Chapter 3

Lsabella's pov :

Just as I was about to drown, a straw was grabbed by me.

It's my familiar smell.

Although my brain can't think about anything now, I am sure that this person will definitely protect me.

He wrapped something soft around my body, but the sudden arrival of a warm touch made me hotter and hotter, and I wanted to break free of this barrier and hug him directly.

I touched his body and it was cold.

It felt like a man dying of thirst in the desert seeing a cold spring.

I just wanted to hold him and die without letting go.

I got my way, or rather the other side stiffened, but I held him for just a little while and his body burned.

"Be good, hold back a little longer."

I heard him whisper in my ear, and well, I was holding on just a little longer.

Xavier's Pov:

The smell of Lsabella's blood guided me to her.

Then I saw the scene right outside the window that drove me crazy.

Lsabella was unconscious, lying half-naked on the bed.

The Alpha whose wrist I had broken had placed his disgusting hand on Lsabella's face.

My back teeth crunched together and I stopped thinking about any consequences or retreat.

I'm going to kill Liam!

I looked around and noticed that Liam didn't have any Beta with him.

He was the only one here, which was a good opportunity for me to carry out my action.

I sneaked into the room, raised the vase in the corner, and knocked Liam to the ground.

Then I pulled a blanket from the bed and wrapped Lsabella in it.

Her body was hot and seemed uncomfortable, struggling in her sleep.

I took a closer look at Lsabella and luckily she was unharmed.

But her body temperature was too high and I knew she was in pain and had to be cooled down immediately to do so.

It's not far from where we live.

I kicked Liam, who was lying unconscious on the ground, but he didn't respond.

It seems that he will not be able to wake up in a short time.

So I decided to take the risk of bringing Lsabella back to our residence first, I really do not feel comfortable putting her in this place where anyone can enter.

I returned to the residence and immediately filled the bathtub with cool water, picked Lsabella up, and gently put her into the bathtub.

After her body was submerged in the cool water, the flush on her face dissipated.

Her soft hands gripped my arms and refused to let me go.

"Be good," I tenderly dropped a kiss on her forehead, "I'll be right back."

She slowly released my hand and gradually became calmer.

After settling Lsabella, I returned to the scene of the incident and bundled the unconscious Liam into the garden.

The empty garden was the perfect place for execution.

I pressed Liam's head into the garden fountain and let the cold water penetrate Liam's mouth and nose.

It wasn't until three seconds later that he was fished out.

He woke up, kneeling by the fountain and gasping for air.

"What... what do you want! Get off of me! I'm the Alpha of the Fai Moon Pack!"

I didn't say anything, my fingertips brushing lightly against the dagger I carried with me.

"I beg you, as long as you let me go, I will not hold you accountable for your sins!"

I stood behind Liam, the cold, light-like tip of the knife in my hand glinting coldly in the dimly lit garden.

"But you must die today!"

How laid-back I was on the outside, how crazy I was on the inside.

A wolf's eyesight is not affected in the dark.

I took the dagger and aimed it at his finger, and with a single slice, Liam's right index finger was separated from his palm.

His eyes widened in disbelief at the sight before him.

The finger tumbled in the air, landed on the ground, and rolled out a long way again.

I gagged him in advance, and a silent scream appeared on his face.

The fear of the prey was like a predator's stimulant, and I had to make him remember this moment forever.

I grabbed Liam by the hair and forced him to look me straight in the eye.

"Are you afraid now, how dare you hit on Lsabella?"

Suddenly, I felt an unusual dryness in my body, starting from the area of my heart, and flames burned down my veins all over my body.

I fell to my knees, barely supporting my body with the knife.

I felt an image in my mind, a pure white wolf, whose tightly closed eyes suddenly opened to reveal blue eyes like a clear sky.

Yeah, it's after twelve, it's my birthday.

But things don't seem to be as simple as I thought, I actually smelled a fragrance, the fragrance is quite nice, but the smell is getting stronger and stronger, like to drown me.

