5. The Kidnap
SABRINA
The days flew by and time moved in a speed of light. Two weeks had passed since that bizarre encounter with my two supposed demon kings.
As expected, I hadn't set my eyes on them ever since they intruded into my peaceful rest on the roof of the club.
I was so sure my mum sent them to me. I had walked over to query her over the issue some two days afterwards and she outrightly denied it.
What irked me more was that my interrogation made her strengthen her claim that my supposed demon kings would come for me some day and it was very close.
When Sharon tried to speak up, she went full bisserk on her, accusing sharon of instigating me against her. I was so flabbergasted at my mother's unruly behaviour.
I didn't know if I should scream at her or just break down at her feet, pour my tears on her so she could see how her behaviour was hurting me.
Having hit the roof with her attitude, I stormed out of her untidy apartment. I've tried to be so civil with my mother. I've tried to talk to her and let her realise that she is just on a one way track to becoming insane but she won't hear me out.
Going as far as hiring men to play her dirty jobs was sickening. I mean what would she gain from all that?
What exactly would she gain from keeping me unmarried?
Does she want me to end up becoming lonely and miserable? Why is my mother doing this to me?
Little drops of tears sprinkled down my cheeks as those bedevilling thoughts ransacked my mind.
"Sabrina I really...."
Sharon speech cut across my thoughts. I turned to face her, realising we were in my apartment.
We had gone for some wedding gown shopping. It had been such a hectic day.
My eyes trailed towards the shopping bags I was gripping on to and I let it fall.
"Are you crying sweetheart?"
I shook my head with a faint smile but it was off no use lying to Sharon. She read me like an open book, not to mention my tears that gave away my sorrowful thoughts.
"You have always been a bad liar and a bad pretender" Sharon teasingly said to me.
"I can see the fucking tears Sabrina. What's wrong? You should be ecstatic. Your wedding is coming up"
Yes I should be ecstatic but how can I when my mother is literally doing everything possible to end my union with Henry?
"Mom" the faint whisper left my throat.
Sharon nodded her head and squeezed her lips in tightly.
She understood me.
"I don't know why she is doing all these to me Sharon" I bemoaned, struggling to control my knees from buckling to the ground.
"Sabrina look your mum just needs time to come to terms with the fact that you are not a young girl anymore and you don't believe in those fairy tales" Sharon attempted to reassure me.
"We've given her enough time Sharon. But she seems to only get worse!" I retorted back.
I disliked how she and Henry always defended my mum animalistic behaviour.
Sharon flashed me a calm smile which got me sighing.
"I'm sorry for yelling sharon" I apologetically smiled at her.
"Sharon if mum still continues this way then I'll by no means send her to an asylum. You and Henry have been the one stopping me even though you guys can clearly see how unruly she acts towards you both" I determinedly added.
"Don't think of all that now. Let's just focus on getting you married to your prince charming ok. Once you both are married your mum will definitely have to accept the reality" Sharon pats my shoulder.
I pulled her in for a hug. She was my backbone. A sister and a best friend.
"I love you my dearest" Sharon laughed as she rubbed on my back.
The shattering sound of glass breaking got us jumping in our skins and abruptly bringing our embrace to its end. It came from the bathroom. Our gaze snapped to the direction of the noise.
"I think someone is in the house" Sharon whispered to me and my heart sank into an abyss.
"I'll call 911" I muttered underneath my breath.
At once the lights began flickering which sent shills down our body before it completely went off.
"Sharon stay by me" I whisper fearfully, my hands rummaging for my phone inside one of the many shopping bags.
Suddenly heavy footsteps could be heard making its way towards us.
Horror soared in the air as well as the extreme fear that came with it.
Not being able to find my phone, I held on to a frightened Sharon in a bid for the front door.
Pushing through the darkness, we both shuffled our legs to the door when Sharon let out a terrified scream from behind me.
Her hands slipped out of mine and I heard a loud thud on the floor.
"Where do you think you are heading to Demon queen!"A groggy voice bellowed.
"Sabrina help me! Let me go please! SABRINA!" Sharon cried out to me.
In a sharp pivot, I turned to make out some unknown fellows dragging Sharon.
My vision is weak in the darkness and I can barely see who it is that's dragging my friend.
"Let go of her!" I yell trying to mask my fearful state and slowly coming towards the direction of Sharon's cries.
"Let me go! Who are you both!" Sharon screamed.
"Shut up demon queen!" A deep voice ordered.
Suddenly, the room became enveloped by a strange, blinding white light that seemed to almost flood my vision. For a split second, I can see the unknown figures clearly. They were monster like creatures--the type one would see in the movie.
My heart sank for a second time and I instantly felt my stomach churned.
The light sucks them in a second and the entire room becomes dark again.
"Sharon!" I yell, running towards the empty space and grasping for the air.
Confusion and panic became the ambiance of the atmosphere and I am left all alone in the dark.
What just fucking happened?
