Chapter 2
MARCO
When the plane landed, Michael, my longtime assistant in France, immediately supported me. He is one of those I trust and he is also a detective so he is a good fit for his position.
"Found her?" my whispered question was enough for him to hear.
"Yes Mr. Freniere and she is currently living in a small apartment and she is confirmed to be pregnant and I think she has been pregnant for five months," he stated while looking at his memo note.
Five months, five months, and now she still lives in an apartment? Where does she get her rent payments and what other bills, because I know she has no relatives here. What does she do for a living? Why the hell do I care about her? Stop thinking about that woman Marco! focus on your own task and that is to revenge. She should pay for everything she did, she's not worth your love.
"You have a 10 Mr. Freniere," Miguel said and I nodded.
I knew one day she would know that I was here, and I also knew that when she came here she went to the condo where we were staying and looked for me. And if she were to send me the child she was carrying, I would take it, according to my plans. At first I knew I was the father of what she was carrying but I wanted her to tell me that I was the father she is bearing. I'll just take the child and leave her alone. That's what I should do and the right thing to do. No matter how much she treated me, I still loved her. But the wounds she gave me would not be sealed by love. I want her to taste all the pain slowly.
Before I came here I had to stay in London first to think about everything I had to do. Even before Mirana made her betrayal to me I had a house built in London and there I wanted to make a new life with her and our children, but now it seems like a waste. There I thought I was going to take the child she was carrying, our son. I will not give her the right to the child. I'll give her a contract to sign.
My phone rang and I excused myself.
I looked at the caller's ID and it was Keiro.
"Hey"
"Hey Marco," he said in a low tone and I knew something bad had happened.
"Tell me now Keiro what is it?" I asked and he took a deep breath before answering.
"I have been arranged," he said, causing me to frown.
"Arranged to what? Be specific Keir," I said and he sounded irritated.
"marriage," he finally said after a minute of silence.
"To whom?"
"I don't know who that woman is and she's just unlucky and I've chosen to marry her. She'll live in hell," he said and I know that he didn't want this situation.
" When have you been arranged?"
"I don't fucking know and I have no plans to find it out."
"Please don't hurt a woman. She may not want to marry you either. After you get married we have an annulment bro," I stated and there was a sudden tap on me and when I turned to see Michael.
"We need to go Mr. Freniere," he said, gesturing to me in the car who is waiting for us to go.
"I need to go, Keiro, think before you act. I'll call you later." I said and ended the call.
I can't believe his family did that to him. But as others have said everything has its reason.
"Miguel," I called
"Yes Mr. Freniere?" he asked
"Cancel all of my meetings, show me where she lives," I ordered and he obeyed immediately.
When we got to where she was, I saw her carrying heavy things to the other house. I wanted to get out of the car and help her and give her a word for doing heavy things. But I just keep myself from going out.
"Whose house does she go to?" I asked Miguel as I didn't take my eyes off of Mirana.
"According to my memo notes that house belonged to Cello Frey but he is not there now because he went to the Philippines for his family," he stated while reading his notes.
Cello Frey, who is he in her life?
Do they have a relationship? So many questions ran through my mind that I could not answer them. I looked at Mirana again, wiping her sweat, obviously struggling with what she was doing. She held her stomach and I don't know if she was crying as she patted her stomach. And as I looked at her she looked at our direction frowning.
"Let's go," I ordered and the engine started.
I took one last look at her and she was gone in where she was standing.
Someday, we will see each other and that day... I hope you are prepared.
