Chapter 3

Levi was nodding his head and he couldn’t control himself not to smile after the call that he had.

“What’s that smile for? Who called you?” Cameron asked with her eyebrows knitted together but the woman was smiling. He could tell that the woman knew that the phone call was good news. She was even shaking her head. She looked confused about why he looked so happy after that call he took.

He couldn’t believe that in an instant, his world had totally changed. He was so young and yet he was able to achieve his dreams.

Levi shrugged his shoulders as he answered Cameron.

“Well, I just happened to receive some good news,” he said and then moved his shoulders upward. “I am just going to have an interview with Ms. Georgia on her morning show after tomorrow. It’s going to be a live show,” he announced with pride in his voice.

He felt like he was already close with his dreams. Dreams that he never thought would come into reality this soon.

His heart was covered with happiness. So much happiness that he couldn’t already contain them.

Cameron’s eyes covered her mouth because of surprise.

He nodded his head as a confirmation that it was not a joke, but it was for real.

“Wow! Is that for real? That’s a great achievement! I am sure after that interview. You are going to be popular. That is just everyone’s dream. If you know what I mean,” Cameron said as her eyes went round when she learned that her fiancé was going to have an interview with one of the top-rated morning talk shows. It would be a great honour if a person would be invited in that show. Only those people who really achieve something in life were being interviewed there.

The joy and surprise were written all over her face. She was even shaking her head like she couldn’t believe it was going to happen.

Elene let out a sigh. “Well, he is already well-known for winning the competition in SEA games, that’s just an extra exposure,” she said and almost rolled her eyes. She said it in a low voice, but her gesture was so visible.

That didn’t escape Levi's eyes. He immediately wrapped his arm on Cameron’s shoulder and then he threw a sharp look at his cousin.

He couldn’t understand why on earth she actually said that. He felt like his cousin was trying to spoil his moment.

“Just ignore her. What time do you want me to drop you home? Or do you want to spend the night here?” He said and then he gave her a sinister smile. He winked at her at the same time which made her giggle.

Cameron shook her head as she smiled back at him.

“You are naughty, boy. I need to go back home now and it’s almost ten in the evening. I still have my first period class tomorrow,” the woman said after she looked at her wristwatch.

“Alright, let me just drop you home,” he said to the woman.

Cameron shrugged her shoulders. “Let me just say goodbye to your parents,” the woman said and then headed to where her parents were.

Levi felt like heaven and the universe conspired together because of everything that suddenly happened in his life. He couldn’t really believe that he would be like an instant celebrity. Not like those ordinary ones but a high caliber because of the invitation that he got over the phone. He wondered what would be next after this.

They stood up and then he went to his room to go and get the key to his car. Levi was even humming a song while heading to his room. He was really feeling great.

After getting that, he stepped out of the room and then he met his fiancée in the living room who was with his parents.

“Are you sure you can drive, Levi?” His father suddenly asked. He could see the worry in his face as if he wouldn’t want him to drive.

“Yes, Dad. It’s just a bottle of beer. You know me. I have a high tolerance when it comes to alcohol. Beer isn’t the one that could make me feel drunk,” he said and then smiled at him.

Elene clicked her tongue, and she was shaking her head and in a bitchy tone she spoke from Levi’s behind.

“Yes, you have a high tolerance since you drowned yourself in alcohol three years ago,” his cousin said which made him a bit pissed off. He couldn’t tell what was happening to her since she had been having an attitude since earlier.

“Could you just please shut up?” He said in a low but firm tone. He was grateful that Cameron and his mother were already outside waiting for him in the garage and they didn’t hear what Elene said.

His face turned dim. He couldn’t figure out what was his cousin’s problem. She has been showing an attitude since earlier. He wanted to ask her what could be her problem but he just shut his mouth and looked at her.

“Hey, I am just joking. Just drive safely,” Elene said and smugly smiled at him when she saw how serious he was already. If she was trying to be funny, then sorry to her because she wasn’t.

He and Cameron left his house heading to the woman’s place. He felt like his cousin was trying to ruin his night. He didn’t want to think that she was not happy for him.

He saw his girlfriend playing with the ring that he gave her earlier in the airport. “Are you happy?” He asked after he gave a glimpse of her. Then he focused his eyes back on the road.

Until now, he couldn’t believe that he was able to ask Cameron that question. It took a lot of courage for him to kneel in front of her and ask her in front of a lot of people. He no longer thought if the woman would be refusing his proposal. He was so happy that he didn’t think anything negative would happen.
