Chapter Two

Alexia lounged in the sun as she stared at the sky wondering when she would finally prove her worth to these egotistical men.

She glanced at her skin that was slightly tanned and stared at the denim shorts she wore which exposed her legs.

Her black canvas was perfect for every occasion be it fighting or outing. Her bikini bra outlined the curves on her skin and she smiled.

She was pretty hot in the human world and as a teenager but here they didn't even glance at her. It wasn't her fault that she was a huntress.

The males glanced at her with anger while the females were scared of her so there goes all her years of making friends.

“Your father is back, Lexi.”

She sighed. She would have stayed out more but she knew her mother would soon come out to inform her of her father's return. Again.

They had been anxious when he left earlier to go for a meeting with those creatures but she trusted that her father wouldn't blink an eye if anyone threatened him.

She grabbed her jacket and headed inside to find out what the meeting decided.

Her father was sitting at the dining table with his mother and she was spoon-feeding him his favorite meal, chicken and waffles.

She smiled as she glanced at them and it warmed her heart. She always felt happy at her parents' display of affection for each other, something that the other hunters and their wives lacked.

She wished that one day she would also find her better half. Beneath all her hard exterior she was a woman who wanted pleasure and she was going to get that pleasure when it was time.

After all, beneath all her father's macho exterior he was also very loving towards her mother.

"Dad, how was the meeting?" She asked, finally interrupting their lovey-dovey.

Her dad chuckled as he planted a firm kiss on his mother's lips.

"Gross. Get a room, you guys!" She exclaimed, making a face and covering her eyes.

"Don't worry very soon you will find your better half and you guys will be lovey-dovey," her mother, Cynthia Luther chuckled.

Alexia smiled. "Until then I would like to not always see you guys kissing."

Her dad smiled then gestured for her to come closer.

"The meeting went well, surprisingly," he said.

"So that means you didn't cut off anyone's head," she said in a resigned tone.

Her father chuckled. “No, Princess. There was no need for that.”

“So what did you guys decide?” she probed.

“I already spoke to the council of hunters and they've agreed to these terms,” her father replied.

“You’re probably forgetting that there's a huntress too,” she stated with a pout.

Her father chuckled. “I would never.”

“Spill then!” she grumbled.

“They decided that on the night of the half-moon we all gather in the packhouse of White Flame Pack,” her father replied.

“We all gather? I don't understand,” she sounded shocked.

“As in the witches and warlocks clan, the vampire clan, the werewolves clan, and the hunters. We are all to stay at a place till when the night is over,” her father explained.

“And they chose for us to stay in a werewolf pack? Why would we even stay with them when they can decide to kill us?”

“Calm down, Princess,” her father sighed, massaging his head.

“It’s not like that, dad. Don't tell me to calm down when you know that we could have handled this on our own!” she snarled.

Her father sighed again. Ever since his daughter was little and she witnessed the death of her grandparents she had been unable to shake off her hatred for wolves.

“We tried handling it on our own but it wasn't possible. You of all people know that it's not been easy with these attacks, we have no idea who's attacking us,” her father tried to explain.

But Alexia was having none of his explanation as she shook her head vehemently.

“No way! I'm not going to grovel together with those creatures of darkness!”

“Alexia, calm down and listen to me, you're a girl!” her father snapped, raising his voice slightly.

Alexia flinched like she had been slapped.

“I didn't mean it like that,” her father said with remorse immediately.

“Lexi, just hear your father out. They came to a very comfortable conclusion,” her mother intervened, placing a hand on her shoulders to restrict her from leaving.

She gave a tight-lipped nod.

“What we concluded is that each of the clan will take an oath before the blue flame not to harm anyone till we've left the packhouse,” her father explained.

Alexia shrugged. “It doesn't change a thing.”

Her father chuckled. “It does. Just give it a chance.”

Her nostrils flared up in anger as she glared at her father.

“Oops,” her mother mumbled.

She stood up and left the dining abruptly heading back to the chair she had been lounging in earlier.

Give it a chance? A fucking chance? She ranted in her head as she massaged her temple. He wanted her to give those beasts a chance.

The same chance that her grandparents were trying to give them before they were killed or another chance?

She felt tears sting her eyes as she remembered the scene from ten years ago.

She had been a carefree girl who despite training to be a huntress she never missed a weekend without visiting her grandparents.

And so on that fateful weekend, she had gone to visit them. She heard them talking about uniting the clans rather than fighting.

They wanted to give every supernatural creature a chance to be redeemed. A chance to know that their cause isn't in vain.

She knew it wasn't a good idea but since her grandparents believed it then she believed it too. She decided to give them a chance too just like how her grandparents had said.

Then when she went visiting her grandparents for the summer she had gotten her first real friend, a female werewolf. And despite all the warnings about hunters not associating with them, Alexia told them she was given a chance just like her grandparents wanted.

That day she told her friend they were having a hunters party and she was invited. Her friend had come but not alone, she came with a pack of wolves and she watched in horror as they devoured her grandparents killing a lot of hunters along with them.

Then her so-called friend had transformed back to her human form and told her clearly, “wolves and hunters can never be friends.”

The warning had remained fixed in her mind and the hatred the hunters had for her increased when they found out the wolves attacked because she had informed her wolfie friend.

Her life had never been the same after that incident. That was when she became serious in training and decided to hunt down the wolfie girl.

The good news is she killed a lot of wolves but the bad news is she never found the girl even after ten years. But Alexia would never forget that ice-cold blue eyes that stared at her with so much hatred.

And now they were at it again. Asking her to give them a chance. Give them a chance so they could stab them all in the back.

It felt like history was repeating itself and she didn't know what to do. Her anger intensified when she heard they also had to take an oath.

Fuck the blue flame! She would destroy those beasts. But deep down she knew this time her father was right.

They couldn't stop this threat on their own especially since they don't know what or who was causing the massacres.

She just didn't want the wolves to have the upper hand so she decided to go with her special weapon.

The lipstick laser and compact mirror bomb she had taken. It seemed a bit unusual especially since she loved throwing knives and swords but she knew the wolves wouldn't let them enter the packhouse parading with weapons.

She was just taking this one in case the wolves betray them the moment they leave the packhouse.

Somehow this was going to work in her favor, she mused as she thought about it. All wolves gathered together in one place.

What if the universe was working in her favor and this was her time to exact revenge on the pack who attacked her and killed her grandparents.

After waiting for ten years it would be a relief to finally get the chance to look into the eyes of her betrayal as she slit her throat and cut off her head.

Oh, sweet revenge, she moaned in pleasure and suddenly it didn't seem like such a bad idea again. She was anticipating the six days to arrive.

The half-moon better arrives soon, she thought with a smile on her lips.