It was so fragrant that I stopped struggling and slowly closed my eyes.

"Wake up! Don't sleep! "

I opened my eyes in a flash, which was my wolf reminding me.

I pulled out my dagger and stabbed myself in the thigh with one clenched tooth.

"Pop-" there was a snap as if something had broken the connection.

In an instant all my pain was gone, the scent was gone, and I took a big breath of fresh air, like a drowning man back onshore.

But my wolf was also receding, and I felt its image fading until it disappeared.

I felt the sadness and anger from it, and I reached out to touch my heart, and all I could feel was the emptiness in my heart, something important had left me.

I got up from the ground and wondered what had just happened.

Why was this happening?

It was as if I had lost my wolf and something else, and I felt sad inside.

Forget it, I pick up the dagger on the ground and finish the bastard in front of me first!

I executed Liam and returned home when the bathroom door suddenly opened and Lsabella stepped out of the steaming heat.

I looked up at her and froze for a moment.

She was wrapped in only a bath towel, just long enough to cover her hips, with a large area of skin exposed, her white breasts and bare legs right in front of my eyes.

My face turned red, forgetting what I was thinking and why I was angry.

I just found it a little hard to breathe, and desire was quietly reviving in my heart.

Lsabella was looking at me, I panicked and lowered my eyes: "You're awake, are you still uncomfortable?"

"No more."

"I've taken care of it all, you don't have to worry anymore."

Lsabella walked past me, still covered with moisture, a warm scent that seemed to be mixed with a faint scent.

I saw a drop of water drip from her hair, down her bare neck, and slide all the way into the cleavage of her breasts.

My mind went blank for a split second as I recalled those soft touches.

Lsabella suddenly grabbed my hand and I was startled.

Had she been discovered? Or had she remembered?

I was so nervous that I started swallowing.

"Did you kill him? Were you hurt?"

I looked at Lsabella's concerned eyes, but instead I breathed a sigh of relief: "Yes, but I wasn't injured, how could killing such rubbish hurt……"

Lsabella suddenly half crouched down, she found the blood on my pants, her voice instantly raised: "How could you not be injured? Isn't there a wound here?"

From this perspective, Lsabella's whole body was about to be seen by me.

Driven by the last sanity, I grabbed the clothes aside and wrapped Lsabella, "I'll take care of it, you don't have to worry about me."

Lsabella at this moment should also find our state a little awkward, she turned her back on me to drape the clothes.

"You go take care of the wound quickly."

"Got it, I'll be right there."

" ... Thanks to you, I didn't expect to be counted by them."

Does she also know that she's not omnipotent? Then why didn't she let me follow her?

"So ...... you can let me follow you now?"

"Xavier, I'm just worried you're going to get hurt. Every time you encounter something related to me, you are easily impulsive and completely forget to protect yourself first."

I could feel a little bit of aggravation in Lsabella's reproach.

But it is my mission to protect her, how can I stay calm?

We both fell into silence.

"It was Charlotte who did it. She tampered with the wine she gave me. It should be a conspiracy between her and Liam. It is not clear whether there are instructions."

Lsabella returned to her usual state, her tone of voice calmly analyzing the matter.

"Isn't she the Beta of Blue Moon Pack? You only met for the first time, why would she do this?"

"I'm not sure, I had a little contact with her during the banquet, but there was no conflict of interest."

Lsabella shook her head, "I'm so dizzy now, I don't want to think about the problem."

"Then get a good night's sleep, I'll help you investigate."

Lsabella nodded, and I helped her turn off the desk lamp.

"Wait a minute!"

She suddenly got up again and called out to me.

"What's wrong?"

"Xavier, happy birthday!"

I turned around and saw Lsabella flashing a warm smile toward me.

It was all worth it.

Lsabella's pov :

The next day's meeting was chaired by Jasper.

"Does everyone have any proposals? You can speak up now."

Caleb was the first to step forward, "I propose that Blood Moon Pack be disbanded."

