Chapter 2

'Ma is this mine?" Linda asked the lady in disbelief. The lady nodded her head saying yes.

'Your application was rejected, try again next year." Linda couldn't feel her legs anymore, she was completely disappointed in herself. Earlier she thought maybe she was overthinking that's why she used to call herself cursed, but now it's clear to her that she is really cursed.

This is the month of February so there is no way she can wait till next year.

'I lost this time again." Linda said to herself and slowly stood up from the chair, this is like the fifth time she is getting such disappointing news about her rejected application.

If she had known, she would have not bothered coming to the company. She stepped out of the Human Resources Manager office.

The same lady that was acting cold hearted finally softened because of the look on Linda's face.

While Linda was walking out, she remembered she'll cross part with the same secretary she insulted. She paused walking and placed her hand on her forehead.

'If I had known I wouldn't have talked too much." Linda said to herself, when she got downstairs she peeped if it's the same receptionist that's at the counter.

The minute she peeped, she sighted the receptionist leaving her duty post and immediately she ran out of the company.

When she got out, she started walking like someone that's frustrated.

'Why is it so hard for me to get a job?" Linda asked herself and paused walking. She was completely tired at this point, she is tired of the constant failure when it comes to getting herself a job.

Linda squatted and shouted out her frustration. While she was shouting she started crying.

'I'm tired." Linda said to herself in a low tone after shouting.

She noticed that people were staring at her because of the way she squatted on the road. She decided to stand up and keep walking before people began to ask her if everything was alright.

Oh no, why me?"

Gwen asked herself as she continued to slowly walk back home.

'I know I am cursed and I have very bad luck" Linda shouted.

She noticed that people were staring at her because of the way she shouted so she raised her right hand a little bit and bent her head saying

'Am sorry, sorry" with a low and disappointing tone.

As soon as she left that environment she continued to talk to herself.

'I know I was cursed from the womb am sure of that" she said to herself.

She sighted a bus from the bus station and began to run towards it.

'Wait wait please don't leave me" she said as she ran to catch up with the bus.

She was able to get to the bus station but immediately as she got there the bus moved.

'Wait please wait for me, I am here already" she shouted.

But it was too late the bus had already zoomed off.

'From one bad luck to another, when will I ever experience good things? All my life has been from one problem to another problem" Linda said to herself

'Even a bus won't stop for me" she continued saying while squatting on the floor.

She was so sad and about to cry. .. she would cry any moment from now.

'I thought my life would change after today, I thought I was going to get the job, I had a good feeling about this one, but No! it didn't work at usual" she cried out loud

'I wish I could see my back right now to know if bad luck was written boldly there, or maybe it is disgrace or never help rather throw her out" She said to herself while crying.

Linda felt a warm and calming touch on her shoulder which made her stop crying and paused, she looked at her shoulder and saw a light skinned hand which looked like that of a male hanging on her shoulder. She raised her head slowly to see who he was.

A middle aged looking man was standing right beside him with a warm look on his face. Even though he was old, he still looked very handsome and attractive and would make countless people turn their heads… Linda could not stop herself from staring deeply at the man as she felt like she had seen him somewhere before, he kind of looked really familiar to her. She looked away after staring at him for a while.

" Maybe I was wrong." she said inwardly.

'Are you okay?" The old man asked, looking a bit worried but his face was all smiley. His voice was deep and clear… She thought she was dreaming because nobody ever cared about how she was doing all her life, so she ignored him and continued crying again.

'What's wrong? Are you okay?" The old man felt a bit confused and wondered what he had done wrong to make her cry again.

Linda raised her head and looked at the man again... The look on the man's face made her realize that he wasn't trying to mock her but he genuinely cared.

'No... I'm not okay... but, why do you care?" Linda asked the man as another tear ran down her face.

The man smiled warmly. " I wouldn't have minded you if you had not bump into me but it's good that you did." The old man said and handed his handkerchief to her to wipe her tears. She collected it from him and wiped off her tears.

"This is it." She said after wiping off her teary face.

'Never mind" the man waved his hand with a smile on his face. He wanted her to feel comfortable around him so he told her his name.

'My name is Elder ken.. I live around here and I am Alpha Lucas's man" he said proudly and Linda widened her eyes!

'Alpha Lucas? The handsome but cold and ruthless Alpha?" She mumbled inwardly before she forced a smile at the man.

'My name is Linda, the bad luck child" she said firmly and she rolled down her eyes.

Elder Ken was surprised to see her cry again when he thought she had already stopped crying.

'Why are you crying? Who said you are bad luck? you look so much like an Angel in the sky to me!" Elder Ken scolded her and hit her sternly on her forehead!

'Ouch!" She groaned and rubbed her forehead…

'An angel? How do I look like an angel? how?" She shouted as she continued to rub her already red forehead.

'I know you are only saying that to make me feel better," she said with a sad tone.

He noticed he wasn't helping her at all so he asked her where her bus stop was and she told him.

'You are so pathetic!" He lamented and grabbed her hand. " You're marked by me now. Make sure to attend Alpha Lucas's bride choosing ceremony, okay?"

" What?!" Linda was confused at what he was saying but she couldn't ask more as the bus already stopped.

She looked at the weird man one more time and rushed into the bus. She entered the bus and sat down but she felt strange somehow... she looked at her hand the man grabbed the other time and realised there was a mark on it already!

" A werewolf mark?" She mumbled to herself and sighed. The old man was really weird

~The bus passed through a company she once applied for. She was already selected over there until they asked for her parents' names, so she gave them to her father. When they checked the background of her father they realized he was a fraudster and it would not be good to accept a daughter of a fraudster to work for their company because it would affect the company's reputation. She was so depressed during that period but she didn't give up. She went to apply for another company where she would have nothing to do with their funds. This time around it was a fashion company. Linda applied and unfortunately she wasn't selected and was later thrown out by the security because she tried to force her way in. She used all her savings to get a fine and expensive gown so she could look like a fashionista, but it didn't work out. Instead they sent her out saying she looks good but her fashion sense doesn't match with the standards of the company.

While she was deep in thought, she failed to realize she had gotten to her destination. A young girl who knew Linda was going to alight there taped her to remind her that she has gotten to her stop. " Miss," the young girl called.

Linda was surprise to know this, she thanked the girl and came down immediately.

" Today is nothing to write home about," Linda said to herself and placed her hand on her forehead as she walked toward her boyfriend's house.
