Because of this he had spent the last four months watching Detective Riley and his daughter Samantha, taking photos and Video and making notes of their day-to-day lives. After months of waiting William was finally ready to enact his revenge, Thomas was gone, but even so he had a genius plan, what better way to hit the CSI's in the place where it hurts most, than by taking and killing one of their own. Thomas may have failed to kill Samantha, but William would not and finally after all of that waiting, he would have a chance, and if luck allowed, he might get two for the price of one.

Samantha had only lived in this apartment building for the last few months, but it was a wonderful LA City loft and even better it was right across from her father’s apartment. The first month or so after Samantha had been released from the hospital had been rough, and with him literally being able to keep an eye on her, she had recovered quicker than the doctors anticipated. This however would still prove to be Samantha’s one mistake, in trying to be more careful as well as less trustful of those she didn't know being in a new apartment building and seeing different faces every day would cause her downfall. Not that she would've known who to look for, but she had seen William on at least three separate occasions, and while not a good thing for her was excellent for him. As he had done multiple times before, William was down in the lobby waiting for her to return home, tonight would be different though, tonight would be the night he finally made Detective Riley pay for the death of his brother. Unfortunately for Matthew, he wouldn't realize it until it was too late and for Samantha she'd soon be wishing for death.

After hopping off the elevator, Samantha finally made it to her front door, as she had done for the past few months carefully looking around as she unlocked all three locks. Being that the floor had only just been renovated before Samantha had moved in it was still empty, none of the other apartments on her floor had tenants yet. It had cost a little extra to get all three locks replaced with ones to her's and Matthew’s specifications, but it made both of them feel safer, unfortunately it meant little to nothing to William who was an expert at picking locks. Due to William’s careful nature, he had already been in her apartment a few times, today being no exception, he already made sure to dose her tea as well as a few of the bottles of water she kept in her fridge. He was always different from Thomas in regard to this, while his brother had preferred to use brute strength to initially overpower their victims, William preferred to rely on drugs. Being that he had studied Samantha’s routine for almost 4 months he knew exactly most nights when she would get home, how she would change and make herself a cup of tea, and then sit down to look through that day’s case files. You’d think as part of law-enforcement Samantha would know better than to have such a predictable routine but being that she lived across from her father neither one of them thought to see the danger in it. True to her schedule after Samantha entered her apartment, she went to her bedroom to change into some comfortable clothes and then proceeded to make herself a cup of tea while settling in to look over the case files before having dinner with her father later.

It had only been an hour or so since Samantha settled down on the living room couch with her tea and the case files for tomorrow's trial, but she was already beginning to feel tired, along with being tired Samantha was also finding it hard to focus. She carefully packed everything up and placed it in the closet safe, she made her way back over to the couch even more tired. She was drawn away from thoughts of her fatigue by a notification on her phone, it was her dad letting her know that they may have to postpone dinner tonight as they just caught a new case. And almost immediately after receiving that notification she also received one from Nick telling her that he would be stopping by to drop off the other case files that she had forgotten. No sooner had Samantha sent replies to both, she could tell that something was wrong, trying to gather as much strength as she could, she managed to get off the couch but didn't make it far before she collapsed to the floor. William had always been the more time sensitive and meticulous of the two, as if on cue the moment he heard her fall, he knew it was time to put his plan into action. Having concealed himself just outside of Samantha’s apartment he had been patiently waiting for the drugged tea to take effect, as he had done many times before, he picked the lock and made his way into her apartment. To William the scene before him was almost like a beautiful work of art and while Thomas was no longer with him, he had to admit his brother always had a way of picking out the most beautiful women and Samantha was no different. Even unconscious the way Samantha was sprawled on the floor was almost as if he were looking at an Angel who had fallen to earth. Knowing that time was of the essence, William quickly got to work.

William began by binding Samantha’s hands and feet, while is brother had always been fond of barbed wire or zip ties, he preferred rope or duct tape for binding his victims. For Samantha, William had decided to use rope, he had always felt that it was more elegant when restraining women. He used tape mostly on men, except when it came to silencing or gagging their victims, then tape was the preferred method as it was easier to use and easier to add more layers to if needed. Luckily for Samantha he wasn’t ready to gag her just yet, he wanted her to wake up first so that they could have a proper introduction, instead he focused on the binding of her hands and feet, gently propping her up against one of the columns in her living room. He went around to all the windows and closed the curtains for more privacy, he also took the time to arrange the bedroom as well as an extra chair in the living room / dining room for when Detective Montgomery got there. William had been extremely thorough and had done research on everyone, not just Detective Riley and his daughter Samantha and luck seemed to be on his side, he would get 2 for the price of one. Assuming everything would go to plan, William settled in for the long haul, truly hoping he would get the week he needed to really hit the CSI’s where it hurt.
