CHAPTER 5

CHAPTER FIVE

Avyanna ran with every strength she could muster.

Being a Luna of the pack, she was also trained as a warrior. She started her training when she was six years old and her father most especially taught her everything she knew and needed in order to become a warrior. It wasn't an easy task for either parties but it was worth it. She could wield swords and guns, bows and arrows, and anything a warrior needed in a battle ground. Anything Avyanna wielded became a very dangerous tool, especially if you were fighting against her in a battle. Avy's sturdy nature also made her agile.

Laurel Hills was a great distance from the Pack houses which was the reason Avyanna had her alone time there. It was far away from the Pack house and it meant, nobody could easily locate her. What seemed so advantageous to Avy proved to be a disadvantage because while she shouted for help as she ran back to the Pack house, no one could hear her and come to her aid.

They had been news of wolf hunters capturing some wolves for experiments and Avyanna could not afford to be captured. She had a more important mission which was to save her home and her pack from the danger she knew was imminent.

Avyanna ran with so much speed, fueled by sheer strength and stamina, without looking back to see what chased her.

Eventually she was a fast runner due to the training she had gotten from her Dad but she knew within her that if it was a wolf or something stronger and bigger than her in her human form chasing her, she would be no match for it since Katie had chosen to disappoint her, so she ran.

She stopped at the Vetch field to catch some her breath, and slow the pace of her heart beat. She was almost close to the pack house; Vetch field was the training ground for the pack warriors. It was a large field and it helped them train easily and also understand and mater their wolf abilities.

The dominating scent that chased her seemed to disperse, causing Avyanna to think that the enemy was far away so she started jogging back to the pack house. The race had really exhausted her so she was basically walking.

Suddenly, a hand from the shadows grabbed her wrist and consequently, adrenaline coursed through her veins. Avy turned around with every amount of energy left in her, swinging her fist to punch whatever apparition that grabbed her wrist.

"Why did you ..." the apparition called out as it dropped to the ground. Avy got a clearer view of who grabbed her arm. Realizing who it was, she covered her mouth in shock.

“General Jonathan!"

"Urgh, Luna Avyanna..." Jonathan groaned in pain.

Jonathan is one of the Zeta wolves of the pack. They are the highest ranking warriors in the pack, often called the "Generals." They led the pack warriors during war and they were responsible for training all the warriors of the pack.

“Oh my god, you scared the shit out of me! What were you thinking?" Luna asked, lending him a hand to support him as he got up from the ground.

"What do you mean by what was I thinking?" Jonathan groaned as he found his feet.

"Did you follow me to Laurel Hills?" Luna asked, unsure of the reason why the General was away from the pack house at that moment.

"No of course not my Luna. I have no idea what you're talking about." Jonathan was Avyanna's loyal General even in her past life so she believed him, but Avyanna couldn't understand who or what had the dominating scent that chased her from Lauren hills. She choose to not discuss it any further because she was experiencing weird occurrences ever since she was given a second chance.

"It could be another sign or miracle from the Moon Goddess." Avyanna thought.

"I'm sorry I hit you, maybe I was just overthinking." Avyanna said as Jonathan finally stood on his feet.

"You do throw a really mean punch. What were you doing alone in Lauren Hills?"

"Well, I just needed some time alone after everything that happened today." Avy initiated a stroll back to the park as she spoke.

"At least you should have brought a warrior with you in the absence of a Beta." Jonathan said.

"I am a warrior myself, I don't need someone else to follow me around like a dog anywhere I go and you don't need to rub it on my face that I have no Beta." Avyanna had no Beta because she had no one she saw fit to take that position. She had planned to make Vanessa her Beta before Nancy had taken everything away from her but after Vanessa betrayed her in her past life, she didn't have anyone else she was very close with to mark as a Beta. Avyanna had trust issues and it took her time to take in someone as a friend, but she trusted Vanessa, who broke her heart. She wasn't ready to form another bond easily with anyone else. She felt the right person would show up at the right time.

"I'm sorry my Luna, that's not what I meant." Jonathan apologized.

"It's okay, I totally understand your point but I want you to be assured that I can take care of myself." She smirked.

