Chapter 3
Wulfgur got to his regal home and was welcomed by his ministers from the monster realm. He moaned on seeing them. What are they here for? He didn't remember requesting that they come today.
"Yet again, what's going on here? Is there anything critical that you really want to tell me?" He asked them as he sat on his huge throne. There ought to be something really bothering them. Seeing their straight faces, one could tell.
"Our King-Emperor," The minister of defence ventured forward among others and bowed. Wulfgur couldn't stand it when they addressed him that way.
He didn't know why he would prefer not to be called Emperor. Whether or not it's a unique and phenomenal name, he prefers it when they call him only Ruler, among all things.
"Speak." He told the minister.
"We don't know whether the Lord Emperor is as yet as worried as we are about the things that are currently happening. The monster realm is at risk. They are being sought after by the human trackers seriously. A couple of us has been captured just yesterday." The diminutive elderly person said. "Kindly find an answer for this, we beseech you, extraordinary King-Emperor." He added before he stepped back in line.
The monster realm isn't protected any more. That was his main domain among the domains he's ruling. Maybe that was because he's from the monster realm too.
"And what about the sentinels? They didn't try to get any of the trackers?" Wulfgur asked.
"The hunters had already gone before the sentinels could show up. It was already past the point of no return." One of the ministers replied.
Wulgur breathed in and out, perhaps it's time the soldiers attack at this moment and not stand by any longer.
He went to the head minister and addressed him, "What is it that you have to say in regards to this issue?"
The minister's answer was precisely what was at the front of Wulgur's thoughts, "We need to pursue them. It's high time they stop this trash. We have to stop them, my emperor," The man answered.
"OK. Gather both the U.S soldiers and the Royal military too, minister Josiah. We will march to war tomorrow. I want to believe that we've found out where they are at present, so I'd say we waste no extra time." He was conversing with the minister of defence. He was also the overall head of the Royal Military.
The man motioned and bowed."As you wish your Excellency. I will prepare myself and the militaries."
"You don't have to come. Since I will be there myself. You're going downhill as of now, I wouldn't want for you to pass on in battle. Especially not by those trackers." The king told him.
Minister Josiah looked toward the Ruler and bowed down,"My Lord, I've been fighting battles since my early life. I wouldn't see any problems with passing on in a battle."
However, Wulfgur requested he stay. Finally, Josiah consented to remain. His mind anyway was not absolutely extremely still. The trackers, their main target is to get Wulgur who has been ruling around three domains endlessly out. He was an incredible Lord and Ruler who has lived more than a thousand years. But in spite of that, capturing the emperor has been an incredibly troublesome task for the hunters. Impossible up until this point. Anyway, Josiah understood those trackers won't stop until they track him and find every means to put him down.
"We will go after them without earlier advance notice tomorrow. I guess Fredrick at this point already has a successor." The king smiled and got up from his high position. "Do you have anything more to express other than that?" He asked the ministers that were still before him.
"The actual cost of oil has been decreasing. The Romans aren't settling with us also." The minister of finance was the one who talked.
"I will meet with the Romans when I'm back tomorrow. About the oil, I will visit the market tomorrow and endeavor to settle out specific things. Every one of you can leave now. I wish to be left alone." Wulfgur said and left. After he left, the ministers dismissed themselves and returned back to their abode.
"Is there anything you'd like me to bring for you, my king?" The main servant was the oldest among the maids in the castle.
Likewise, she was Wulgur's favourite. He, from time to time, accepted her as his mother as she's always there for him.
"You don't have to stress yourself, Ma Grace. I'm fine. How's your grandson now? I want to believe that he is alright now?" Wulgur talked without looking at her. His concentration was somewhat centered around the paper he was trying to read.
"Thanks to Your Highness, he's getting along admirably well now. Stronger than before." replied Ma Grace. "I will leave since you don't need anything." She stepped back and left. She snapped her fingers and the other maids remaining in the room followed behind her.
Thirty minutes later, Wulgur was outside looking at the officers who were all set to go to war the following day.
"I've put together two hundred officers, your Highness." Minister Josiah said joyfully. At least, if he won't go there tomorrow with his Ruler, he was confident realizing that there will be a satisfactory number of warriors to protect his King.
"You shouldn't have organized this much. Two hundred is just... urgh, I understand you're doing this for the wellbeing of your Ruler, but you ought to know that I will be fine around there." The lord grinned.
"In any case, they are going with you." The minister said.
"Ok, ok. Fine." Wulfgur barely focused on his minister's words as his eyes caught Lun, his mate.
He was wearing the yellow material around his arm used for identifying those that'd be going with the ruler the following day. He gulped hard. He will not permit Lun to endanger his life in that approaching destructive battle.
Should his mate get harmed or die again very much like the initial time, he would take his life in misery.
"Do not let that boy come tomorrow." He pointed at Lun.
"Why? I heard he's your new guard, so I figured he will help also."
"No,….." He grasped his clenched hand. "Do not permit him to come. You can replace him with another soldier, but make sure he does not come." Wulfgur commanded in a rather calm voice.
"OK, Your Highness. I will do as you wish." The minister bowed and continued with his stroll with the King.
As he walked, he kept inquiring as to why the ruler declined the young boy from going to war, however he didn't get an ideal explanation.
The Next Day...
"I thought I asked minister Josiah not to let you come!!!!" The Ruler hollered, astounded to see Lun with the soldiers.
"Please, accept my apologies. I couldn't just agree with him like that. I'm your own guard and I should do my absolute best to protect you, my Ruler" Lun bowed.
Wulfgur took a deep breath in and out. He had thought it would be better for him to protect his mate by asking him not to go to war, than for Lun risking his life to protect him.
Just before he could think of what to do, as they nearly arrived at the Monster realm, two of the vehicles got bombed on the way. This occurrence could only mean one thing: The trackers are close. Perhaps, a spy already snitched and told them they were coming.
"Get down, Lun!" Wulfgur shouted harshly at Lun, but the young boy wasn't prepared to submit to the orders of the King.
Instead, just as the vehicle halted, Lun descended and walked towards the path where the damaged vehicles were.
'You should do your best to protect the king and not him protecting you,' Lun told herself and smiled.
She didn't see the bullets coming towards her, she was shot once, but before the second and third bullets could get to her, Wulfgur showed up right away and covered her, taking the bullets for her.
He squeezed her clothes tight, pressing her towards himself, enduring through the torment and agony he felt being so close to his mate. Worse case- silver bullets! Well, he can stil manage. He is, afterall, a Lycan King.
"You're shot!!" He murmured into her ear.
Lun was surprised. He's worried over her and not himself? Is the king crazy? He was shot more times than her!
However, before she could reply, she felt her eyes heavy. "I'm dizzy," She murmured back.
"I will kill the people who tried to hurt you." His voice came out absolutely serious. "I won't allow them to hurt you the second time, not when I'm still alive." He muttered, however Lun didn't hear that, or even if she did, she didn't actually understand what he meant.
She almost slipped out of Wulgur's hold, but he managed to grab her tight once more. Her eyes were, at that point, already shut.
