CHAPTER 5: EMERGENCY MISSION

When she arrived at the hall, she went to the board and noticed that there was a new mission on the board and it was urgent. She had the right to accept or reject the mission, she was never forced but because she was someone who needed crystals and rewards, she accepted the mission.

The mission looked very funny, she was supposed to save a Mr. Macy. The place where he was, was already written down. So, after accepting the mission Krystal took a taxi and went there. When she arrived at the place, she was taken back. There was no one there, the place looked abandoned and eerie. It reminded her of the days where she had to beat the hell out of someone in places like these.

She searched the place for ten minutes before she heard a groan. She ran towards the direction and she stopped when she spotted a middle aged man lying on the ground. He looked hurt and he was bleeding.

Krystal quickly walked towards the man and after checking that he was still breathing and alive, she called for an ambulance and gave the directions. Since she was supposed to save this man and if she had to wait for the ambulance to arrive then this man would surely die.

She didn’t have any pills on her but she had seen a number in the pharmacy. She visited the pharmacy and bought some healing medicine. It was different from the others since it was liquid.

This liquid took 50 gold pieces and this truly made her heart ache. Feeding a stranger a half million medicine was just a total waste. If it wasn’t the fact that the rewards were good, she would have not bothered about it.

Krystal fed the man the medicine until he was breathing normally again. Seeing that he wasn’t going to die, she sat by his side and waited for the ambulance to arrive.

When the ambulance arrived, she followed them to the hospital and the hospital bill. She left her contact details after finishing everything. She wanted to know when the man wakes up; she didn’t want anyone dying on her.

Krystal went to the restroom where she closed the door and went directly to the mall, visited the mission hall with a smile as she had finished her first mission ever since she received this golden cheat.

Seeing the huge tick on the mission, she felt elated. The light shone on the mission statement and next her rewards popped up on the counter. She had received one crystal which compensated the money she had used to purchase the healing medicine.

Her most satisfactory reward was the bottle of memory retaining pills. These pills were good for her especially when she was planning on reading so many books to catch up on what she had lost.

She had received a total of twelve pills and she could take one each day as long as she reads. After collecting her reward, Krystal went to the pharmacy and smiled when she saw that the memory retaining pills had been added to the shelf.

Now the shelves had the healing medicine and the memory retaining pills. She was even surprised that the water pill she received first when she got connected to the system was not even on the shelf.

She had a feeling that it will be expensive considering how effective it was. Since she was done, she left the mall and went out of the restroom. Krystal happily left the hospital and visited a restaurant where she got herself something to eat before returning back to her villa. She had already done a lot of things and it was time for her to rest.

Her books arrived in the evening and she busied herself with packing them into the study. She took her laptop and browsed through the internet where she ordered the study furniture and the kitchen utensils. When she was done, she went to the sitting room where she began to watch some news and movies to pass up the time before she went to bed.

The following two days she didn’t go anywhere, she was busy with her study, she hired someone to assemble the furniture and had it stored. She also filled her kitchen unit with the utensils she had bought. Now she could start cooking in her own home instead of buying meals outside.

She also put the books she had bought previously on the shelves; her laptop was placed safely on the desk. Krystal really loved this study of hers compared to the last one she had that was filled with all kinds of weapons.

Krystal wanted to start reading, so she had prepared a meal for herself even though it wasn’t that high class considering the fact that it had been years since she last cooked. Even though her former host could cook, that didn’t mean that she was a professional.

As she was having her meal, her cell phone rang and she picked it up. She didn’t have a lot of contacts in her phone. And since she had only gave a few people her number she wasn’t that depressed when she picked it up.

The call was made with Mr. Macy, the man she had saved a few days ago and he wanted to meet with her. Since the man was feeling generous, then she was going to meet him.

She changed her clothes and took a taxi to the hospital. She went to the V.I.P room where the man was now resting in. it seemed his family found him and he was moved to a better room when she left which was good.

“You must be Miss Krystal, I am Aaron, the man that you saved is my father,” a man in his thirties said with a smile as he stretched his hand towards hers.

Krystal seeing the friendly look on his face, smiled and accepted the handshake.

“It’s nice to meet you.”

“My father is anxious to meet you, please follow me,” Aaron said and he led her inside the hospital room.

She smiled at the middle aged who had caused her to use half a crystal just to save him. She really hoped that he didn’t call her all the way just to see her, she was a busy person after all.

“It’s nice to finally meet you,” Mr. Macy said with a smile.

“It’s good to see you well like this, I am glad that you are doing well,” Krystal spoke.

“We are very grateful for what you did that day, if it wasn’t for you my dad would have died.”

“I just did what anyone would have done,” Krystal said with a gentle smile.

She would have died if she had found some bad people there. If it wasn’t for the mission, she would have never tried something like that especially with her weak body.

“You are truly special and because of that I want to thank you.”

“Please take this,” Aaron said as he passed her a cheque.

She really tried to refuse it but there were so insistent that in the end she accepted it. She was celebrating inwardly; this was a one-million-dollar reward. She was going to cash it in her bank account and another crystal added to her wallet.

She spoke with the two for a while before the conversation changed into something she felt very ashamed of.

“If you find it hard to speak about it then please just forget about it,” Mr. Macy said and she really felt embarrassed.

She could tell that the man meant no harm and even if he finds her not worthy, she still cashed in a lot. So, Krystal decided to just tell them about her life including leaving some parts of her life from it.

“It must have been hard, are you doing okay now?” Krystal heard concern from the two men; they weren’t looking at her with disdain which was a first for her especially after what she went through.

“I am doing quite okay. I am just trying to look for a school to enroll at. I can’t return First High School since I was blacklisted after being charged,” she said sounding very depressed.

She was only left with less than two weeks to find a school for herself and it was getting quite annoying. What she never expected was what she heard from Mr. Macy next.

“Oh, if you are interested you can come and study at my school,” he said with a smile and this shook her a bit.

“You have a school?” Krystal knew that there were people who had their own private schools and some were teachers, so she didn’t know which category this old man was in.

“Hahahaha, I surely do have a school girl. I own Riverside High School and as long as you want, I can give you a recommendation letter and you can start when the term begins.”

She looked at the man as she digested every word she had just heard. She wanted to dance and celebrate but she had to hold still for a while until everything was settled.

“You don’t mind my rap sheet?” she asked worriedly.

“It is a private school and such records are always private. From what you have told me, I can tell that you are not such a person. You simply had bad luck, this is what I should do.”

“But…”

“Take this a gift from me to repay you for saving my life, don’t reject it,” the old man insisted and being touched by his generosity, she accepted.

She really needed to find a school and one came to her on its own. How could she let the opportunity go like that?

She talked with the two men for an hour and after agreeing to let the man send her a recommendation letter in two days, she finally left the hospital with relief.

She had really done a great job with accepting the emergency mission. She now understood that the mission hall was essential to her growth and the missions issued should be accepted no matter what.