"I know what happened earlier today in the pack house must really be hard for you."

"As a Luna, one should expect such things. Not everyday is going to be a happy day for you." Avyanna smiled at Jonathan. She didn't like the pity he was giving her, so she had to act strong although she was really broken on the inside.

"I heard the Omega collapsed this morning, she must be fragile like Alpha Ericson described her to be." Jonathan instigated another conversation.

"Oh! He told you what happened?" Avyanna exclaimed hiding her annoyance.

"Aren't you aware? Alpha Ericson assembled all the warriors in the pack to inform us to take go care of his mate."

"When did this happen?"

"Last night."

Avyanna was pissed off. She went out to clear her head but the information she was receiving wasn't helping her at all. Her husband had intentions of keeping his mate even before they had their discussion today. Alpha Ericson had been making plans without her knowledge.

"Maybe I slept off then." Avyanna wanted to end the conversation before her emotions would fail her.

"Okay. Have you heard about the wolf hunters?" Jonathan asked.

"Yes, did you find out the territories they must have gotten into?" Avy was curious.

"Not yet. We are still trying to understand what they really want from us and why they should break the law."

"Okay when you gather enough information, you let me know. This should be my last stop with you." Avyanna said as they reached the frontage of the pack house.

"It was a pleasure talking to you my Luna." Jonathan bowed his head and left, his face still thrumming in pain from Avyanna's punch.

Avyanna was troubled about everything that was going on in the pack. She was looking for a means of getting all her pack members separate from Ericson's pack before Nancy would destroy all of them like she done in the past but she didn't know how to do it. She needed someone stronger that would back up her plans and she had no one.

As she entered her room, Ericson was sitting on her bed like he had been waiting for her.

"What are you doing in my room?" Avyanna asked. She wasn't ready to have a conversation with him at the moment, he had done enough already that had hurt her so badly and she wasn't ready to forgive him yet.

"Avy, please I don't want to fight...” Ericson saw this as the right time to gain his wife's approval. He had finally gotten Nancy to live under the same room with him, he thought he could easily convince his wife to accept the changes and he would have everything under his control as usual.

"Well I don't want to talk to you. I've had a rough day and I would like to be alone." Avy hissed and walked farther away from him.

"I'm sorry for not informing you earlier about Nancy." He bowed his head in remorse, Avy couldn’t figure out the genuineness of his remorse.

"Are you even truly sorry? Or you're just saying it. Eric, you're not the husband I've known for years and I don't know if it's your mate that has changed you. You embarrassed me in front of your Beta and sister like it meant nothing to you just because of the Omega."

"She is no ordinary Omega, she is my mate." Ericson almost lashed out, but his voice was still low for he feared he might aggravate Avyanna some more.

"And I'm your wife!" Avyanna shouted, "Please leave my room. I don't want to have this conversation right now."

Ericson walked slowly towards her and held her waist; he pulled her in to himself. Avy was so out of it, she gave into the man she loved, even though she denied that she didn't completely love Ericson anymore. A part of Avy still loved the alpha she grew decades with.

In a heated intense moment of rage, and billion other emotions, Avy gave into Ericson grip and their lips met. Avy felt Ericson wet tongue slobber on her lips and she cracked her lips open to allow it swim inside and arouse her.

It took less than a few seconds for Avy to get in touch with reality and shove Ericson away. She dabbed her lips, unable to react to what just happened. The pair stared at each other for a while, unable to spit out the unsaid words and feelings that disturbed the depths of their heart.

"I know you're hurt and I'm sorry for hurting you. Please let's have this discussion some other time." With that, Ericson walked out of Avyanna's room.

Avyanna rushed into the bathroom and turned on the shower. Just as the water began to trickle down her skin, she recalled something that she had in mind. She paused the bathing, grabbed her towel, and ran out of the bathroom to make a call.

"Hello Gina."

"Hello bitch! I have been waiting for you call, what took you so long?" Gina asked.

"Please Gina, it's really urgent." Avy breathed.

"What is it?" Gina asked in worry.

"I want to speak to your brother, the Lycan Alpha King."