Did I narrow my eyes, starting so soon?

"Since it was mentioned that our pack is too small, it reminds me of the rogue's raid ten years ago, when our pack was badly injured without receiving any assistance.

It is reasonable to say that we have contributed to the wolf pack's defense against the rogues, we should be given time to recuperate properly, how come only a few years have passed and we have forgotten about the previous events?

I remember that the rogues in East Continent have not been completely wiped out, and when there is something like this again in the future, which pack will have its turn to face it alone?"

The murmur of voices in the meeting hall faded away, and all the Alpha fell silent.

Even if they escaped a decade ago, no one dared to guarantee that they could escape the present and the future.

As long as a seed of uneasiness is planted in their hearts, there is no way for the Alpha's to feel that this matter has nothing to do with them.

While we were in the middle of a heated discussion, the door suddenly slammed open.

Barging in was a flustered warrior: "Sir! We've found Mr. Liam!"

"Where is it?"

"The head...in the garden."

"Oops!" Charlotte, who was pouring water for Jasper, missed and knocked over the glass.

"I'm sorry! Sorry!"

I looked up just in time to meet the horrified gaze of Charlotte looking at me.

Excellent counterattack, Xavier!

I flashed a shallow smile at Charlotte.

This is the end of offending me!

The garden was crowded with people, and I retreated to the outermost circle of the crowd.

Suddenly, a strange scent wafted over.

I subconsciously inclined my head to look at the maid next to me, whose perfume smells this strong?

I struggled to find the source of the scent but did not expect Jasper also stood in the outermost circle of the crowd.

He was standing on the other side of the waitress, and at this moment he also happened to look in my direction.

The moment my eyes met, I felt my scalp tingling because I suddenly realized that the source of this fragrance was none other than Jasper.

He ...... was actually my mate?

Jasper obviously also found out about this, he frowned condescendingly and looked at me coldly.

I knew he had looked down on me since we first met.

But I was in a bad mood too, who would want such an arrogant MATE!

"Gentlemen, let's go back to the meeting room first, things need to be solved slowly one by one."

When everyone heard Jasper's words, they all left the wreckage of the corpses and returned to the conference room.

I couldn't guess Jasper's thoughts, I didn't know what kind of things he would do to come after he knew that we were MATE.

I decided to meet with him after the meeting, I needed to discuss with him how to handle this maddening matter.

Dr. Wolf examined Liam's body.

"I think the deceased was mutilated during his life and died due to blood loss."

Fai Moon Pack's Beta immediately stepped forward: "The killer is the female Alpha! Liam had a confrontation with her last night, and this woman must have held a grudge against Liam and looked for an opportunity to kill him!"

He had some basis for his suspicion, but this was obviously not the truth of the matter.

I stood up very calmly and retorted, "Last night I returned to my residence early and did not leave until this morning. How could I find the opportunity to kill Mr. Liam, who had just left his residence, under the eyes of so many people?"

My few words silenced everyone in the room.

They would not suspect Xavier, after all, he was just a Beta.

Even if he was stronger, they decided that he wouldn't dare to kill an Alpha.

Mr. Felix of Illusion Moon Pack stood out: "Mr. Liam is the Alpha who led the pack in the battle, to kill him in such a brutal way, only you all here can do it, but everyone has an alibi, I think this case still needs to be investigated slowly."

"It wouldn't be a rogue, would it?" An Alpha suddenly interjected.

"How can it be! Can't so many explorers of each pack catch a rogue? Let him come and go whenever he wants in the hall of the Alpha conference?"

"That's right, the Blue Moon Pack's warriors are also protecting the venue, how could they let a rogue commit murder?"

Now the crowd's arguments were suspended, and everyone was thinking about their own safety and that of the pack.

Although the murderer has not yet been found, their suspicions about me have eased a lot.

At least Blood Moon Pack's stay can still have room for discussion.

Jasper waved his hand in annoyance: "We'll discuss it tomorrow!"
