CHAPTER SIX

"You must be joking."

"Gina, why would I call you just to make a joke?" Avy sounded as serious as she could be.

"Because you miss me." Gina joked.

"I am damn serious, I've told you, it is urgent."

"Avyanna, you don't know my brother. He does not like getting affiliated with werewolves."

"It doesn't matter Gina. He is your brother; he will definitely give you a listening ear." Avy persuaded.

"I'll try my best, just give me few minutes to get to him, He should be in his room." Gina said.

"I have all the time." Avy adjusted the towel that covered her nakedness.

Avyanna met Gina back in high school. By then she wasn't aware of the fact that Gina was a Lycan. What would a Lycan be doing in Wales? Lycans never wanted to be around anyone other than themselves.

Gina had no friends in school because she was an introvert. Regardless of the fact that she was beautiful, attractive and intelligent, she found it hard to mingle among other students. Avyanna was always an out going person. One day, Gina got attacked by some group of guys who paraded themselves as the leaders of the school; a clique of sons of Alphas from different packs.

Avyanna was studying in the library that day, when she heard the distant noises and she went out to check what was going on. She saw Gina being cornered by four guys and she felt something wasn't right.

"What do you guys want from her?" Avyanna asked.

"Look at who we have here, another female." One of the boys, Avy thought to be their leader said and the rest bursted out laughing. Gina's hands and legs were shaking in fear, unlike Avyanna who had so much charisma. Avyanna noticed the way Gina became scared and she knew, she had to intervene the situation even though she didn't understand what was going on.

"Let the girl go."Avyanna commanded.

"And what would you do if we don't?"

"I will tear four of you into pieces." Avyanna was scared but a very talented actress. She didn't want them to think that she would be scared because they were four in number and it was just her.

"I am beginning to like you. I would love to see you tear us into the pieces." The same guy responded and they all laughed.

The boys transformed into their wolves, running towards Avyanna, she called Katie and Katie was strong and ready to attack.

Avyanna also charge towards them, paw to paw, claw to claw. She easily overpowered them, ripping their wolf's flesh with her paws and dodging whatever attacks they threw at her. They attacked her strategically but she defended herself skillfully bobbing and weaving as a wolf. Avy was more likely to win the battle, were it not for the fact that she was outnumbered.

She bobbed and weaved until her flesh was ripped by one of the wolves, then again and again. She sustained injuries that made her weak, causing her to lose the battle.

The supposed leader of the gang was really a tough one and Avyanna was too wounded to continue the fight.

All through the skirmish, Gina didn't run, she stood there watching how Avyanna fought for her bravely when she didn't even know her. She couldn't let her die that way. Seeing Avy fight, sparked up something in Gina. Immediately, the fearful Gina got on all fours and the invisible hair on her skin grew into fur in a matter of seconds, the yellowish color of her eyes thickened, and her bones animated to reveal her wolf.

Gina wolf charged at him and flung him out of the building through a sealed window. The window shattered as the other wolf made contact with it, before it went flying out of the building, only to fall and sustain grave injuries.

Avyanna laid down on the floor with her mouth wide open as she realized who she had been fighting for. Gina didn't have the same features she had. Gina was more stronger and agile than she was.

"You are a Lycan!" Avyanna cried out.

"Yes I am." Gina responded as she transformed back to her human form.

"What are you doing here in Wales? Why did you let me do all the fighting if you possess such strength?"

"I just wanted a change of environment. I have been hiding my true identity in Wales and no one has found out yet except you and now I have to leave before more people find out."

"Aren't the better schools in your territory?" Avyanna asked.

"They are. It's just that I want to be different. I want to know what it feels like to be someone else other than a Lycan."

"I can't believe this." Other wolves were always jealous of the Lycans super abilities and strength but Gina wanted to feel like other wolves except the Lycans which surprised Avyanna.

"Your wound needs to heal first; we shouldn't be having this conversation right now. Thank you for saving my life; I will never forget what you've done for me today."

That's how Avyanna and Gina became friends, although Gina left the next day before rumors could spread about the Lycan in Wales. They kept in touch with each other until the day Avy called for an audience with her brother, who for some reason disliked werewolves.

"Baron, I have a friend that wants to talk to you." Gina said to her brother. Baron, the Alpha Lycan King was training in the field behind his house. He took his private time seriously and would not dare joke with it.

"I don't want to talk to anyone right now." Baron said.

"You haven't even heard what she has to say yet." Gina persuaded.

"What important things do your friends say, except wanting to go to bed with me?"

"Trust me, this one is different."

"What's her name?"

"Luna Avyanna Windsor of Wales."

"I don't like to be disturbed during training, especially not from a mere werewolf. What does the Luna of Wales want from me? And when did you start making non-Lycan friends?" Baron finally looked at Gina.

"You're going to have to hear what this werewolf has to say. Trust your sister, the conversation will be worth it." Gina lifted the phone back to her ear and said, "Avyanna, speak to my brother Baron." then she shoved the phone into Baron's hands.

"Greetings the Great Lycan Alpha." Avy said.

"Speak!" The Lycan King sounded impatient.

Avyanna felt awkward and it was unlike her. She was always bold regardless of the person and situation but somehow she was nervous speaking to the Lycan King. Nervous and for another reason unknown to Avy, she felt a tingle to keep speaking to the arrogant Lycan king.

"I need your help your Majesty."

"What can I help a Luna with?"

Avyanna didn't know how to start the conversation because she could not explain to the Lycan Alpha that the Moon Goddess gave her a second chance.

"I joined my pack with that of my husband's when we got married but things have changed and are not the way it used to be before and I would like to separate my pack from his again."

"If this is what you called me for, I would advice you to reconcile with your husband and forget about any misunderstanding both of you had."

"I really want to do this otherwise I would not have called you. I need your backing to make this work out and I promise to give you whatever you want."

The Lycan King bursted out laughing through the phone, Avyanna became confused.

"Did I say anything funny?"

"I know you're type, Miss Windsor, but just understand that no matter what you do or any means you intend to use, I could never sleep with someone like you. You are no match for me." Baron's response exasperated Avyanna.

"Why would I call you just to go to bed with you? Do you think all ladies are as petty and uncivilized like all the girls you sleep with? No educated King would utter such words like you have just spoken and I am highly disappointed in you. I look forward to hearing from you when you're more civilized." Avyanna ended the call. She didn't have another plan or option, the Lycan King was her last and only hope.

Nobody had ever spoken in such a daring tone to the Lycan Alpha King. He wanted to know who this feisty Luna was. He handed his sister's phone back to her.

"What did she say?"

"Why are you interested? Isn't she your friend? Why can't you ask her?"

"Baron! You're so mean."

"How did you meet her?"

"Remember that time I attended a High school in Wales?"

"Yeah."

"She was the one that rescued me from the guys that attacked me."

"I see." The Lycan King respected people that cared for things and people that mattered to him.

"If she wants your help, I beg you to help her because she is a good person." Gina pleaded.

Baron went silent. His countenance told of a Lycan King that was contemplated.

"I will think about it." Baron said.

"Yay, thank you big bro."

"This is just for you Gina. I still despise Werewolves!"
