HIS CONDITIONS

Preetam PoV:

The door knocking sound woke me up from my slumber. I half opened my eyes, irritated with the disturbance. The rays of the Sun fell on my face directly, as I forgot to close the doors of the window, the last night. I covered my eyes with my left hand to stop the rays from falling on my eyes. Standing up from the bed, I opened the door of my room.

The sight before me gave an awesome feeling to my heart. What would be more lovely than seeing your beloved wife in front of your eyes, in your favourite coloured sari and with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in her hands, early in the morning?

"Good morning!" Roopa greeted brightening up my day with her sweet smile and cuckoo resembling voice.

It's not just a good morning, but a great morning. Because Roopa made my day great with her graceful presence. I wanted to smile, but I hid the smile masking up my face with a frown

"Good morning. Did you wake me up to say only this?" I asked Roopa.

"Coffee. I woke you up to give this coffee and to ask what should I prepare for breakfast," Roopa said.

My fingers touched her hand, while taking the cup from her. Roopa shivered with my touch and unknown sensation entered into me. How can she effect me to this extent with her mere touch? Maybe it's not her effect but the effect of my feelings for her. Sipping the hot coffee, I told her.

"Cooking is not your work, Roopa. We have a cook for that. Go and tell her to prepare anything you prefer for the breakfast," I said

"What do you like the most?" Roopa inquired.

YOU! My heart replied, but I muted its volume as I didn't want her to hear. Why should Roopa know my feelings when she hides everything about her from me?

"Preetam, I want to talk to you. I mean I don't want to leave this house. I want to stay here. I am your wife. I don't understand why should I leave this house after getting a job?" Roopa asked me.

"Wife? Now you are on the right track. So let me show husband side in me to you," I said with a smirk.

"What?" Roopa asked in confusion.

Before Roopa bug out, I held her hand and pulled her into my room. I closed the door and pinned her to it. I slowly touched her beautiful long hairs and tugged her hair behind her ears which covered her soft velvety cheeks. I traced my forefinger over her cheeks. I felt her tenderness and stroked her lips lightly.

"Mrs. Roopa Preetam, now as you said you are my wife, let me make you few things clear," I said in a high-and-mighty pitch.

She nodded. Is she scared of me or thinking that I too misunderstood her character? I leaned towards her more. She tried to move away.

"Did I ask you to move?" I asked.

She looked at me pouting. Indeed, cute pout! When can I kiss these lips and enjoy its taste?

"Don't move a bit until I leave you," I warned her.

I slanted more towards her. This time she didn't move. I blew air on her left cheek and ear. She closed her eyes. I touched her cheek with my forefinger one more time. I found goose bumps on her body with my touch. My touch effected her. That's good. I am sure now that she loves no one, but her heart knew that she is mine as I am her husband. Because if she likes someone, she won't try to be my wife nor responds to my touch. I think this is enough for today. If I move further at once, she may feel uncomfortable or think wrongly about me.

"So my dear wife, here are your conditions to be my wife. First thing, you should never leave home at nights," I said, and salty droplets appeared at the corner of her eyes.

"You should never leave home at nights unless you give me a proper reason for that," I completed my sentence and then she looked at me surprised.

Why this society blames the character of a girl if she goes out at night? How can they declare that girl is immoral without knowing the purpose? I have no objection if she goes out at night, but I need a reason behind it.

"Second thing is you no need to do any work here. I didn't marry you to fill the vacancy of a cook or maid. We have maids already to do the work. I married you, to love you and get loved by you."

She jiggled.

"Next, you can shift to our room if you want. Otherwise, you can stay in your room. Anything is fine with me. The most important condition is I want a free talk with my wife. I want her to open up by herself to me. Did you get me?" I asked seriously.

She gulped without replying. I moved nearer to her. My lips are touching her's. She tried to turn her face, but I glared at her. She stopped gliding and stood as she was. I creased my finger on her face and neck. I pinched the side of her belly a little. She screamed.

"For going out at night without telling me the reason," I answered her as she is rubbing the place where I pinched.

"Now stop it. Let it give you a little pain," I said, pinching one more time slightly.

She pouted.

"Do you want me to kiss you?" I asked.

"What?" She said widening her eyes.

"Don't you know any other word than asking what. Anyways, I will answer you. If you pout these many times, I feel to kiss your soft lips. So stop pouting. Anyways, you look damn cute when you pout," I said kissing her neck.

I looked at her, and she smiled while her face turned into crimson red. But as soon as I looked at her face, she stopped her smile giving innocent looks. Acting?? Is she intent to show as if she doesn't like me and my touch? You can pretend as much as you want, baby. I will make you confess the truth soon. I slowly moved back. I should take a cold shower. This Roopa made me suffocated. I never felt like this with any girl.

"Shall I leave?" Roopa asked me.

"You can go," I said.

"Preetam, I need dresses."

"I didn't bring any dresses with me. I am uncomfortable in these sarees," Roopa said.

"What should I do for that? After all, I love to see you in sarees," I said.

She didn't answer me.

"Ok, I have an important meeting today. I will give my cards and will send the driver. You can go shopping. If you want me to accompany you, I will take you shopping in the evening."

"Ok, I will wait for you," Roopa said.

"Where are your parents?" She asked me.

"They went for marriage. My parents will arrive tomorrow."

She gave a nod and left the room. I didn't say about her return to my parents. I can't imagine their reaction if they knew about her comeback. They hate her so much. I should convince them. But, how? What if they didn't allow her to stay here?
