THE BEGINNING:CHAPTER VI:THE FUSELAGE
"What the heck!", Malcolm screamed as he tried hard to steady the aircraft into former trail, "Murphy! Pull hard on your controls!", he screamed aloud at his partner who pulled along with him using his sheer strength which enabled the aircraft to regain its balance as it hovered over in the cool air. They succeeded in balancing the aircraft which was thrown off balance by the unexpected noise inside third cabin behind them disturbing the chilly wind several metres above the upper layers of earth crust but the fuselage had drifted further away from its designated route to Greaves.
"Murphy, find out what's going on back ASAP! , and take Marion with you to pacify the passengers", Captain Malcolm ordered aggressively after regaining his disrupted focus and cool countenance which had been eroded by the unexpected noise. Marion stood up waiting for Murphy to get up from his seat wiping off tears from her damp face and suddenly recall that she had left Jane stranded alone with few passengers in the standard class which left her bereft of words but decided to wait for Murphy at the doorway in order for to feel secured from the ferocious beast's that could be lurking around in the compartments.
"Alright, I'll check what's happening back there and I don't want any surprises from hostile people which I won't take lightly if they do anything stupid", Murphy said and got up from his seat heading towards the door way where Marion stood waiting for him. He peered at her trying to read her countenance which had been washed off by her tears and looked back at Malcolm who still has his back facing the duo. "And I hope I don't see any monster", He chuckled making fun of her previous statements which he believed to be a prank but she wasn't amused at his spiteful laughter and glared angrily at him which he didn't see as he walked past her into the cabin.
He went outside the cockpit into the third compartment Marion hiding behind his back trembling with fear while taking shufti looks to check if the beast was still in section but found nothing except a few injured passengers lying unconscious on the floor including scattered seats leaving the whole section in total disarray which have been muddled by the ferocious creature. Four men were lying on the aisle covered in blood inflicted upon by its huge claws which had torn open their shirts and pants in several places leaving claw marks on their body gushing out pure blood which soiled the ground. As they walked forward in looking appalled at the ugly scene, they came across the lifeless body of the NAS agent lying helplessly on the floor with her head facing sideways on the ground exposing four claw marks on her broken neck. The werewolf was quite faster than her bullet despite its huge size and had evaded almost all her shots she fired at the beast except by one bullet which caught it on the shoulder blade but it healed instantly after impact and flared up into a vicious rage fueling its agility In delivering three fatal claw strikes on her shoulder, abdomen and neck region which made her somersault into the next seat beside Jessica who was still asleep on her seat unaware of Kelvin's corpse that lay beside the dead agent.
"Who..... what did this?", Murphy muttered to himself utterly horrified at the appalling scene of dead bodies lying on different corners of the compartments and squatted before the dead agent peering at her ID card which lay on the ground beside her cloak with her blood while Marion stood beside him peering at Jessica to check if she had been wounded by the creature but found no wound on her body.
"I told you that there was a beast in the plane now look at the casualties we have suffered because of your ignorance", She spatted out bitterly at him with some tears rolling down her eyes and tapped Jessica trying to check if she is survive the terrifying event. He didn't respond back and kept on peering in shock at the dead agent including her bloody NAS ID reading some of her personal details meant to be used only on duty before catching sight of her pistol slightly underneath Kelvin's corpse and took it out before standing up in front of Marion who kept prodding Jessica's shoulder until she faintly responded to her incessant tapping and decided to leave her alone after recalling that Jane is quite vulnerable to the attack of the beast but Murphy held her back with his right hand.
"Hold on a minute, i still find it hard to believe that a monster could have done this but if it really exist and is still on the plane, I suggest you go back to inform Malcolm about it while I go hunt whatever is responsible for their deaths", He said holding her right arm as he indicated two corpses that lain on the ground beneath the tray table with the pistol he took from the ground underneath the dead body of Kelvin.
"But..... what about Jane? I left her behind in the standard class.... I've gotta go save her", She stuttered in sheer desperation trying to suppress her dark fears which clouded her mind with eerie thoughts of Jane being killed by the beast along with the rest of the passengers in the standard compartment.
"Don't worry about her, l'll bring her back safely if the culprit haven't gotten to where she is right now along with those that might still be alive with her", He said peering at the weapon he held with his right hand that was stained with blood and checked the slimy cartridge if it's fully loaded with bullets but found it missing three bullets that had been fired at the beast by the dead agent.
