Chapter 5

Ronald's POV

"David, I've noticed that there are always people hanging around the office annex these days." I stood in front of the second floor window of the office and said to David.

"Indeed, things have been less than secure at the various wolf pack offices lately, and I've long had the idea of taking strong security measures."

David took a sip of black tea and continued.

"There's always a girl coming in for advice on how to get into the Blackout Pack these days. she also says that she identifies as a Wind Pack doctor."

"Find an excuse and warn her not to come back." I looked around, and I knew there was impatience in my voice.

"The top brass of the Black Night Pack are not as harmonious as they seem, and the smuggling of slaves must be connected to them. We have to take action to find out why they did it!"

I felt a pang of dizziness, and the emotions I had been suppressing these days made me irritable. At times like this, I think of that special girl I met at the border.

She was different from all the girls I had met in the past. She was brave, strong in force, and swung her dagger with the agility of a cheetah. I thought if I could meet her in the future, I would have to trap her around and watch her carefully.

I had been in Wind Pack for almost a month, and even though I had spent a lot of time searching the streets and alleys for signs of the slave trade organization, I hadn't been able to make it.

"Charlie wants me to be able to find the real killer as soon as possible, but there are no clues at all. This case is too much of a problem." I said, shaking my head and looking back at David, hoping he could offer me a little help.

"Maybe going into the slave trade will reveal something new." David said.

"I heard from one of my spies that Wind Pack's slave ring is recruiting a group of fighters these days. Because the borders of the Wolf Pack are not too peaceful, slaves are transported to various Wolf Packs will encounter a lot of kidnappers on their way, and the leaders of the slave trade want to protect their interests, and they prefer not to risk transporting slaves just for some small money."

Hearing the thoughts David offered me, I thought I could go ahead and try my hand at being a hit man for a slave trade group. This identity might help me get first-hand information about slave trafficking.

"When will the recruitment end?" I inquired of David with some urgency.

"Let me see." He looked down and flipped through the memo. "That's tomorrow, tomorrow is the last day of the recruitment meeting. The address is behind a wooden door on the second left of the street light on Maiden Lane."

The next day I dressed up as much as possible like a qualified fighter and took advantage of the fact that there were not many people on the streets in the morning. I went to Maidenhaven Lane.

"Second street light to the left?" I looked puzzled at the stake in front of me, which was about as tall as I was, with a dying oil lamp hanging above it.

"This is probably what is called a street lamp." I surveyed the guy in front of me. I guess I should have called it embarrassingly ragged.

I looked to the left of the streetlight and sure enough there was a wooden door.

As I approached, a stack of neatly split beech wood was basing next to the wooden door. One end of the wood was painted in a bright red. It was like a clear symbol instructing me to push the door open quickly.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves, then pushed the door in.

"Bro, you're here to apply for a job as a thugs, right?" A bearded man tapped me on the shoulder and squeezed the muscles in my arm.

I nodded to him. "Yes, I'm Tyler."

"Good, you fit the bill. I'm Mike. I'm in charge of recruiting fighters for now."

"When do I get to meet your boss?" I asked the bearded man.

He laughed loudly and said to me, "Bro, you know you talk like that like an inspector guard in prisoner arrest negotiations."

I was afraid he would find out who I was, so I hurriedly said, "Who doesn't want to make money quickly? To be honest, I haven't done a big job in a long time."

I quickly mingled with them, and Mike revealed to me that the big boss of this slave trade organization was coming today. I was very excited to hear that, and I thought that soon I would be able to solve the case.

"But you are not qualified to meet the biggest boss of the organization." Mike said to me as he smoked a cigarette.

"Why?" I asked him suspiciously.

"Only the central figure of our organization can approach the boss, you ordinary henchmen are not even allowed to see the boss's face." Mike switched hands to smoke.

"Our boss doesn't have time to lift up you minions right now." Mike said as he exhaled a smoke ring.

"Is he very busy lately? Because of what?" I asked Mike immediately after.

At least from the looks of it, he was the breakthrough in my investigation of the case.

Mike stomped out his cigarette and looked at me warily. "Don't try to figure out the boss, Tyler. do what you have to do, learn to shut up and do something and then get paid to leave."

After hearing him say this, I had the good sense not to ask any more questions.

Mike was called away, and I guessed he was going to get ready for the boss.

