Chapter 2 STROLLING AROUND

The following day, Mystica woke up early hoping to find the old couple to their usual spots but she could not find them anywhere in the house. She struggled to walk in slow motion, heading outside the little house but still she failed to see traces of them. This made her feel lonely.

"I was left alone in the middle of nowhere…" she sighed to herself longingly.

She took a few steps towards the wooden bench as she gazed up in the sky. The sunlight beams are about to show. Anytime soon, a new day was about to start and whether she acknowledged it or not, it wasn't her will to be heeded; thus hence, she sat there and waited for the sunrise to happen and enjoy every bit of it.

This has become Mystica's daily routine…

Basking on the sunrise before she headed to do her household chores. She cooks her nourishing meals according to how the old woman instructed her a few days ago before they left. It was indeed very helpful. Now, she could be able to walk fast without using a wooden clutch to help her stand up. She felt better as days passed by.

In order to show her gratitude to the old couple for letting her live in their little cabin, she made sure to clean it every day. She wiped every corner of it including a few items left by them. Though looking old and rusty, she was certain that it still works just perfectly fine.

Mystica began to rummage the drawers in the little kitchen to see what she could find and she was surprised that the couple had left a massive amount of food for her to consume. Furthermore, she also found different types of seeds in a sealed bottle. It was then that she remembered seeing the old man outside the window, bending on the ground.

'He must be harvesting during that time…' she thought inwardly with a slight smile.

A smile made its way to her lips as she found a good idea on how to use the seeds in the bottle. Even if she couldn't recall anything about her past, somehow she felt that she has deep connections to nature. Every time she went out to gaze around the fruit trees and listen to the chirping birds, the heaviness she felt would lessen. She felt strangely comforted.

Taking out a gardening tool from the small cabinet, she took the bottle and went out to the backyard. She started digging holes, forming them into a field. Then she went back to the house to find something similar to a bucket to fill with water before she went to the nearest brook. She carries it after it is fully filled and gently showers it to her planted seeds…

Days turned into nights in a blink of an eye and nights passed by…

Mystica has gotten used to living alone everyday. Striving simply to eat as a start and sleep at the end of the day was enough and she felt content yet there was something that made her curious as she looked ahead.

The thick forest filled with huge trees that surrounds her little spot seemed to be so mysteriously enchanting. It captivates her interest. As curiosity kicked her gut, she planned to stroll around in the next day to see everything around clearly. Moreover, she wanted to find the very spot where she was found unconscious by the old couple. She was also hoping to find some clues about her past or perhaps it might help her recall everything…

The following day, Mystica walked out of the cabin before the sun rises. She had everything ready in hand just in case her little journey would take her so long. She wrapped enough food, water, a little amount of herbs just in case she might encounter a little accident along the way, and a spare of clothes to change just in case it rains. She fill them all on a little cloth like bag, hanging on her back as she started to step on the little trail, heading to depths of the forest.

Along the way, the gust of cold wind seemed to be taking her to where she wants. She felt light while walking and nothing even a drop of sweat exerted from her forehead. This certain circumstance made her wonder why but knowing the slight wind continously blews behind her, she pushed aside her odd thoughts and resumed walking, taking things happening naturally.

Mystica calculated the steps she made and the distance she took carefully in her mind therefore she assumed that it was the right time to stop and fuel herself with her food. She looked around and found a huge stone just a few steps away from her current position.

"Perfect!" She cheered and went to it.

Arriving, she was surprised to see that it was actually settled beside the river. She detached her little pouch from behind, dropping it on the stone before she went to the running water.

Since she hadn't seen any mirror at the cabin from the day she opened her eyes, she was astonished when she saw her reflection on the water. "So this was me?" She murmured questioningly, unsure of what she actually saw. "The name Mystica seemed to really fit you, didn't it?" She babbled nonchalantly as she proceeded to wash her face.

The water zest rolled on her face down to her neck giving a cooling sensation. Mystica was certain that she belongs to a family with excellent genes based on her looks. Her long and brown hair seemed to have grown with excellent care from the past as it looks healthy and naturally wavy. In addition, it feels silky soft when she combs her fingers through it and reaches her waist, almost covering her butt if she lets them down after bathing.

She also noticed that her pale skin seemed to glow whenever the sunlight beam grazed on them. Even if she stayed too long under the sun while grooming her plants, she didn't feel any burning sensation rather she felt even more alive. It was apparent that nature was helping her recover fully and she was getting used to it.

Having enough thoughts swirling on her head, Mystica went back to the stone to eat the fraction of her prepared meal. After a few mouthfuls, she burped in satisfaction. She drank a few gulps of water before she shoved them back on her carried pouch. She was ready to move further into the forest.

She merely took a few steps forward when something strange happened. She looked up, feeling uneasy as the sky suddenly darkened. The usually bright sky was covered with dark clouds.

"Oh no!" She gasped. "I must find a roof right this instant before the rain falls…" she mumbled to herself before she looked around for a hiding spot. She hurriedly went to the nearby hill hoping to find a little space to stay underneath but something peculiar caught her attention.

The tree branches nearby rustled fiercely and a strong gust of wind blew heavily followed by a loud sound that rangs in her ear. There was something unknown falling from the sky. As to what it was, she failed to recognize as it came blazing so fast, blurring her sight.

Thud!

The loud sound caused her veins to get tensed as her blood froze momentarily. She suddenly felt terrified but her curiosity arose from within. Though her body was shaking in fear, her feet, though feeling heavy, surprisingly took her towards the unknown thing that directly fell from the sky.

She swallowed nervously as she clutched her thudding chest while she was getting closer…

Upon reaching the exact spot, her eyes grew wide like saucers in astonishment and her mouth gaped in shock! Color slowly drained from her face and her entire demeanor was about to burst in so much fear at the sight of a massive bundle laid in the ground.

"Oh my goodness! Heavens, please help me!" She murmured shakily under her hitching breath.
