Snapped

Chloe's POV

"Hey dad," I sang while throwing my arms around his neck and peering over his shoulder at the Microsoft excel document on his pricey laptop screen. "Violet's going to drive me to the airport."

My sister Sienna and I were going to the Hamptons for the weekend in place of my dad for a charity event. He had to fly back to Paris because my grandpa was recently hospitalized.

"I still don't like the idea of you flying on a plane by yourself," he closed the laptop screen and stood up, my arms

falling back to my sides.

I sighed. My dad was one of the most paranoid people and without a doubt the most overprotective dad in the entire world. He did have three very attractive daughters though, so I guess he should be protective. He let my thirteen year old brother Bradley fly wherever he wanted by himself just as long as he had a good excuse. He almost always had a good excuse, "Dad, I'm seventeen, I'll be ok and Sienna's meeting me at the airport as soon as I land so..."

"Sienna too though. I don't want either of you going-"

"Sienna's been living on her own in New York and you never said anything about that!" I snapped, immediately feeling bad about doing it. "Dad, I'll be fine. What's honestly going to happen to me anyways?"

"Nothing because I'm going to have you

fly on the jet," he pulled his phone out and started to walk out of the office and into the main lobby. "Carissa, can you call LA Airways and have them get a jet ready for..." dad paused to look at me, "When are you supposed to be leaving, Chloe?"

"Well my plane is supposed to be leaving in an hour-"

"Can you have it ready by 5 o'clock then?" He asked Carissa.

"I'll call them right now, Mr. Cruise," Carissa said with a smile, the phone already to her ear. Everyone loved my dad. I hadn't ever met a person who didn't either find him attractive or a well put together entrepreneur.

"What are you doing?" I asked as he now started to call someone.

"Calling Violet, telling her that she doesn't have to drive you. I will."

Well that was a rarity. Driving me to the airport was going to take precious time out of his busy work schedule. It was weird to see my dad not working constantly anymore.

"You sure? I mean, you kind of have a company to run."

"It's the last time I'm going to see you for a week, the least I can do is drive you."

"Hey Clo," Sienna greeted me as soon as I walked into the beach house that my dad rented out for the weekend.

"Hi SiSi," I said while walking into her hug. I hadn't seen my sister in a little over three months. I barely even texted her anymore. I couldn't help but notice the guy standing at her side. The guy was everything my dad would

definitely disapprove of.

He was tall and slim, with shaggy brown hair and tattoos visible all over his exposed tanned skin. His choice of clothing was less than desirable too. Ripped skinny jeans and a plain white shirt with the sleeves ripped off so it was more of a tank top.

I waited for Sienna to introduce him.

"Chloe this is Lorenzo, my boyfriend. Lorenzo this is my sister Chloe."

"It's nice to meet you," I thrusted my hand out in his direction, but he just rudely dismissed me by putting his arm around Sienna. I embarrassedly dropped my hand back to my side. Yeah, dad definitely wouldn't like this guy.

Sienna looked disappointed but didn't say anything else on the subject, "Well Chloe, I was gonna go out to dinner with Lorenzo, I'll be back later

tonight and we can catch up then ok?" She asked while grabbing her white leather jacket off the back of the sofa and heading to the door. Lorenzo was already gone.

I nodded, "Yeah ok."

She smiled.

I had been to several charity events in the course of the seventeen years I've been alive, but none quite as important as this one. In the past, I've always been an attendee there for moral support, today though I was taking my dad's place. Everything I did reflected on him.

Everyone here was rich and dressed nicely and so far I've greeted everyone to step foot on the sandy beach. Sienna did nothing...she did nothing

with that rude boyfriend of hers. He didn't even bother to dress up. He came here wearing the same thing he wore yesterday. How long before that rubbed off on Sienna?

I saw a whole new group of people approach the beach and by that I mean two new guys. They threw me mixed signals. I wasn't sure if it looked like they belonged here or in some...I don't know...scary guy club.

I decided to sit this one out and let them introduce themselves to me. This whole thing would have been a little less frightening too, if Sienna didn't decide to get up and leave with Lorenzo. Where was she going to go?

I walked a couple of steps over to the beach and stood at the edge, just before the water was able to reach my feet and soak my sandals. The wind gently blowed my sandy blonde hair and for a fraction of a second, I was relaxed.

That all went away as fast as it came though once something metalish in feeling was pressed to my back.

"Do not scream, amore mia," some sort of strong, manly accent whispered into my ear. It sounded Italian, but I honestly wasn't sure.

I turned my head slightly and looked out my peripheral vision. The two scary guys I saw seconds ago were standing behind me. I don't know why he said 'don't scream', what was he gonna do to me?

Click.

It sounded like the safety of a gun was being taken off. A gun though?

Oh god.

I shrieked, now beyond terrified. I even surprised myself at how fast tears were created and streaming down my pale cheeks. "Don't cry. Just walk," the

guy holding the gun pushed it into my back further, making me stumble into the ocean but catching me before I could fall. "Wrong way. Walk back up to the road, Chloe."

I was taken aback. Yes, I was the daughter of multimillionaire so my name had gotten around the world, but the fact that this man knew my name sent scary chills down my spine.

"W-who...are you?" I asked while slowly walking away from the beach and up to the road. I knew this might be my last day on earth, so why rush things?

"You don't need to know right now, Amore Mia."

The second guy walked past me a little bit, leading me to a car in a nearby parking lot. Ok, so these people aren't poor, we can at least make that assumption. The guy stopped in front of a red Ferrari 458 Italia. I only knew

that because my dad had the same exact car only it was in a chrome red.

It was only a two seater though and there were three of us...

"Get in," the guy with the gun urged me inside the car before walking around the front and getting into the driver's side. The engine was revved a couple of times before the car was moving speedily out of the parking lot.

"Please...who are you? What do you want with me? Please don't kill me!" I begged as he blew through stop lights and signs.

"I'm not gonna kill you...unless I absolutely have to," he glanced at me briefly before looking back at the road. So I was either going to die via car crash or gunshot wound. "Oddly enough, you're pretty important in society today so you can help me get exactly what I want."

absolutely have to," he glanced at me briefly before looking back at the road. So I was either going to die via car crash or gunshot wound. "Oddly enough, you're pretty important in society today so you can help me get exactly what I want."

"Money?" I asked. I came from wealth and everyone knew it. Never did I ever think this was gonna happen to me though.

"Maybe."

"At least tell me your name."

"Why? What's knowing my name going to change?"

I stayed silent.

"Angelo."
