Sending Him Away

ONE YEAR LATER

The family sat for dinner and ate quietly, no one said anything that could trigger Alex's anger. For past a year now his parents have been trying to find a solution to Alex's problem. He visited different therapists just to find a solution to what is wrong with him but it was all still the same.

At first, they thought it was his school and his parents changed his school to a better private one, they kept changing it but still, there was no change, it kept getting worse instead of getting better.

The last therapist he visited told them not to do or say anything that will trigger his anger. He told Alex's parents what was wrong with him but his mother would never accept the fact.

Emily tried her best to always be with him no matter what, he would yell at her but she will still always play with him.

His parents have tried keeping it from the media, the whole country almost knew about his problem when Alex got angry at a party last year, has young as he was he destroyed the party before he was knocked out.

The reporters put the news online and it spread like wildfire but due to how influential his father was, the news died down.

Although his grandfather also helped in getting the news out of the internet, their grandparents were now aware of Alex's issue but Charlie told them not to worry about it and made up a lie about Alex accidentally taking alcohol at the party.

Since changing his school didn't work, he started getting home-schooled but everything all seems like a waste of time and effort cause he keeps getting worst every day.

"So mum, I got an A in my test today." Emily giggled and her mother smiled.

"Am proud of you honey." Her father said and she smiled.

"I hate tests," Alex muttered and they all kept quiet not knowing what to say.

"It's okay to hate it Alex but it's very simple." Emily said with a smile.

"No, it's not."

"Yes it is, it's just hard for you cause you don't know it."

"Don't talk to me like that." He yelled and picked up the knife on the table and cut Emily's hand.

She screamed and their parents rushed to them, their father rushed to Emily as she bled while their mum rushed to Alex.

"Alex put the knife down." His mother said trying to get close to him, the guards were about to rush to him but his mother stopped them.

"Get away from me, if you come closer I will kill you." He yelled and threw the knife towards a guard, he bent and the knife hit the wall.

"Get away from me." He yelled and threw things at them.

"I hate you, I hate you all." He roared and held his hair, his mum hugged him tightly and pinned him down.

"Don't touch me." He yelled and his mum cried as she held him down.

The doctor rushed in and attended to Emily, her father carried her to her room as she was losing so much blood.

Alex finally calmed down and hugged his mother tightly in tears.

"Mummy am a monster, I hurt Emily, am a monster."

"No baby, you are not a monster, don't cry."

"Emily is going to hate me." He cried and his mother wiped his tears.

"She won't, she won't hate you, she loves you so much." She said and helped him up, she helped him to his room and watched him till he fell asleep.

She sighed in relief and rushed to Emily's room to see her dad watching her with the doctor.

"How is he?" Charlie asked not shifting his gaze from Emily.

"He is asleep." She replied and Emily opened her eyes weakly.

"Mum is Alex okay?"

"Yes baby, he is fine. Just rest okay?"

"Mummy tell Alex am not mad at him, I heard him crying that I will hate him, I don't hate Alex." She said in tears and her mum hugged her.

"He knows that baby, don't cry."

"Hmm, can I see you guys outside?" The doctor asked Mr&Mrs McCall and they nodded, they all walked out of Emily's room immediately she fell asleep and stood in the hallway.

"I know what is wrong with your son."

"Really? What?" Mrs. McCall asked eagerly.

"He has bipolar disorder."

"No he doesn't, my son doesn't have bipolar disorder, he is just going through a phase and he will get over it."

"Enough Jessica, five doctors confirmed that he has bipolar disorder but you won't just accept the fact and you know what? He isn't living here anymore, am sending him away." Charlie said angrily and brought out his phone.

"What? You can't send him away, that won't help him."

"And this would? He almost killed Emily."

"He is our son Charlie, we can't send him away."

"He is your son not mine, I can't have a child as a monster and this will be the last time he will ever be in this house, I am sending him where you will never find him."

"Charlie don't do this, this isn't the solution please, we know what is wrong with him already then let's help him."

"That kid can never be helped, we have visited lots of therapists he has taken more than a thousand pills and he is still getting worse."

"Mr. McCall...." The doctor trailed off earning a glare from him.

"Dad, dad please don't send me away," Alex yelled in tears and ran out of his room, he has been listening to their conversation.

"Please Charlie." His mother begged.

"Dad please, am sorry please." Alex cried and held his dad's legs as five huge men walked towards them.

"Daddy please, don't send me away, mum please tell dad not to send me away." He begged as the men carried him.

"Charlie please, don't let them take him away Charlie, please." His mother begged as they carried him out of the mansion. Charlie ignored her and walked away, Jessica fell on her knees and cried her eyes out.

Emily smiled happily feeling excited to see Alex and tell him she is not mad at him. She got dressed for school with the help of the maids and walked out of her room happily.

She got downstairs and paused on seeing her mum in tears and her dad with a stern look while Alex wasn't there.

"Mum." She called and her mum hurriedly wipe her tears noticing her presence.

"Emily, come and have breakfast." She sniffed and Emily frowned.

"Mum, did something happen to Alex?"

"No, Alex is fine, come have breakfast."

"No, where is Alex?" She asked.

"I sent him away." Her father replied and she turned to him.

"You did what?" She yelled and her dad stood up and walked to her.

"It's for your own good, he hurt you."

"Yeah and so? Dad, I don't care if Alex kills me, I will always be happy no matter what as long as I see him every day."

"It's for your own good."

"Where is my brother?" She yelled and moved away from him.

"I can't tell you Emily, but he is somewhere safe and he is fine."

"Why did you send him away? Why?" She yelled in tears and threw her bag at him.

"I will forever hate you for this dad, I swear with everything I have." She said and ran back to her room in tears.

Jessica burst into another round of tears watching her family fall apart.
