Chapter 6
Ariel's POV
"You want to go for a tour around the house?" Laura asked.
We had been sitting in my room for about two hours talking. She seemed like a nice person, and I knew that we would become good friends. But I was still worried about what Brandon and Landon were going to do with me. I know they brought me here for a reason, but I didn't know why.
"I don't know if I am supposed to wander around the house. Do the servants normally do that?" I asked.
"You are not a servant, Ariel. You can go wherever you want, and nobody can say anything. Are you still in pain? I can get the wheelchair and give you a tour of the house," Laura said.
"I can walk but I don't know if this a good idea," I said.
"Come on, Ariel. Look at this room. Do you think you would have this room if you were one of the servants? Trust me when I say that the servants don't have a room this nice," Laura said, and I looked at her.
"Please," She said, pouting.
"Fine, but if your brothers get mad, I am blaming you," I said.
"Whatever, let's go," she said and we left my room.
Laura took me on a tour through the whole house. As we were looking around, I couldn't help the stunned expression that came over me. They had a game room with different video games, bowling, and a pool table. A movie room with a giant screen and seating, just like in a movie theatre. What I liked the most was the library, which had a lot of different books. I loved to read and would spend hours reading when I was in the basement.
Once she showed me around, Laura and I decided to sit in the backyard by the pool. There were a lot of people outside. Children played while their parents watched. People my age were having fun swimming in the pool.
"Hey, Laura, who's your friend?" A guy said. He looked to be about my age. He was tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He had a nice body, and I could see his muscles showing through his shit. He was hot but not as hot as Brandon and Landon. I wanted to punch myself for thinking of them in that way. I shouldn't be thinking of them after what they did to me.
"This is Ariel. Ariel, this is Sam," Laura said.
"Hello beautiful," he said.
"Hi," I replied.
"I wouldn't flirt with her if I as you," Laura said.
"Why not?" he asked.
"You will see," she said.
Sam didn't listen to her warning and kept flirting with me. He kept telling me how beautiful and pretty my eyes were. I couldn't help but giggle and blush at his words. Not many guys talked to me back at my old school because Katie would spread nasty rumors about me. Of course, everything she said about me wasn't true, but that didn't matter. People still believed everything she said without any proof and avoided me like the plague.
"So, what brings you here?" Sam asked.
I was caught off guard by his question and didn't know what to say. Was I supposed to tell him that my stepmother traded me to get her daughter back because of a debt she owed? I didn't want him or anyone else to know any of that. I looked at Laura for some help.
"She is a close friend of the family," Laura said, and Sam looked at her with a shocked expression.
"Friend of the family. I didn't know that you had these types of friends in your family. Do Alpha Brandon and Landon know about this particular friend of the family?" he asked.
"Alpha," I thought to myself. Why was everyone calling them Alpha? What did that even mean?
"Yes, we do know about her, and she is a very close friend of the family," A masculine voice said.
I looked behind me and saw Brandon and Landon..
"Do you mind if we talk to you somewhere private?" Brandon asked.
"Sure," I said, shocked that he was asking instead of telling me.
We stepped into an elevator and took it up to the 6th floor. Brandon swiped a card for the elevator to go to that floor. The door opened, and we were in a spacious living room when we walked out.
"This is Landon and my floor," Brandon said.
"Have a seat," Landon said, and I sat on the couch. They both sat on a chair that was across from me.
"How are you feeling?" Brandon asked.
"I feel fine," I replied nervous about what they wanted to talk about.
"We wanted to let you know that you will be moving on this floor with us," Brandon said.
"But I thought the room you gave me was mine," I said.
"That was temporary. There are enough rooms up here for you to choose the one you want," Brandon said.
I just nodded, knowing that I had no choice. But, at least, I would have my own room.
"Also, our mom told us that you said that you would like to finish your senior year of high school, so starting Monday, you will be going to Crescent High with Laura," Landon said. I was happy that they were letting me compete high school. I didn't think I would be able to because of my stepmother selling me to them.
"We went to get your things from your old house and saw that you didn't have much, so we will be taking you shopping in the morning so that you can get everything you need," Brandon said, shockng me.
"Why," I asked.
"Why what," Brandon asked.
"Why would you buy me things and let me go to school?" I asked.
"We told you that you are not our slave or our property. We want to make sure that you get everything you need and are happy," Landon said, and I was speechless.
"Come on so you can pick your room," Landon said.
I entered a room with a bed, tv, bathroom, and walk-in closet.
"I will take this one,' I said.
"Are you sure? There are more you can choose from," Landon asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure," I replied.
"There are better rooms," Landon tried to convince me.
"I like this one," I said, and then they left, saying they needed to talk to their mother.
I sat on the bed thinking about everything. I didn't understand why the twins wanted to keep me.
I had just gotten accepted into my dream school, and even though the twins had been kind, I wasn't going to let anybody own me. I also couldn't get over the fact that they gave someone permission to beat me up.
Once I had a chance, I was going to escape from this place.
I didn’t realize it then, but my destiny was sealed the moment I stepped into the alpha twins’ world. There was no longer anywhere I could run. Nowhere I could hide. I was completely unaware of just how much my life was about to change.
