THE BEGINNING:CHAPTER II:AFTERMATH
"Hello everyone, this is to notify all passengers here in the terminal, that have been earlier scheduled to board the aircraft which is flight A43, and have been waiting patiently for the flight, that the adhoc forecast team have concluded their weather scan as well as sent an official report concerning the status of the weather which had taken quite a while to confirm if it's suitable for take off as scheduled. And I would like to express my sincere apologies to all those who have been waiting patiently for departure, please bear with us since it's part of our services to ensure your safety as well guarantee your safe landing in Greaves.
Without any further delay, I would like to happily inform you all that the flight to Greaves has been verified and approved by the forecast team, who has finished the weather verification process, permitting all procedures to duely proceed. Therefore, all precedings as well as protocols guiding the process to board the aircraft should fully resume without interruptions. Furthermore, any further hostilities that may occur after this message has been completed should be dealt with without mercy. So all passengers scheduled to take this must comply with the directives given by the security personnel in order to board the aircraft peaceful which soon commence take off",
the female voice of a welfare officer among the staff officials of Summerville airways, reported through the public address system resounding widely inside the terminal.
The crowd listened spellbound by the intel provided to them by the management enacted for their welfare, which intruded the violent riot inside the terminal as a result of the delayed flight A43 which resulted to a good number of casualties on both sides who suffered a lot of injuries and broken bones.
The mob suffered a great deal of casualties than the armed security officers who were fully protected by their armor against gnashing blows and fist inflicted upon them by the unharmed mob, who fought them with their barehands.
Although the officers were protected by their light armor, some of them still sustained superficial bruises and scratches which were surprisingly inflicted upon them by the angry mob who endured much brutal pain from the security guards unending beating using their long batons to dispel the crowd which proved useless to the mob who faced them head on. Some of the passengers who suffered serious fractures on their forehead were taken by one of the air ambulances, which were provided by the management, to nearby hospital for immediate surgery while those who sustained major injuries on their legs, arms and neck were rushed on stretch beds taken from road ambulances, to nearby and farther hospitals for treatment.
The guards that remained unscathed after the protest, quickly went back to their designated post to await on further instructions from the senior personnel.
"If you had inform them about the reason behind the delayed flight A43 earlier, this protest wouldn't have occurred today",
Morrison sadly pointed out the attendant in charge of controlling passengers in and out of the terminal, as he stared motionless at the coarse scene of bleeding passengers that were rushed outside into ambulances which crowded the parking lot out side the building.
"I know that's why I'm deeply sorry about this mess which occurred right under my supervision", the attendant whose name was Jonathan wesley commented sadly in total shock at the number of victims that got affected after the mass protest.
"Look out the mess you put us in! Their families might charge us to court if this whole mess results to the demise of someone who got hurt pretty bad in the protest especially those who got fractured in the damn skull!",
Morrison exploded in frustrating anger with tears rolling down his eyes which caught the attention of few passersby. "If only you could have tell them in time, this wouldn't have happened!",
"I said I understand okay! I already acknowledge my mistake, don't rub it all on me as if I instigated this whole scenario!",
Jonathan retorted back at him without sign of remorse in his blunt yellow face while he pushed back his blonde hair.
"Yeah I heard you earlier but do you know that the whole company gonna pay for the treatment of every single one of them who got hurt, huh? That's gonna cost us a whole lot of monEY!",
Morrison exclaimed vehemently as he made emphasize deeply on the money aspect,
"And the board of directors will surely request for an investigation on the protest which won't be good for me as the head officer while your ass would be exposed for all to see",
Morrison explained bitterly and walked away into the restricted section of the building leaving Jonathan transfixed and totally dumbstruck as he gaped his mouth in oblivion. He forgot that the management will strictly penalized the culprit who will cost them a lot of money as well as profits after a thorough investigation of the incident which means that his job is at stake if they find out that he didn't inform those passengers scheduled for flight A43 about the cause for delay when the first report got to him two hours after the scheduled time for departure.
Although the air terminal was partly overcrowded with hustling paramedics conveying injured victims out of the airport, more passengers seeking to leave the city that the same night, entered terminal without interfering with the rescue procedures as they moved inside in mass numbers through the exit and head towards the queue where several other people stood waiting for their flights to Kickstart.
The terminal resumed its former tranquil atmosphere which was calm as though nothing had transpired earlier that led to multiple casualties on both sides leaving the aftermath of the protest to rescue agencies who were called to save the injured that were affected as a result of the head on confrontation between the security guards and the angry mob. Other passengers continued their preparations to board the aircraft while staring at the crime scene filled with surreptitious medical team and injured individuals that were quickly taken outside without arosing a single noise, only the loud siren of ambulances that parked outside could be heard.
Those security officers that engaged in the protest, suffered less casualties with just a mere handful of four guards who pounced upon and brutally beaten by vicious passengers, while the mob suffered heavily from the brutal pain as well as ghastly rough handling inflicted upon them by the cruel guards who mercilessly descended heavily on them with their batons and shields which they used in trying to dispel the angry mob.
After the wild rampage had ceased, many injured civilians who survived the protest, were conveyed to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment through several ambulances that were called upon by the management to rescue the victims that were affected. Several medical teams from different hospitals rolled inside the building, several stretch beds which used to convey those who couldn't walk because of broken bones and limbs including those who suffered fractured cranium which required urgent treatment while those that had superficial wounds were given instant treatment.
Unfortunately, the ambulances weren't sufficient enough to cater for all the victims that were in need of urgent treatment due to the fact that the number of victims who suffered serious damages to their bodies were fifity in total, not counting those with superficial wounds who weren't given much attention but were provided with first aid. The management were compeled to send four air ambulances to ease the heavy burden on the shoulders of those ambulances that could only convey injured passengers to nearby hospitals by land. Some security officers who suffered less injuries including some of the other guards that didn't partook in the rampage, assisted few medical teams that were finding it tedious and difficult to carry off the victims to their ambulances using metal stretch beds as well as steel roller beds to transport them to their ambulance.
As the rescue situation progresses, other passengers who were fit enough to take the flight including those who didn't partook in the wild riot, were given access into the aircraft through the air bridge after official check-up as well as the required procedures have been followed.
"Mum, I want my doll",
Mary said stretching forth her little arm forward in order to obtain a plastic doll hanging loosely on a black bag above her.
"Oh! Here sweetie",
Jessica chuckled with a smile on her face as she gave Mary the pretty doll which had a charming red bowtie on its small head, and grinned shyly at her which made Mary to giggle while pressing the pretty doll against her pink gown.
Mary walked across the black metal bench to the front facing her parents who were waiting patiently for their turn to enter the queue by the departure lounge since a security procedure was enacted by the board of directors to facilitate safe transport in all their flight mechanism. She stretched out the doll towards Kelvin who apparently didn't see her and was entirely focused on his phone which made him become totally oblivious to the doll hanging forward beside him.
