Chapter 3 Antecedents

Ava's POV

I searched the entire garden and finally found her by the abandoned fountain behind the building. To be honest, my heart nearly stopped the moment I saw her.

"My goodness, Kate, how did you get into this mess?"

The dress on Kate's body can no longer be seen in its original color.

"Look what you're wearing here. It's all mud, and I thought it was a rag."

Kate looked at me and gave a not-so-happy smile, which made my heart twitch hard.

Since the death of my parents, Kate has been in my care, and my approach to her care is to try to meet all her needs, and in general not to make her unhappy.

But I also know that as a Luna her character is soft and simple, as a child other wolves can dirty her dress, and then a sorry can get her forgiveness, but she always sneak up and cry.

It was always easy for her to upset herself.

"Well, tell me what happened?" I simply sat down on the fountain table next to her.

She looked embarrassed and pulled at the hem of her skirt, looked up at me and whispered my name.

I have to admit, even at this time, when she's making herself look like a monkey in a mud puddle, she's still pretty enough to make people take their eyes off her.

"I got my dress dirty." She continued.

"It doesn't matter Kate, you know, I never cared about that." I shook my head. "You can get ten or eight of them dirty, it doesn't matter. But you need to tell me why, you didn't come to the meeting wearing this dress."

As well as come to me. I silently added the last sentence in my mind.

"There's nothing necessary." She said. "I'll just go to the meeting and listen to everyone talk anyway. But sis, is Carson at the meeting today?"

I wanted to retort to her, after all, she was Luna of Bright Moon Pack, how could she not be necessary, but hearing her say that in my heart, I was a bit confused, after all, it was the 15th anniversary meeting of establishing the wolf pack, how could Alpha not be there.

I replied with my mouth pretending not to care. "Sure."

"Fine." Kate bristled. "He's been busy."

It's about the Blue Moon Pack, I thought to myself, and it looked like Kate hadn't seen him in a long time.

Even if you are busy, you have to tell her, right?

I patted her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, he'll come see you tomorrow. But ......" I looked her up and down. "Is that what you're going to wear when he comes to see you?"

"How is that possible!" Kate looked at herself, her cheeks a little red. "I'm going to go change."

"And a shower." I added with a big smile, watching her run away from my eyes.

I looked up in the moonlight, the lights in the Pack House window were on one by one, and right at the top of the tall building in the center was Bright Moon Pack's Alpha, Carson.

He is an old-fashioned kind of character who can study anything that happens as a big deal. Perhaps it is also because of this caution that Bright Moon Pack has been able to get the peace and quiet that it has now and has lasted for fifteen years.

That's why I was able to give Kate to him and have a little trust in him.

After the meeting he went headlong into his office, and I didn't see him in person. I walked all the way up the stairs, and his door was left ajar.

When I pushed the door straight open and entered, he was still sitting at his desk, staring blankly at me, a gold pen grasped in his hand.

"Ava."

He seemed to see that I didn't have much goodwill, and waved his hand a little bewildered and a little weary. "What's the matter with you?"

"Of course I did." I said viciously.

"How long has it been since you've been with my sister? Just for that damn Blue Moon Pack?"

He opened his mouth, obviously not expecting me to be so direct, and stammered. "Oh, no. You know Blue Moon Pack has been making moves lately and the people I sent out ...... are of little use."

I interrupted him.

"It doesn't matter. Anyway, I'll take care of this matter, so you don't have to worry about it anymore. All you have to do now is to take good care of my sister Kate during the time I am away. stay with her. Until I come back." I looked down at him after saying that, he still kept a stunned look at me.

"Do your job." I turned around and prepared to go out the door.

Carson's shout came from behind him. "Don't be impulsive. Ava!"

I ignored him.

"Listen Ava," he chased out.

"I know you're very capable, but this is different. It's dangerous, and you should never go alone."

"I take the other guy with me, and then he holds me back?" I said mockingly. "Or watch you sit in this shitty room holding your head in your hands and fretting?"

Carson frowned.

