Elijah

“What’s the matter, boo? Don’t I please you tonight?”

The little redhead in my bed shot me sad puppy dog eyes as she puffed her bottom lip out in a pout. Before I could answer, she slipped her hand under the covers and cupped my cock, stroking my balls gently. Part of me embraced it, but the other wanted to shove her away and tell her to leave.

“You’re doing fine,” I said but couldn’t reassure her any more than that. She was doing fine—she was a fucking escort, for God’s sake. It was her job to do fine. The worst part was, she was one of my regulars, and I still couldn’t get into the heat of fucking her—not since I’d seen that woman at the fundraiser party.

Ava.

That’s who I wanted to fuck right now, not this redhead in my bed. I didn’t know her name; I’d never asked. I simply called her Red.

“You can take me in the ass if you want,” Red purred. “If it will make you feel better.”

I wasn’t sure it would, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I turned her over on the bed, pushed her down into the pillow roughly, and teased her asshole for a moment with my cock. Then I rammed one finger in and then another. She moaned, panting, and giggled a bit, so I plowed into her, feeling that tight little ass clamp around my throbbing dick. I groaned, thrusting, heart racing in my chest as I pounded into her. The harder I fucked her, the louder the girl got, and it only drove me further. As I fucked her, I imagined it was Ava.

“Don’t stop,” she whimpered, and in another few moments, I came, filling her completely. Red forced my body to cling against hers for a moment as we caught our breath, panting.

“Was that good for you?” she asked, purring like a cat as I pulled out of her and stood to dispose of the condom. Red watched me do this, her eyes following me from one end of the floor to the other. I grabbed my billfold from the dresser and handed her five crisp one-hundred-dollar bills.

“No need to stay,” I said. “It was great, thanks.”

Red looked taken aback, and her freckled face frowned with concern. “Is something wrong?” she asked. I merely shrugged, reaching to the floor to hand her the bra I’d taken off her a few hours ago.

“Nothing is wrong,” I said. “I’m just not in the mood for company.”

She didn’t look pleased with me kicking her out, but she got dressed and stuffed the money into her bra anyway. I had to watch her carefully because an expensive pocket watch had vanished right under my nose the last time she was here.

“I’ll see you later,” she said stonily, closing the door hard behind her.

I lay in bed in the dark for a few minutes with a smirk on my lips, staring at the glimmer of light dancing on the ceiling. I’d hoped that a nice fuck would get me to stop thinking about that Ava girl, but if anything, it had driven me to want her more. I did not understand why, either. Was it how she’d looked at me when I’d handed her the purse? With annoyance in her eyes—distaste? Women never looked at me like that. Not ever. But she had, and suddenly I was compelled. I was nothing more to her than some rich snob, and she’d already been clear she wasn’t willing to give me that chance.

I might persuade her in a different direction.

No, I would persuade her in a different direction.

I retrieved my cell phone from the nightstand next to my bed before dialing Malcolm’s number. It was late, and he was probably asleep, but I paid him for everything Elijah-Esque related … even if he didn’t like it.

“I need that girl’s number,” I said when he answered. Evidently, he had been sleeping, but I was too excited to care. “Ava, from the Meadowbrook fundraiser. Can you get it for me?”

“I can do anything, sir,” Malcolm said. “But can this wait until the morning?”

I looked over at the clock. It was almost three AM. I wasn’t used to waiting. Unless I wanted a pissed-off woman I barely knew shunning me from her life before I even had a chance, I’d better wait.

I hated waiting.

“That’s fine,” I said, rubbing my face in annoyance. I knew I didn’t have a choice this time. “Don’t forget.”

“I’m sure you’ll remind me, sir,” Malcolm said and hung up.

I plugged my phone in, turned off the lamp next to my bed, and fell into a restless sleep.
