Chapter 8
In about a matter of a few seconds we arrived at the Park. I saw many beautiful people walking at the square of the park into the Disney Hall. The golden lights were lit all around the massive hall, it looked grand in the evening as it was getting dark.
"I think they're having some special party here today."
"Oh yes, today is Disney's day." I remembered, it's held three times a year. "Did you choose this place because of the festival?" I asked George in amazement.
"No, I didn't even remember the festival." He shrugged his shoulders. "Gosh, people are so beautiful here."
"Yeah!" I answered fixing my eyes on people, admiring their beautiful dresses, shoes and sparkling things they wore. "This' really a fairytale land."
"Where dreams come true," George completed. I gazed into his eyes with my lips parted into a slight smile, I knew what's he's talking about. "Remember you're my girlfriend tonight, we'll act as lovers."
"Wouldn't you scare the real lover away?"
"No I wouldn't rather, you'll detect him by his jealousy."
"Yah, true." I blushed at his witty yet true statement. Anyone who's jealous would be truly interested in me, it takes only a true lover to be jealous finding his crush with another man. Little would he know that this' my brother.
We walked to the reception, were we got registered. George bought us pizza and chilly strawberry juice at the counter. I really love this, he's acting the perfect boyfriend. He holds my hand as we stroll to the Disney hall. I hope to find love here. My sister and dad think my life would be useless as my wolf has been taken from me but it wouldn't work the way they think. If I find someone who loves me, I'll go over to live with him. There I'll find peace and forget about their rejection.
Inside the hall was more glamorous than the outside, I got to see very many people. Some wore dresses quite funny that you couldn't stop laughing, I laughed so hard that my brother would pat me on the shoulders to stop. My laughter was part of frustration, I intended laughing out my sorrows. It was time for the traditional movie acting, the lights slightly went dim as we awaited the play to begin, everyone's eyes were focused on the stage. My eyes wandered around me, staring at those around me, unexpectedly they fell on a very handsome young man. He stood over at the corner with his pack of popcorn.
His beauty is captivating fixing me to the spot like I was a zombie. His radiant blue eyes are bright and charming, his oval face has a sharp jawline, and his skin is beautiful peach, complimenting his shiny black hair which is nicely styled. I blinked my eyes in disbelief, his eyes lit with a romantic glow. My legs are shaking, my hormones, running riot at my expense, no man had made me feel this way before, not even my love for today, George, I smiled to myself at this. I intended to inform him of what was going on when he turned and suspiciously stared at me, his eyes ran from me to the mysterious guy that's taking my breath away.
He blushed, I blushed shyly in return looking downwards. "You've seen what I was saying?" He widened his eyes in amazement. "I told you, now you see my prophecy has come true."
"Yeah!" I smiled shyly.
The stage was now lit with golden light, the characters were now present on the stage. All eyes were now on them, no one was looking elsewhere. I tried to focus on the stage but each time I found my eyes retreating to the corner where the charming young man stood, and each time I looked our eyes collided.
"You can't focus any longer, you've found your man, no longer flirting with me!" George teased. He extended his face towards the side of my face and kissed it. "Doing this to make your crush jealous!" He whispered in my ears, I blushed, turned my eyes to look at my crush, surprisingly our eyes met again.
"He seems jealous," I muttered, careful not to let my crush suspect anything. My entire being at the party had my mind on him, if I wasn't stealing glances, I would be thinking of him.
After a while, George sighted one of his friends he attended high school with. It's been a long time since he met with the girl, "She was my bestie," he said before hastening to catch up with her. "Be careful!" He playfully teased as he left my side to talk to the girl.
I continued fixing my eyes on the stage, Ophelia was now being acted, one of my favorite romance movies. For once, my mind got focused on the stage. I laughed hard at the instance where the prince did something funny while Ophelia was watching, his role here was so witty and unserious, and he played it well. I forgot that my crush was still somewhere inside the hall, the funny characters and scenes in the play had taken my attention away from him for a while.
"Hello!" A deep seductive voice said beside me. I looked and to my utmost surprise, it was the man that wouldn't let me focus my attention on the stage. A slight smile lit on his face, I looked much closer into that charming handsome face, it's who I never expected.
"What!" I exclaimed without even realizing it, immediately I did this I feared for my life. It was Romeo, the cursed Alpha. My brother would surely disappear off my side if he stood here and he came. Romeo was once an Alpha of the Crescent Pack, my pack. He was cursed in his previous life by the moon goddess for killing his father in order to take control of the pack before his time. The curse changed him to an ultima wolf upon his reincarnation, a mere look from his eyes if you made him angry would certainly destroy you. Many people didn't know about this except us that come from the Alpha family, many girls have deserted him once they discovered who he is.
Romeo is extremely handsome, a billionaire, I heard he builds his castle far away from everyone but no one knows the exact location of his castle. I got to first set eyes on him when he attended my dad's birthday. Dad told me once he's one thousand years old but from his appearance, he's just in his late twenties. He continued staring at me expecting me to say something but I just can't, fear wouldn't let me. I contemplate on how I'll leave his presence without causing any scene or arousing his anger, that would be disastrous.
"Please reply me, I know you're afraid but recently I've tried, although hard, to keep my anger under check." Sincerity laid in his voice but I couldn't just trust him, anger is an emotion, it comes voluntarily at times meaning it could be aroused when least expected.
"I'm so sorry. I can't…" I started retracing my steps away from him, I watched as Romeo gazed at me with disappointment and sorrows in his eyes. I felt pity for him but I couldn't just get close to him, he might change in a moment. I ran out of the hall.
