CHAPTER 6: RECOMMENDATION LETTER

Krystal had been very ecstatic ever since meeting Mr. Macy who had promised to help her with her dire school situation. She had been busy studying freshman books and popping the memory retaining pills as she read.

It really took a lot of her energy, but she had been doing quite well so far, especially when she found out that the pills were magical. She couldn’t forget what she saw and her speed was a bit faster than ordinary. Which made it easy for her to memorize some of the text books she had bought earlier.

She received a call from the management office when she was in the middle of reading the freshman history textbook which she found very fascinating. She left her villa and walked towards the office and signed for the package that had been sent.

She hugged the envelope all the way back to her villa where she tore it open and smiled as she looked at the letter that had been sent to her. This was the letter that had been promised to her a few days ago. After reading it, she placed it carefully into her drawer before she called Mr. Macy to thank him.

After speaking to him she had decided to visit her former school to get her grades report so that she could go and enroll at the new school. She continued with her studying and this time she had more motivation since her problem had been solved.

The next day she went to her former school and she wasn’t scared at all. She was no longer that timid young girl that wanted to please everyone and was desperately in need of love and recognition from others.

When she arrived, she went straight to the administrative office where she met a middle-aged woman who seemed to be in her fifties. There was something about her that just seemed off and from the memories she had retrieved, this woman was nicknamed to be a witch because of her aloofness.

“How are you, ma’am?” Krystal tried to be as polite as she can be while facing this witch.

The woman looked at her with disdain, it wasn’t surprising that she remembered her.

“What are you doing here?”

“I am here to get a report regarding my grades. I need to find another school,” she answered her ignoring that unsightly look on her face.

“Umphh, which kind of school would accept someone like you?” the witch sneered at her as she typed on her computer probably looking for her report.

Krystal didn’t bother to answer her after all she might trigger the witch. And this may make the witch to refuse to give her what she wanted. She stood there as the witch kept on throwing insults at her. She had to keep up the pretense of her former self and let the insults roll. The woman printed the documents she needed and she gave it to her.

“I hope to never see you again here, kids like you taint such holy places like this,” she sneered at her again.

This time Krystal didn’t hold it inside her but burst out laughing.

“Its people like you who look at themselves and think that they are gods that tarnish places like these,” Krystal mocked the witch.

“What…?” the witch couldn’t even speak as she was angry after what she had said but she didn’t give a damn about her.

“You should learn to have an opinion of your own and stop believing in gossip. For a person who is considered a teacher and as well as a mother, you should be more open-minded than now. It’s a good thing that I am leaving, don’t worry about me. You will never see me again,” Krystal sneered at the witch and left the office laughing like a madman.

She really was enjoying herself as she remembered how angry the witch was when she left the office. She even heard her throwing insults at her as she left. Krystal left the school she had loved so much, a school where she had suffered so much and the school that had led to her misery.

She took a taxi to Riverside High School; she found the administrative office quickly. She processed her documents quickly since she had a personal letter from the owner himself. She paid her school fees since she had declined a scholarship from Mr. Macy before. She left the school after receiving her school I.D and the uniform list.

Krystal made her way to the boutique that sells uniforms. She gave the server the list and soon she was escorted to the section where Riverside High School uniforms were. She looked for a while for her size and luckily, she found some. She was still malnourished for someone her age. She picked five sets of uniforms, paid for them and left the boutique with her uniforms.

Krystal returned back to her villa where she put the new uniforms in her closet. She visited the Mission Hall once more and saw that the mission she had taken back then had been cleared. She smiled as she saw that another crystal had been added to the wallet and five pills were waiting for her in another jade bottle.

She didn’t leave immediately after getting her reward but took a visit to the Treasury Hall. There was a map on the shelf and after looking at its attributes she found out that it was a treasure map. The map could show where different kinds of treasures were and it was limited to the level of the mall.

Now that she had earned more than ten crystals so far, she had managed to open all the stores. For now, even though the products in each store were still too little as long as she earned more; then the mall would level up.

So, far she had earned thirteen and half crystals, she needed six and half more to level up once more. She was anticipating what the mall would be like when she levels up. In order for her level the mall up she had to sell the diamonds or find another source of income and she preferred the second options.

So, Krystal decided to buy the treasure map and she spent seven crystals leaving her with only some silver pieces as change. She had become broke, and her wallet needed to be replenished soon or she won’t be able to buy any food.

Krystal took out the map and spread it on her desk in her study. The map was quite huge and the material used for it was special and it wasn’t something she had seen before.

She studied the map for more than an hour and she realized that so far, the map was showing only herbs. She knew just how much she could fetch for some high tier herbs; she once knew of a traditional medicinal practitioner who crazily researched herbs. As long as she finds a good market, she would surely earn a lot of money.

Krystal stored the map in her desk drawer, cooked her dinner and ate it alone in that huge villa. It was frustrating living alone but she still couldn’t bear to have anyone with her at the moment either.

After she was done eating her food, she went to her bedroom where she washed up and changed into her night wear. She switched off the bedside lamp and fell into a deep slumber, it had been a very long day for her.