"Well, send me the Blue Moon Pack map tomorrow and just wait for the good results." I patted him on the shoulder and went downstairs.

When I went down he was still standing in place looking at me with the gold pen pinned to his chest.

Kate gave him that pen, I know. But this man, who can sit in his office and fondle the pen his woman gave him, won't even move his legs to walk down and see what the hell his sweetheart has gotten himself into?

I sincerely ask him not to get Kate to persuade me, it will make me unable to resist cursing him out, I promise.

It was already the next morning when I got the map of Blue Moon Wolf City. I'm glad he didn't have any other bullshit reasons to talk me into it this time.

But I also didn't expect that I would meet their Alpha on the way to infiltrate the other wolf pack.

"What a way to go." I exclaimed to Fog.

She didn't pay any attention to me, wondering if she was still thinking about going to the scar or something like that, and only after a while did she open her mouth and ask me. "So what are your plans now?"

My intentions? I pursed my lips, the fine cut on the edge of my lip was vaguely painful, which reminded me of something.

I still remember very clearly the way the madman pounced on me during the previous fight. He did not think about who he wanted to deal with at the time, so he brought me back to his home base.

But since we are already here, if we don't have a good time, how can we afford his enthusiasm?

I thought sarcastically as I slowly got out of bed and walked around the room a few times, moving my arms and legs.

They are all superficial injuries, nothing too serious.

Just then, the door that Caroline had closed suddenly opened. I looked back and there was a man standing in the doorway.

The sun was falling on his body at the moment. His short silver-white hair was illuminated with a soft light. Underneath that light are his delicate eyebrows.

Once again I was lost in thought over the man's features. But the next second his deep eyes looked straight towards me.

There was only cold and stern in those eyes, not the same as I remembered when I saw him.

I could feel my hands trembling slightly.

Gotta buck up, this is not an easy guy to deal with. I said to myself in my mind.

I acted as if I had just woken up and didn't know what was going on, took two steps back, inclined my head, and said to him in a friendly manner.

"Hello?"

Apparently, he didn't really eat me up. He just gazed at me coldly and walked into the room.

"Your name, identity. And why you've come to this place."

My brain spun quickly, trying to remain calm. If I say that I don't know anything about the Blue Moon Pack at this time, I'm afraid that it will be more likely to arouse suspicion. I might as well take advantage of the situation.

"Eh, my name is Bertha, one of the other wolves, as far as here." I looked at him. "Didn't you bring me here?"

It is necessary to make up a fake name, after all, my name in this area can not guarantee that no one knows, violent doctors and so on.

I noticed that his eyelashes quickly dropped and lifted.

"Then you can leave now."

How is this possible!

I immediately put on a face of eager aggravation. "Oh, no. I'll be bullied to death by them if I go back to the wolves now, they falsely accused me before."

"All my things were taken by those bandits, and now I don't even have a place to stay when I go back."

He still had his face on, looking like it had something to do with me. Not to mention, he looked pretty good, but now I just felt abominable.

"I just want a place where I can land." I said lamentingly. "After all, in this world, everything is dangerously strange for a female wolf without her pack. It shouldn't be me who becomes Rouge. If I could stay in your wolf pack, for me, it would simply be a life saver. But I didn't expect ......"

I applauded loudly in my heart for my emotion-filled voice. If there was an acting award in this world, I would be the winner!

Fog slowly interjected in my head. "Being Rouge is strangely dangerous for others, for you, how can it be?"

I know there is something else she hasn't said. Isn't it your desire to become Rouge?

However, such a moving performance also failed to impress this man. His eyes are still as cold as stone.

"Finished?"

I nodded with hot tears in both eyes.

"You need to take a test to join the wolf pack, the pack doesn't raise waste." He announced in a presidential-like accent.

I barely squeezed out the tears hanging in my eyes immediately disappeared without a trace, without the self-consciousness of the acting champion.

Fog is not quiet in my head at all, I can almost see her stomping her feet in anger.

"Can't you disguise yourself a little more? You'll get kicked right out by him like that!"

"No way." I replied in my mind, lifting my head to give him a smile.
