Chapter 17| Save By Clark

I slowly entered the VIP room where my client was waiting. My chest throbbed with the nervousness I was feeling.

I was still not getting used to it. Every time I face something like this, I still feel new. I shut my eyes tightly and force myself to not be led by fear.

I dramatically opened my eyes and saw an old man sitting on a couch; smoking a cigar.

"Hey, slut. Come here..." he called me at the same time, motioning his hand as if he was saying to move closer to his direction. I could do nothing but approach him. I sat quietly next to him and bowed my head. Even though I wasn't looking at him, I could feel the stare he was throwing at me while sipping a glass of expensive wine.

"Why are you still wearing your mask? Did you forget to take it off?" he suddenly asked out of curiosity and put the glass of wine on the glass table.

I chose to not answer him. I remained silent and felt the surroundings. I heard him sigh because of the behavior I showed towards him.

Just because he didn't get any response from me, he began to caress my thigh which made me startle. My heart started to beat so loud.

Every hair of my entire body stood up because of the fear and nervousness I felt.

His forehead creased after seeing my reaction. He cleared his throat and looked at me intently. Looked like he was contemplating things.

A minute passed by, he moved his face closer to mine. Felt like he would like to kiss me but suddenly, it did not happen when I stood up immediately.

Shocked was visible in his face because of what I did. But in a snap, his facial expression turned into anger.

"What's your f*cking problem?!" he hissed and slapped the top of the glass table with his full force which made me startle. It gave me a double fear. My hands were shaking as I tightly grabbed the hem of the thin cloth I was wearing.

"I...I can't—" I stuttered. I couldn't continue what I wanted to say. I swallowed hard and shut my eyes tightly; collecting any courage left inside of me.

"I can't. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," I stammered and I almost stumbled as I hurriedly left the VIP room just to escape from him.

After the day Clark kissed me, there was something inside of me that I didn't wanna be kissed by somebody else. I wanted to treasure that kiss. I wanted to treasure our kiss.

"What the f*ck?! Come back here!" he shouted in anger.

I looked behind me and my eyes widened after I realized he's following me. He was running to chase me.

My heartbeat got triple times faster than usual.

"What the f*ck! I ALREADY PAID YOU!!!" he screams angrily at the top of his lungs.

My knees were shaking as I ran. I continued to take a step forward even though I knew I could barely run because of the numb feeling I felt from fear. My vision seemed spinning and felt like I'm going to vomit because of extreme anxiety.

When I turned into the hallway, I was stopped by someone. He was holding my left arm tightly which made me wince in pain.

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"

I slowly shifted my gaze to him. I was surprised in horror after realizing it was my client. I could see the intensity of anger welled up in his eyes. They were red. I gulped hard. My heart started beating like a bass drum.

"I PAID YOU SLUT! SO, DO YOUR F*CKING JOB!!!"

"What's going on here?"

We were interrupted by a soft voice coming from behind me which temporarily stopped the tension.

Wait! Did I hear it correctly? The voice seemed familiar.

"Oh! Mr. Clark..." my client said as if he recognized the person behind me.

My eyes widened after hearing it.

What?! Did my client say Clark?

I shut my eyes tightly because the thought of what I heard earlier was the name of my childhood friend and I'm probably sure he was the one who's standing right behind me. I've already recognized his voice.

I immediately touched my face. Assuring if my mask was still on my face. I sighed in relief after I felt it was still on my face.

"This sl*t is blah blah blah..."

I was no longer able to listen to what my client was saying. I couldn't focus right now. All that I could think of is how to escape in this kind of situation. I didn't want Clark to know my real identity.

It will kill me like hell if he discovers it this time.

I knew I couldn't hide this forever. I will tell him about my situation but not this time.

Clark suddenly grabbed my right arm and pulled me closer to him. My left arm was freed by the old man's hand because of what he did.

"She's going with me," he stated in a cold voice. He held my right arm tightly; enough to make me stand still by his side.

"But—"

"Do you want me to pull out my shares in your company?" he immediately interrupted what the old man was going to say by threatening him. My client seemed dumbfounded by what he heard. So am I.

He looked at Clark intently. Analyzing if he was serious then, later on, he shifted his gaze in my direction. I saw how intense he gritted his teeth before he walked away.

"Are you okay, Magda?" Clark asked in a concerned voice and hurriedly took off the leather jacket he was wearing. He gently wrapped it around my almost naked body.

I shifted my gaze to him and shookly nodded in response.

He sighed after seeing my reaction. His eyes look worried.

"Let's go outside. Let's get out of here," he suggested and pulled me outside the entertainment club.

"Magda!" I looked back to the club when I heard Bel's voice calling me in the distance but I could no longer see her because the darkness filled the place.

"Don't look back," Clark said in a stern voice as he held my hand tightly.

"Keep your eyes on the road," he added.

I breathed deeply and nodded at him as I reciprocated the intensity of how he held my hand.
