Confession

Van POV

I smiled when I saw Aphrodite was stunned when she saw the rooftop. She turned to me.

"What's up?" She asked. I smiled and held her hand. I pulled her closer to the railings here on the rooftop then looked at the lights below.

"The taste of the breeze isn't it?" I asked. She did not answer. The shock was still on her face.

I smiled. I thought she was too much of a surprise.

I forgot to tell Von to play a romantic song so don't do it. It's better to confess straight away later, maybe I'll get fired again.

"Van, maybe they're looking for us downstairs?" She asked. I turned to her and shook my head.

"No, I said goodbye to them," I said. She smiled. Forced smile.

I saw the awkwardness on her face.

"Aphrodite I have something to say," I said and looked at her seriously. I'm sure Aphrodite will die of shivering when a Van Floyd Vaughn confesses to her.

I held her two hands. She was surprised at what I did.

"Witness the moon and stars in the sky to what I will tell you, Aphrodite," I said.

"Van~"

"Shhh, me first," I said and smiled.

"Do you remember the first time we met?" I asked. She just listened.

"That was the day, we went to your place to get Clementine to treat you," I said. "You even thought we were non -opponents so what you did was you locked us all up," I said laughing. She laughed too.

"And that same day, Von talked to me to let you out because all you want is for me to look at Clementine." She added while smiling. I smiled too.

"Right." When I agree.

"Then we stayed in your place for a few years because Clementine didn't want to show up to Fin because Fin's studies might just get messy when she shows up," I said. Then take a deep breath. Here it is.

"Honestly, from the first time I saw you .... You got my attention right away," I said. Gradually the smile faded from her face and it became serious.

"I'm wondering, what will happen when I talk to an Aphrodite Eliz Hz, the snout and the look on your face when we first met," I said and looked her in the eyes. "And now, I can't believe I'm talking to you and I'm in front of you," I said with a smile. She smiled. A strained smile.

"I love you, Aphrodite. I love you so much." I will admit. Her aura is very serious. So I was a little skeptical because I might have said something wrong.

Silence enveloped the two of us until she smiled at me.

"I love you too Van." She said with a smile and held my hands. Shit says that Aphrodite likes me too. What creature would refuse a Van Floyd Vaughn like me?

"I love you but only as a friend." I was stunned by what she said.

She took a deep breath and hesitantly smiled at me.

"I'll court you," I said with a smile.

"Don't, Van." She said, my heart was crushed even more.

"Van, I don't want to depend on you. Not because I don't like you or I don't like you but Van, I want you as a friend. You're like a brother to me Van." She said and touched my cheek.

"I don't want to trust you, Van, I don't want to hurt you just because of me." She said hesitantly.

"Nothing will change between the two of us, we'll still be friends. I'll forget you admitted to me now. Act Normal." She said with a smile. I laughed. It hurts. Fuck. Who invented love at first sight?

"Why ... Why Aphrodite just a friend?" I asked. Holding back my tears. She looked at me sadly.

"Because I want someone else Van." She said directly which made my heart hurt even more. I smiled.

"Who is that? Is he more handsome than me? Richer?" I will ask.

"Van, it's not about looks or wealth to love." She said then stood up straight.

"I don't want to ruin our friendship just because you confessed Van." She said sadly then hugged me.

Very painful. What else am I missing? I already have everything ah. Why she doesn't like me?

"I'm sorry." That was the last thing she said before she let go of the hug and turned away from me then walked away from me. Tears welled up in my eyes as he disappeared from my sight. Fuck. It hurts. I was holding my chest.

"Stop that." Annoyed I said to my chest where I could feel the pain. It was as if my heart was dividing.

"She likes me. But only as a friend?" I laughed and approached the table then kicked it, I also threw the chair next to me. I released all the pain I was feeling just because of the words Aphrodite left out.

She wants something else.

I was sitting there crying. I leaned against the railings of the rooftop and inevitably transformed into a werewolf and howled loudly.

A long and loud howl I made, I felt someone hold me so nothing in myself I went back to my human form and hugged the one who held me.

"Stop." That voice was Cleopatra. The two of us sat on the floor while I hugged her.

"It hurts," I said crying.

"Your friend Cleopatra, She hurt me," I added. She did not utter a word.

"She rejected me."