"Are you sure you can handle that gun?", She asked gazing at the gun as he fixed the cartridge back into the empty pistol.
"Yes, I can handle it perfectly even though the culprit might be a monster way bigger than my size. Besides, at a crucial time like this, it's only man that can pulled this off, not a woman", He replied heading towards the for the fancy staircase leaving her behind with Jessica who had been watching them from her seat.
"Won''t you need any assistance in finding the beast before it kills you?", She yelled at him from behind sheerly oblivious that Jessica had already woken up and was staring at her while he approach the stairs which made him to turn around peering at her including Jessica who also return his gaze beside Marion.
"No, I don't need your help. I think you already have your hands full and don't forget to tell the captain to request for assistance from the air tower and afterwards, patch up the injuries of those that ain't dead yet together with that woman behind you ", He replied indicating Jessica with his gun and stealthily climbed up the stairs leaving them behind to hunt down a creature way faster and more agile than him.
"Are you feeling okay?", Marion asked Jessica bringing her back from a scary nightmare which turned out to be real right in front of her.
"Yes...I am..kinda feeling better. Have you seen my husband? What about Mary, my little girl?", Jessica asked peering at Marion desperately in need of answer.
"I..... don't know who your husband is but I think he might have.....gone to the restroom. And I'll be right back so don't go anywhere", Marion replied trying to keep her in the dark after noticing the lifeless corpse of Kelvin lying beside the agent and headed back to the cockpit leaving her behind to find out minutes later that her husband had been killed in cold-blood while her little girl was missing amongst the several bodies lying on the ground in the compartment.
Marion returned back to the cockpit inform the captain about the incident without co-pilot Murphy who had gone to rescue the remaining passengers including Jane from the hands of the savage monster.
"Where's Murphy? Shouldn't he already be here by now? Why isn't he back yet?", Captain Malcom queried after noticing the presence of Marion behind him in the flight deck leaving her bereft of words by many questions.
"He.....is..... heading to the standard class to rescue Jane from harm", She replied finally regaining her composure to speak which had been completely shut off due to his impatient queries.
"That's outrageous! How can he leave me here alone to drive this plane after I ordered him to find out what the problem is and he's gonna go rescue Jane from what?", Malcolm snapped in anger.
"He's going to save her from the beast I mentioned earlier. The creature has totally massacred the passengers in third compartment except for Jessica the only survivor in that section. The NAS agent is lying dead along with several innocent people and the others in the two compartments are in grave danger especially Jane whom I left behind in the standard class. And before Murphy left, he told me to tell you to request urgent assistance from the air tower so that we can survive and save the lives of those that haven't encountered the beast yet", She earnestly explained to him trying hard to persuade him into making
a squawk radio signal to the air traffic control in Greaves.
"I....... don't know if you are telling me the truth right now but seeing that Murphy isn't here yet makes me think that you might have be telling the truth. But I don't know what to say to them and I really don't think they would believe what I say", He replied still feeling sceptic about her story.
"You must send the signal now or else we have no chance of escaping alive and we're running out of time since it's only matter of time before the creature will kill everyone on board", She pleaded vehemently beside the captain in order to get him to send the signal to the air tower that can save them from the clutches of the beast. Malcolm relented and sent the squawk 7700 to the air traffic control in Greaves that soon received his message of telling them that some queer problem was wrong with the aircraft and soon received feedback from them through his headset but the signal unfortunately got jammed by the eerie weather conditions around the aircraft.
Meanwhile, co-pilot Murphy had ventured past the second cabin through the aisle that had undergone abominable brutal changes carried out by the monster leaving poor innocent victims lying covered in their own blood after sustaining ghastly wounds from the lethal bites and claws of the werewolf as it continues rampaging wildly in the plane. Murphy began to realize that Marion might be telling the truth that such a creature exist in their midst as he peered on the heavy casualties of innocent people stark dead with cold blood on the blue seats feeling utter rancour for the culprit responsible for the vile attack on innocent passengers even a little girl wasn't spared from the merciless attack on the passengers in the cabin. As he passed through the aisle clasping the gun tightly with his hands, fear began cloud his earlier judgement of rescuing Jane but he bravely pressed forward undaunted by fear and finally arrived at the bottom of the fancy staircase that was stained with blood which ran upstairs to the standard class and climbed up with silent footsteps following the bloody footprints of some sort of a creature boldly printed on the staircase that ran upwards.
