Ch. 4 New beginnings

Alcina sat on the passenger side of the car and waited for Xavier to say something. They had been quiet ever since she got out of the restroom and the doctor practically ran from the room. His eyes looked dark with anger and she was afraid to speak. Had she done something wrong?

"Listen, I don't like secrets. Especially when they aren't mine. I just wanted to let you know that the doctor told me everything. I know someone hurt you, in more than one way." Xavier began and Alcina stiffened.  What did he mean? Does he know what Brent did to her? Her body began to tremble at the thought. "I know someone forced themselves on you and I'm sorry. You're my mate and I wasn't there to protect you so I'm sorry. Nothing like that will ever happen again."

Alcina just nodded. In a pack there are no secrets. She wasn't sure how but she knew for some reason that he would keep her safe no matter what. She leaned over and patted his hand before going back to looking out her window. Moments later they arrived to a large mansion and her jaw dropped. Blue moon pack was fairly well off but nothing even touched close to the mansion she saw before her. Stepping out once the car stopped she just started at the large home.

"This is the pack house. Everyone in the pack is welcome and the door is always unlocked. The people who live here around the clock would be me, my beta John, Annie our cook, and three children I've taken in." Xavier explained standing next to her. She looked up at him curiously.

"Why did you take them in? The kids." She asked in a low tone. Most alphas would've sent children to their family or a pack member but Xavier took them in?

"They have no family. They were orphaned during the war of witches. I didn't feel right pawning them off on someone else when their parents were my warriors." He answered with a shrug. "Let's go inside. I'll show you to your room."

They walked inside and were immediately greeted by three different ages children. The oldest looked to be about sixteen, the middle around twelve, and the youngest couldn't be older than ten. They all looked similar so much that they could be related. Alcina wondered if they were.

"X, listen I was wondering if I could go to the mall tomorrow. Please. I'll train twice as hard tomorrow night." The older girl said giving him puppy dog eyes.

"No. Training comes first. You can go after but not before. Just because you don't have school doesn't mean you don't have to train. Go wash up and get ready for bed. I have things to tend to." He answered sternly. The children turned to Alcina.

"Who's this?" The boy who was about twelve asked. "X, did you find a girlfriend?"

The young boy smiled and Alcina could feel her face turn red. The youngest was also a boy who came up and stuck out his hand.

"My name is Bentley." He said with an innocent smile and Alcina took it and gave it a small shake.

"I'm Alcina. Nice to meet you Bentley." She smiled back and released his hand.

"This is Alcina, your new Luna." Xavier replied. There was a loud crash and everyone looked to find the source was a middle aged woman holding a dish towel. "Annie?"

"Are you serious, alpha? You found her?" Annie asked picking up the pieces of the broken plate. Alcina waited for him to yell and hit her for breaking a plate, but he never did.

"Just this afternoon." Xavier nodded and the woman came rushing forward with tears in her eyes. She quickly threw her arms around both of them sobbing.

"Oh praise the goddess! I'm so happy she's here. Our Luna has come home." Annie cried tears of joy and held them for a moment. Alcina hadn't been here very long but this pack was already so different than the one she left. When Xavier cleared his throat Annie released them.

"Yes. She's here. Now it's been a long day so, kids to bed. I'll be by to check on you once Alcina is settled." Xavier ordered and started directing Alcina to her room. "Until you feel comfortable, I've set up a separate room for you. Normally mates sleep together, but I thought you might like time to warm up to everything."

"Thank you." Was all Alcina could muster. They stopped on the second floor and he opened the third door on the right. Stepping in Alcina felt like she was in a dream. She never had anything close to being this nice.

"This is mine? It's three times as big as my old room." She stated, eyes wide with shock.

"It's all yours. Anything you want, it's yours. I aim to make sure you live the best life I can provide." Xavier smiled. He couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of his mate. She let out a childish giggle and fell backwards onto the bed. As she did so she let out a slight moan.

"This bed is heaven! I don't ever wanna leave it." She said propping herself up on her elbows. She smiles at Xavier who simply smiled back. They sat for a moment just staring at each other before Xavier cleared his throat.

"I'll um- I'll let you get settled." He said leaving the room. Once alone, Alcina thought about the last few days and couldn't help but feel better. She went from being a nobody that no one wanted to bring the Luna of a pack. She faded into a deep sleep thinking about what the next day might bring. For the first time since her family died, Alcina looked forward to a new day. It would be a new beginning for her after all.
