Prologue

Christian Knight was about to marry Andrea Donovan and start a new life. Andrea was a gorgeous and respectable woman. She loved Christian since her college days but couldn’t muster the courage to express her feelings to him, as she knew Christian was interested in Diana Roger, the famous mute girl.

Years later, destiny finally played cupid for Andrea and Christian, and their families fixed their wedding. Andrea was over the moon, and it was hard for her to believe that Christian was going to be her forever.

To escape the haunting nightmares and hallucinations about one particular woman, whom he thinks he has never met before, Christian agreed to marry Andrea as she was a beautiful, smart, and generous woman, completely compatible with his status. But little did he know that meeting with a stranger at Coffee House will change everything for him.

What will happen when destiny plays its cards?

Would Christian be able to accept that he had been married before?

Will he choose his present over his past or follow his way back to his former wife?

Would Mishka be willing to give another chance to Christian or she has already moved on in her life?

Will their love pass the test of time and commitment to come out victorious or will their love story end long ago?

Follow the other half of Christian and Mishka’s tale to witness if second chances really exist or if healing a broken heart is beyond repair.

A day before the wedding,

Wearing a dashing blue suit, Christian was waiting for his potential client at Coffee House. He gazed at the wedding ring in his hand and his mind started buzzing with chaos, thinking about his decision to marry Andrea.

He took a deep breath, pushing the velvet red box back into his trouser, and decided to read the latest novel by Author Scarlet to calm himself but some incidents in the book felt familiar to him as if it has happened to him before, and this created another series of questions in his mind. But shrugging all the thoughts off his mind, he totally engrossed himself in reading, flipping to the next page, when a twenty-seven-year-old woman approached him.

“Christian Knight?” She asked, furrowing her eyebrows as her honey-coloured eyes stared at him.

Christian averted his gaze from the book and peered at her. “Oh, my god!! How are you?” She asked excitedly while Christian tried his best to recognise her.

“Do we know each other, miss?” Christian asked.

“Yes!! I am Amelia Scott. We have met once before. I am the former assistant of Author Scarlet. Now, I work in Spain and just came back for some business.” She answered and Christian got excited at the mention of his favourite writer and rose from his chair to greet her.

“Oh, really!! Please sit. Fancy a cuppa?” Christian offered, but Amelia politely declined while disconnecting a call from her child, who was waiting outside for her in the cab outside.

“I have to catch a flight, maybe another time.” She smiled and hurriedly ended another call, waving at her child that she was coming.

“I really need to rush or else we’ll miss our flight. But give my love to your dear wife and ask her to call me sometime. It’s been so long since I heard from her, she has totally disappeared.” She said and swiftly turned to leave, leaving Christian confused.

But the next moment, she stopped and turned as if she remembered something important. “Oh, by the way, is it a girl or a boy?” She inquired.

Christian creased his forehead. “Girl or boy?” He asked, suddenly feeling his heart drumming against his chest.

“Your wife Scarlet was pregnant when I last heard from her. So it’s a girl, boy, or twins?” She asked again, but her mobile phone started ringing, distracting her.

“So sorry, I really need to rush.” She said and ran out while picking up her call in the process, and Christian was left stunned, watching her leaving the café.

He stood rooted in his place as if his legs lost the ability to walk, but the next moment, he dashed outside the cafe to question her but the cab left in front of him and he cursed under his breath, watching the cab from behind.

“Author Scarlet? My wife?? What the fuck is missing??” He screeched, pulling his hair in frustration, and slammed his fist on the pillar.
