Chapter 12
Chris's POV.
Burris' eyes flashed with surprise, but he didn't tear me down. He smiled and nodded, hiding a bit of teasing in his eyes.
I didn t have to look to feel Vicky's jealous stare, and it made me feel good. So it seemed that Burris had his moments of not being annoying.
The music in the lobby sounded, played out by a violin with an elegant and delicate tone. The Bloods present invited their female partners and began to dance.
With Vicky still standing off to the side and Burris giving me a look, I hesitated a little. I had planned to kill Phillips today, he was leaving after the dinner, and that was the best chance to get ready.
But if I left at that time, Burris would definitely have been dancing with Vicky. I didn t know why, but I didn t really want to see that.
"Vicky, can I invite you to dance?"
Just as I hesitated, Burris surprised Vicky with an invitation, and Vicky, of course, would not refuse and immediately put her hand on Burris's.
I was Burris's fiancée and he was inviting another woman right in front of me. Such behavior was like a slap in the face, and I looked at Burris with anger.
But as they were about to walk to the dance floor, Burris looked at me with worried eyes and said, "Chris, go take a break, you look tired."
I suddenly realized that Burris might have read my mind and was deliberately looking for an opportunity to get me out of the way.
If that's the case, then what I just did was childish. I didn t like Burris, so why should I be mad at him for not asking me to dance?
I scratched my hair in chagrin and walked over to the couch to sit down. I still felt anxious inside as I watched the figures moving in the middle of the dance floor. I silently left the lobby while everyone was focused on dancing.
Phillips was on the dance floor just now, and I saw him dancing with a full-bodied woman. His hands were always unfaithful on people's asses and it was just disgusting.
Phillips was not only a hypocrite, he's a lustful guy. I was definitely sure that he'd take that sexy woman back to his room later.
In the past two days, I'd collected some more weapons specifically for use against vampires.
And, I was going to take those out and hide them in Phillips' room with me.
When Phillips came back and let his guard down, I'd go up and kill him.
It wasn't easy to find out what to use against vampires in vampire land, and some of them could even hurt myself, but I found some good stuff anyway.
Weapons for killing Phillips included black walnut wood and a bottle of garlic juice. Of course, the main weapon was still the short spear.
Half an hour later, I was hiding in Phillips' room. I hid under the bed, where I couldn't be easily spotted and where I was closest to him.
It was another two hours, and my curled-up body had gone a little stiff, before I finally heard the door lock rattle.
The door opened, and sure enough, it was just as I had guessed. I saw two pairs of shoes, a pair of high heels and a pair of leather shoes.
Their bodies were so close together that they seemed to come in hugging, at a disordered and hurried pace. Phillips kept saying nasty stuffs. Revoltingly!
"Boom!" They flopped down on the bed.
Not a moment later, their clothes fell off the side of the bed and I reached out and surreptitiously pulled those clothes under the bed.
The smell of lust wafted through the air, along with the moans of woman...
I carefully used the sound to identify their position, holding the short spear in my left hand and the sharpened black walnut in my right. I rolled out from under the bed when I found the right moment, then quickly rose and stabbed at them sharply.
It wasn't until I pounced on them that the two immersed in pleasure reacted.
I didn't know what level of blood the woman was, but surely it shouldn't be too high. The black walnut wood happened to be lodged in her heart, and she only had time to let out a scream, then instantly turned into ashes.
Phillips did manage to dodge his fatal parts in time, but still had a black gash on his shoulder from the short spear.
Without giving him a chance to react, I took the garlic juice from the side of my waist and splashed it into his eyes. It was extremely short, and I had used this trick several times when I was still a hunter.
He covered his eyes with his hands and howled in pain, unable to use his level suppression on me anymore, or even see me.
I teleported to him, grabbed his neck, and opened my mouth to suck his blood dry when there was a sudden rush of footsteps from outside.
Phillips' whole body trembled out of fear. He spat the words with difficulty and threatened me, "The Elders... will kill ..."
Without waiting for him to finish, I had bitten hard on his neck, sinking my sharp teeth into his green veins ...
The feeling of being sucked and bitten had to do with the mood of the vampire. When the Blood was in a good mood, the person being bitten would also feel pleasant. When the Blood was in a bad mood, any negative emotions, could be painful for the person being bitten.
So, my hatred was killing Phillips.
It was the second time I sucked blood, and last time I was in a bit of a trance, while I was conscious at the time when I sucked Phillips blood.
I glared hard at Phillips, watching his face grow paler and paler, eventually turning black and blue and dry.
His eyes were widened, bulging and bloodshot, and his pupils a dark brown gradually became devoid of luster.
It wasn't long before no more blood was pouring into my mouth, and I was still clenching Phillips to death until the bedroom door was pushed open again.
"That's enough, Chris, Phillips is dead." Burris came to my side and held out his hand towards me.
It sounded a little familiar, Burris had said it when I was draining Meier's blood, and it didn't even change in tone.
"Oh, my God! You killed Diana's husband, that's so cruel, she'll never forgive you." Vicky exclaimed as she followed Burris.
I ignored the woman as she was followed by the three Elders, and some watching Blood members.
"Your Royal Highness Prince, we must judge this woman again, or all your subjects will panic." Hampton looked at me sternly.
"You better kill me, old man, so your daughter can marry Burris." I said with a sneer, looking at them with disdain.
Hampton's beard buckled in anger at me, and I bet he wanted to swear at me. But in the way of his nobleman's manners, he didn't do so, and just looked over at Burris.
With the help of Burris's hand, I stood up off the floor, who just wrapped his arms around my waist smoothly and smiled.
Then I heard him say, "Chris killed the Count with her powers, she will be stronger and I am proud of her as her future husband."