I looked around and followed Mike quietly.

A group of people gathered in a small square, surrounded by a ring in the innermost person should be Mike's so-called boss. I couldn't get a good look at his face, the only thing I could be sure of was that he was a man.

Fortunately, he and several other organizers did not notice me, and I lowered my head, searching around for a place that would provide me with a place of seclusion

My eyes rested on a thick clump of trees, next to which was a solid wall. I could hide in the gap between the two, so it would be hard for others to find me.

I leaned my back against the wall, tilted my head, and stared wide eyed. I had to risk having to listen to them.

Charlotte's POV

I was changing the gauze on the ankle of a child who was moaning in pain.

"Andy, you're such a brave boy." I wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, "Do you feel any better?" I asked him.

"Better than the last two days, thank you, Miss Ally." He smiled down at me breathlessly.

"Get a good night's sleep, and soon you'll be able to go for a walk." I reassured him and tucked him in.

I've met so many patients like Andy in the month I've been at Wind Pack.

One of the benefits of working in a hospital is that you can learn a lot of useful information about Wind Pack. My current Wind Pack is still an ordinary pack of the northern wolves as before, while the Black Night Pack is the largest pack in the north.

The pack that can rival the Black Night Pack is the Shadow Pack, the largest pack in the south, but the relationship between the two packs is unusually peaceful, and there is no conflict, and there is a delicate balance between them.

The Alpha of the Wind Pack, Chesley, is a witch and werewolf hybrid, seeking power and eternal life, with no heir.

Gary Olsen is the current Alpha of the Shadow Wolf Pack. Gavin Olsen is the former Alpha of the Shadow Wolf Pack, a gentle werewolf who is very popular with his people. But now he is heard to have gone mad. No one knows why.

Charlie Carson is the Alpha of the Darkness Pack, son born, wife died in childbirth. Ronald Carson, 20 years old, son of the Alpha of the Darkness Pack.

I heard that this heir of the Black Night Pack was so handsome that many girls would rather be his slaves than dream of meeting him.

When I heard this theory, I was very disdainful. "Even if you are handsome, you can only rely on your father's power. I don't see any real ability in him.

Just look at the attitude of the staff of the Black Night Pack office in Wind Pack towards the people of Wind Pack. He must be an arrogant, condescending, selfish guy too." .

"Dear Amy, I'm here to change your medication." I knocked on the door of Amy's hospital room and asked inside.

"It's okay, please come in," Amy said softly from inside the room.

I carried the cotton balls, iodine and gauze, Amy was used to me looking like this. In the werewolf pack, doctoring is not a profession reserved for girls. In fact, the ladies preferred to stay home with their children and serve their husbands. Although they didn't want to.

Female doctors like me, who are very familiar with medical skills and treatment, are a great help to female patients who are injured. I usually help them with minor problems that are difficult to talk about.

"I'm feeling better today." Amy said happily to me.

"That's good. You know you're the bravest patient I've ever met." I complimented Amy, which made her look even happier.

"Thank you, Miss Ally. Wait!" She said to me as she took my hand.

"Miss Ally, I asked my mother and she said she had never heard of Kayla-Watson, and she said that the last name Watson is rare in Wind Pack." Amy looked at me apologetically.

"Oh, it's okay." I reassured her, but I still couldn't stop feeling lost.

"I've asked a lot of people, and they all say they don't know Kayla-Watson, and they've never even heard of Watson." Amy held my hand, and she looked at me with tender eyes.

I couldn't believe it was only five years later and no one remembered us.

It was like Kalay and I had never been in Wind Pack. It was so confusing.

"But I have something I want to share with you." Amy's expression turned serious.

"My father's leader heard that I had been kidnapped by kidnappers, and he reminded my father of the kidnappers who smuggle in slaves for sale, who keep good-looking wolf girls in solitary confinement and sell them as gifts then to the top brass of the major wolf packs.

Although the various wolf packs had signed a contract prohibiting human smuggling, this could not be prohibited at all. The human trafficking traders would use all kinds of dirty tricks to achieve their goals."

When I got home after work, I lay in bed and pondered over and over what Amy had told me.

"I wonder if the Black Night Pack people would smuggle pretty girls? Maybe that would be a good way for me to go."

I thought randomly, but I was too tired and finally had to drift off to sleep.
