FIRST DAY AT THE OFFICE

Preetham PoV:

We went to the office. Roopa scanned the entire room without settling on the chair. I thought she recalled that day when her dad brought her to me. I didn't ask her to sit for the whole day. She stood until I ask her to get into my car to take her home with me. I was damn angry on that day at her. I didn't feel to talk to her. So, though I noticed her standing and that her legs were aching, still I didn't ask her to sit. I go mad at times. I won't get angry quickly, but if I get angry, no one can convince me easily.

"Roopa, you can sit, and examine my cabin," I said, and she gazed at me.

She occupied the seat in front of me.

"Are you comfortable?" I asked.

"Yes!" Roopa replied.

I took my mobile and dialled the number of the manager.

"Prepare an appointment letter for Roopa," I ordered.

"Sir, there is no vacancy in our company," the manager replied politely.

"It doesn't matter. This is Roopa's company. Bring an appointment letter appointing Roopa as my PA," I said, and the manager left to complete the assigned work.

"Look Roopa; this is an office. At home, you can be as you want and I have no problem with it. In the office, you must comply with the terms and conditions set by the company. I want you to do every work on time with perfection. I hate negligence and recklessness. If you do anything wrong, I will issue the memo twice, and the third time, I will fire you from the job. Remember this and work carefully. I want you to receive my call as soon as I call you and do the work I say," I said in MD position, and she nodded.

The manager brought an appointment letter within fifteen minutes. Roopa went to her cabin, to start the work. I called the manager to talk about Roopa.

"Look, Mr Virender, Roopa is my wife and has equal rights in the company as I have. So, inform our staff that she should be given the same respect as you give to me. She is just working to get experience. So, don't treat her as an ordinary employee," I said.

"Sure, sir!"

"You may leave now," I said to him, and the manager left my chamber.

After two hours, I felt as if I miss her. I wanted to see her and feel the happiness which can be created by her mere presence beside me. I dialled her mobile number.

"Hello, sir!" Roopa said from the other side.

Sir?? Why did she call me as sir? I didn't give her any such instructions before handing over the appointment letter.

"Sir, how can I help you?" Roopa said again.

"I couldn't find an important file in my cabin. Can you please help me in finding the file?" I said.

"Definitely, sir!" Roopa said and disconnected the call. She knocked on the door of my cabin.

"May I come in sir?" Roopa asked.

"Yes!" I said.

She came and stood before me. How can she be this beautiful? Why mom and dad feel she is not beautiful where I fall for her every second.

"Search the file which belongs to Adwood company tender," I said, and she started searching my desk, and it's cabins.

Roopa started searching the file, standing close to me. The rose fragrance from her body created an unknown feeling in me as my heart carving for her love for a long time. Feeling her delicacy, I touched her wavy hairs. What a beautiful long hair? She has long curly hair. The air blew from the window, and her hairs caressed my face. Dreaming her tender touch through her hairs, I smiled. I can't wait anymore without pulling her into my lap and have a deep kiss.

"Hey, Preetam! How are you, man? I missed you so much. I heard that your wife eloped with her boyfriend. No problem, let's resume our relationship," said my friend Vinaya by throwing herself in my lap with an irritating tight hug, and unwanted kiss on the cheek.

I was shocked and frustrated with this girl's misbehaviour. I didn't bother about Vinaya or her senseless act, but what would Roopa think seeing all this bullshit? I looked at Roopa giving her a pleading look. Roopa didn't look at me. Instead, she was busy with passing a death glare to Vinaya. Then, she shifted her vision towards me.

"Sir, I am leaving. I don't want to disturb your private time. I respect your privacy. Call me after completing your romance," Roopa said and left the room.

Shut, romance?? How can I complete my romance when Roopa leaves? Because after all, I want to romance with her as she is my wife and my only love. This Vinaya, why did she arrive now? It's my stupid fate which brought her here. I looked at Vinaya dangerously, stopping her from approaching me again.

I followed Roopa to convince her. What would I do if Roopa trusts the words of Vinaya? What if Roopa suspects me of keeping an affair with Vinaya?

"Roopa, please give me a chance to explain. Vinaya is just my friend," I said in a convincing tone.

"It doesn't matter to me, sir. My work is to do the task assigned by you. I have no right to involve in your issues, and I don't have no interest too, sir," Roopa said stressing the word, sir.

I thought to talk, but she started working on her laptop. Her stares were too scary. Roopa was typing something on the laptop, and even the strokes on the keyboard showed her anger.

I pulled the other chair nearer to her and sat beside her. I held her hand, stopping her from typing the document.

"Sir, please let me do my work," Roopa said without looking at me.

"Roopa, Vinaya is just my buddy. I have no relationship with her other than friendship. My parents asked me to marry her, but I have no feelings for her. Trust me, Roopa," I said, holding her hands, requesting her.

"Leave me, sir. Holding the hands of your staff like this is unfair. Your fiance may get hurt," Roopa said sarcastically.

"Roopa, please stop it. I held the hands of my wife, not of any other woman. Vinaya can never be my fiance because I love you. You are my wife and don't you trust me? How could you make me responsible if Vinaya throws herself at me? I did nothing wrong," I shouted at Roopa.

Roopa smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck. I was surprised at her attitude. Wasn't she angry with me until now? Does she act?

"Preetam, you are my husband. I trust you. Why are you explaining to me about your character? Do you really think that your wife believes the words of an unknown over you?" Roopa asked in her calm and soothing voice.

"Then, why did you leave my cabin that angrily?" I asked.

"I can't bear seeing a girl hugging and kissing my husband. It hurts me. You are right in guessing that I was angry. I am furious at Vinaya, but not you."

"I love you, baby," I said, kissing her both hands by holding them.

I always wished to get a wife who understands, trusts and loves me. I felt happy to get Roopa as my wife who has all the qualities I dreamt. I tried to kiss her lips, but Roopa kept her forefinger on my lips stopping me.

"Preetam, this is an office, not our home. Being the MD of this company, you should never break the rules. For now, leave me," Roopa said.

"No, I can't leave you now. I love you," I said pouting.

"Very cute! But, it's not the right place to show your love for me. After going to our home, you can express your love," Roopa said pushing me away slowly.

I smiled and left her. I turned to go, but shocked seeing Vinaya and my parents there. When did they return to the city? Oh my God! Why did they return before settling everything between Roopa and me? What if they insult her in the office before staff? No, it shouldn't happen, I must save her from their anger. But, how?
