Chapter 5

Blake was right and found Jnr on the beach. “I thought I will find you here.”

“Hey,” Jnr said, sitting with his feet ducked into the sand.

“Are you ok?” Blake questioned.

“What do you think? My twin brother that I didn’t even know existed shows up out of nowhere and it appears he automatically becomes the heir,” Jnr stated.

“Well, there is always still my pack,” Blake said without thinking, completely forgetting that she was supposed to call things off with him.

‘I thought I loved him. How can my love for him just go away because I am fated with another?’ Blake questioned herself, sitting next to Jnr.

“No, there is not. Our parents set us up,” Jnr informed her.

“What are you talking about?” Blake asked, pretending not to know, but she knew all too well. Five years ago, when her parents told her that her family’s fortune rest on her shoulders, she never knew that she would fall for the dorky boy. She was not supposed to know, but she overheard them speak, so they told her the truth.

Jnr explained to him what his grandmother told him, and Blake listened attentively, trying to put a shocked face on.

“Nothing to say?” Jnr asked, studying her face.

“We fell in love on our own, didn’t we?” Blake questioned him.

“Did we?” Jnr asked.

‘Do I love him? I know I care for him still. He was my first. What am I going to do?’ Blake thought to herself and averted her eyes to the waves, fearing he might find the truth in them.

“Can I come to stay with you for a bit?” Jnr asked after a while.

“Sure. Of course,” Blake stumbled over her words.

“Are you sure?” Jnr questioned, picking up on her hesitation.

“Of course,” Blake said with confidence.

After a long moment, Blake felt someone trying to mind link with her and opened her mind.

‘I asked you to let me know if you found him,’ Xander’s mind link came through.

‘Found him,’ Blake mind linked.

‘I thought you are going to break up with him, now he is staying over?’ Xander questioned after poking around in her mind.

‘It is too much for one day, ok,’ Blake mind linked him back before blocking him out again.

Xander was furious, and even though he wanted to go find Blake, he finished his classes for the day. After class, he went to his dorm but found all his things gone. “Where are my things?” Xander questioned his roommate.

“Some fancy-dressed men came and took all your things. I tried to stop them, but they said you will know where to find your things,” his roommate said.

“Yeah. See you around,” Xander said, and turned to leave.

“Hey, wait up. What is going on?” his roommate inquired.

“Remember, I told you I am an orphan?” Xander reminded him.

“Yes,” his roommate confirm.

“Well, it turns out I have a twin brother, twin sisters and my parents are like super-rich,” Xander laughed and left.

“Don’t forget me!” his roommate joked.

Xander drove to the castle and smiled when he drove through the big gates, thinking, ‘I can’t believe this is my life now.’

“Just in time for dinner. I didn’t know what you would like, so let the cook make everything,” Kim said, waiting for Xander in at the front door.

“I hope you did not wait here all day,” Xander chuckled in an uncomfortable embrace from Kim but allowed her as he secretly have been dreaming about his mothers arms wrapped around him all his life.

“Of course I did,” Kim admitted, laughing.

Xander followed her to the dining hall, where the whole pack was already seated.

“Good evening,” Xander greeted his father and sat to his left, not knowing it was the place where Jnr always sat.

“That is Jnr’s seat,” Amber said.

“Oh,” Xander said, and was about to stand up.

“As the next Alpha of this pack, it is his place now,” Alex said.

“Just like that?” Xander asked, his eyes still on Amber’s disapproving eyes.

“Your brother and sisters don’t have wolves, so that leaves you,” Kim says with a smile and sat to Alex’s right.

“I will sit here today since Jnr won’t be joining us,” Xander said, giving Amber an uncomfortable smile.

“And why is that?” Amber questioned.

“My guess, he is processing all of this. His girlfriend mind linked me, telling me he will be staying with her for a few days,” Xander said with a stiff voice.

“You don’t sound so happy about that?” Amber picked up on his aggressiveness.

“Tell me, have you found your fated mate?” Kim interrupted the conversation while signaling the serving staff to bring around the dozens upon dozens of serving trays filled with a variety of starters on.

“I have,” Xander stated slowly, not sure if he should let them in or not.

“That is fantastic. She is more than welcome to move in. Have you claimed each other?” Kim asked while placing a spoon of caviar into her plate.

“So, tell us about you. Where did you grow up? What are you studying?” Alex interrupted Kim, stopping the server from putting caviar into his plate.

“In an orphanage in Russia. I am studying Business Management for now. Not sure if I will change or specialise later years,” Xander answered and filled his plate with Caviar.

“An orphanage?” Kim asked shocked, her eyes filling with tears.

“Yes. But the headmistress treated me like her own son. There was a pack that wanted to adopt me shortly after my thirteenth birthday when I shifted for the first time, but she would have none of it,” Xander explained.

“So, she robbed you of a good life?” Kim asked angry, wiping the tears from her eyes.

“Are you kidding? It was not a rich life like this or like the pack I could have joined but she gave me a good life and she was the only mother I knew,” Xander told her and carefully brought a spoon filled with caviar to his mouth and carefully tasting the caviar.

Xander took a napkin and spit the caviar into it, “how do you eat this?”

“You must not be used to this type of food. Pizza or Hamburgers?” Amber chuckled.

“Pizza, four seasons,” Xander laughed and everyone else laughed with him.

While the pack enjoyed the fancy food Alex, Kim, Xander, his twin sisters and Amber went to a private dinning room where they had pizza and talked all night about Xander’s childhood.
