She's leaving?

“She’s leaving?” Bella heard alpha Sam shouting from the meeting room.

“I guess you told him” Bella smiled.

“I guess we are both equally clueless” luna Alice said. “Maybe it’s just the fact that we can’t see our lives without you in them.”

“That is verry kind of you to say luna”

The door to the office burst open and alpha Sam stormed in.

“Mark will handle them. What are you talking about leaving?” he said.

“Bee needs to follow her mate back to his pack babe” luna Alice calmly said.

“Sorry Bella, but that won’t happen. We will find another solution” he said firmly.

“You are being childish, she will leave and become luna for the pack and you and I will have to find a way to survive”

The luna’s comment had Bella’s mind spinning. She would have to be a luna. She knew it already, well kind of, but hearing it made it real. Could she handle something like that, she was an omega. As the alpha couple continued to argue, she left them to it and sat down at her desk.

Her phone showed a new message.

G: What r u doing?

Bella smiled. It had been less than twenty minutes since their last message.

B: I’m trying to work. I just handed in my notice.

G: I’m happy to hear that. But I’m sorry that you had to give it up.

B: Thanks. I caught both my bosses by surprise. They hadn’t realized what me mating with an alpha would mean. They are arguing at the moment on whether to let me leave or not.

G: Bella, you are mine, you will be leaving.

B: Chill.

B: The luna is on my side, that means I will be looking for a replacement before eod.

G: Good, when can you leave for the day?

B: I think I can get away around 5pm

G: It’s only 2pm now.

B: I know

G: That’s tree more hours

B: I’m aware

G: You are killing me

B: You are a big, tuff, alpha. I think you’ll be fine.

B: Need to start working, I’ll call you when I’m walking home.

G: WALKING HOME?!

G: I said I’ll pick you up so that is what I’ll do. You are not walking home alone.

G: Bella, I need you to tell me you understand.

B: I understand, I’ll sent you a text when I’m almost done and then wait for you in the main lobby.

G: Thank you. I’ll see you then.

Bella sighed and told herself to focus, she needed to work, there were things that needed to be done. That’s when she realized that she needed to call her dad. He was too far away to mind link. Should she wait and call him when she got home?

No, he would be wildly disappointed to know she waited half a day to tell him. She checked the schedule for the day and saw that she had fifteen minutes until the next guests would arrive. She took her phone and went into the large meeting room that was empty.

“Hi peanut, why are you calling in the middle of the day?” her dad answered in a worried voice.

“Hi dad, nothing’s wrong” she reassured him. “But something kind of happened today and I need to tell you”

“Oh, that sounds exciting, did you meet your mate?” he chuckled at his own joke.

“Um, yeah I did” she said and then there was silence. “Dad?”

“Congratulation peanut! I’m so happy for you, I can’t even start to express how happy I am. If your mother could be here, she would be so excited” he finally said, Bella could hear the tears in his voice.

“Thanks dad, that means a lot to me.”

“Tell me everything, I’m guessing he’s one of the visiting wolfs. Is he a warrior, or even a gamma?”

“No dad, he’s actually an alpha. His name is Graham and he’s the alpha of the Blackmoon pack” she told him, feeling a pang of guilt that she would be leaving the pack.

“I knew you were meant for great things peanut. I always told your mother when you were little that you were stubborn enough to run a pack. You know that Eric and I believed you and Sam would be mates at one point.

But then when you started as the alpha pair’s assistant, I thought that was how you would fulfil your purpose. But it looks like I had it right the first time around” he said proudly.

“Dad, you are just making that up” Bella laughed.

“Am not, you my daughter may be an omega, but you have a spine made of steel and a heart filled with compassion and love. If that isn’t luna material I don’t know what is.”

“You are too kind dad”

“Not at all peanut. Now, I want you to bring your mate home so that I can meet him and take a look to see if he is good enough for you”

“Dad, the moon goddess found him worthy” Bella said giggling.

“She doesn’t know you as well as I do”

“Dad! Heresy” she pretended to be shocked.

“Oh please, you just bring that alpha around here and I will be on my best behaviour”

“I’ll see when we get the chance, he’s here for the summit and the program is intense. But I’ll make sure you get to meet him dad. I have to run now”

“You do that, I’m proud of you and everything that you have accomplished, and I’m happy for you”

“Thanks dad, it means the world to me. I love you”

“I love you too peanut”

Bella smiled as she exited the conference room. She almost ran straight into Mark, he was walking into the smaller meeting room holding a can of soda.

“Sorry Mark” she said with a smile.

“No harm, no foul. You seem to have a lot to do. I feel like we haven’t been able to talk at all despite being in the same office all day” he said smiling at her.

“You know how it is, the day before the big summit. Things to do” she said taking a step back from him. It made her uncomfortable to stand so close to him.

“That’s true. You should make sure to relax when you get of work today. Can I take you out to dinner, so you won’t have to cook?” he asked her, and Bella just looked at him. Where did that come from?

“Sorry Mark, my mate is picking me up” she said, relived to have a valid excuse for once, that meant she wouldn’t have to deal with him trying to persuade her to change her mind.

“Mate?” he asked her surprised, and his eyes darted down to her shoulder. How did he miss that she met her mate today? He had been in the meeting with them.

“Yes, alpha Graham, we met today, you were in the meeting with us” she told him.

“Oh, I did think it was strange that you were sitting next to that guy”

“Yeah, I have to go. Ted let me know the next alpha is coming up in the elevator. I hope you have a good meeting” she told him, walking away towards the elevator. She could feel his eyes on her and it sent a shiver down her spine, and not in a good sort of way.
