CHAPTER 8

Aurora was anxious, that fool hadn't come back ever since that night and she was going crazy. She needed to do something in order to forget what she was going through. She found herself a part time job to keep herself busy. She had money but it was good to work too.

Tired from her shift she clocked out and began to walk back home. It was an exercise. Her apartment was just a few blocks away. She was nearly at her apartment when a black car stopped by her side and she stopped too. Who was this daring?

The window opened and the devil himself was staring at her. She knew what he wanted so she opened the door and get inside.

“I thought you will never show up,” she sarcastically said as she looked at the man.

“I didn't want to but I have no choice now. Where are you coming from?” he didn’t ask but demanded.

“I was seeing my boyfriend, why?” she sneered at him.

“Since when do you have a boyfriend?” that answer didn’t sit well with him.

“I'm shocked that you can ask such a question. I'm young and not married so of course its normal for me to have one,” she mocked him as she answered with a scowl on her face.

“That was so soon!” he wasn’t buying it.

“Didn't you brutally reject me?” she was so angry when she thought of that.

“Weren't you also the same person who told me that your door will be open?” he frowned at her.

“That was then and this is now. So, what do you want from me?” she was a nit impatient when she asked this.

“Let's get settled first and then we can talk,” he said.

Aurora was taken somewhere again and yet all she wanted to do was just sit down and relax.

They returned to that house where it all started again. She was now familiar with it. She looked for something to eat without any permission. She found some apples and she picked one and began to eat. Lucian just looked at her and shook his head.

“You must be hungry,” he teased as he watched her eat

“I am, I sort of overworked myself,” she said.

“Is that so?”

“I won't spare you the details. So, spill, why are we here again?” she asked impatiently.

“I want you to marry me,' Lucian told her straightforward.

Aurora choked on her apple and Lucian helped her by patting her on her back. When she was feeling okay, she looked at him.

“Are you kidding me right now? I'm not in the mood to play with you today, Lucian,” she angrily rebuked him.

“Neither am I,” he seriously said.

“I thought you didn't want anything from me,” she sneered at the man.

“Now I do. I want you to become my wife,” he openly stressed his proposal.

“And if I refuse?” she raised her eyebrows in challenge.

“Then I will call the police and tell them how a young girl like you keeps a gun in her apartment. I guess it's not even registered and it may be related to a few crimes too,” he smirked as he threatened her.

“You wouldn't dare!” she yelled at him; her eyes red with anger.

How can this man be so shameless, to threaten her like this?

“I'm a businessman Aurora; I can do anything that will benefit me. So, choose which way you want it to end,” he threatened her and she felt powerless for the first time.

How did he even find that gun? She hid it so well and yet he saw it. When she wasn’t home, was he going through her things? Was he a perverted stalker or something?

If that gun got released to the force, then it will be the end of her. She didn’t want the law enforcement to be on her tail at all. He looked very serious and judging by the way he hates her he wouldn't hesitate to send her to jail.

On the other hand, if she marries him then she would get the man she wanted and get more steps closer to her original goal. It was a win-win situation for her and something like this, she shouldn't decline. She was here with a purpose and it was now time for her to do that and get the answers she wanted, even if it means using those who were by her side.

“I don't want to be arrested, that's for sure, so I will marry you,” she said in a defeated tone but secretly she was dancing a victory dance and couldn’t wait to get that certificate.

“So, you are admitting that you are a criminal?” he was very angry with that, he had no idea what this little girl was into it and it bothers him a lot.

“Indeed I am. Who never committed a few crimes in their life? It's you after all who came to me unless you changed your mind,” she sneered as she looked at the man coldly.

“I haven’t changed my mind, even for a single bit. Here is the contract, read it through and sign it today,” there was no way he was going to let her go scot-free.

“I won't have to go back home with it?” she asked curiously as she took the contract to check it.

“No, I don't trust you enough. I have to add another clause too,” he bluntly said as he looked at her with a teasing look on his face.

“What is it again?” she was getting pissed off with this man.

“If you are in a relationship then you have to break it off. While you are married to me, you aren't allowed to be with another man except me,” he was so dead serious when he said that.

“I can't believe you are this stingy,” she teased him, loving how jealous he was already before they were together.

I'm not, I'm just being thorough,” he said flatly refusing to acknowledge that he wanted her all to himself.
