Chapter 2

'Who is that person beside you!" The old woman yelled angrily. 'Have I not told you I don't want any of those stupid girls you keep bringing here?" The grandma asked the storekeeper angrily

'Good day grandma." Clarissa greeted the old woman so that she could introduce herself to her.

'How dare you call me that?" Clarissa stepped back immediately. She was wondering how a woman in a wheelchair is so aggressive.

'Grandma, I would have lived to stop but your son Insisted on getting you new help." The storekeeper explained to the old woman.

Clarissa and the old woman's eyes met, Clarissa found her glare too scary so she looked away immediately.

'Who are you and what's your name?" The old woman asked Clarissa.

'My name is Clarissa Emberdale." The old lady still didn't look pleased with her, so she turned around and headed to her room.

'Is she always like that?" The storekeeper turned to look at Clarissa.

'I asked you before telling you to follow me."

'But you never told me I'll be taking care of an old woman." Clarissa muttered to herself.

'Did you say anything?" The storekeeper asked Clarissa.

'No, I didn't."

'Okay, good. Your clothes are in your room, and you have to get up every day by 4am." Clarissa's eyes widened.

'Four in the morning?" Clarissa asked, finding it unbelievable.

'Do you have a problem with that?"

'No, I don't,"

'I have to be on my way now, I'll give you the contract form tomorrow." Clarissa was wondering what type of mess she had gotten herself into.

'Okay, thank you," Clarissa said to the storekeeper and closed the door.

'Don't you ever slam my door like that!" The old woman yelled angrily from her room.

'Seriously? How did she hear the sound from up there?" Clarissa said to herself and walked to her room.

She was surprised to see how clean the room is, it was arranged like they were expecting a guest. Clarissa lay on the bed tiredly and closed her eyes.

The moment she closed her eyes she remembered how Clyde threw her out of the castle like she meant nothing to him.

'Can I just wake up from this unending nightmare?" Clarissa asked herself, trying hard to forget what had happened during the day.

Clarissa sat up on the bed and started crying it was just too hard for her to forget, she realized Alpha Clyde only used her to achieve his goals, and when there was no more need for her again he decided to dump her.

'I loved him with everything that I had," Clarissa said to herself and couldn't stop crying. Clarissa suddenly realized she is slowly breaking because of Clyde and she promised herself she would bit let any man make her break.

She wiped her tears and slept off.

THE NEXT MORNING*******

'Where is that lazy idiot!" The old lady yelled out angrily.

'Clarissa!" The old woman shouted her name. She took her little water with her while she was leaving the room. The moment she got to Clarissa's room she saw her laying on the bed still sleeping.

'Oh my..," Marissa jumped up the moment she felt water pouring on her. She was wondering what was going on until she sighted the old woman.

'Good morning grandma." Clarissa greeted the old woman still in shock at how she woke up.

'Why are you still sleeping by this time? Don't you know it's time to help me with my bath?" Grandma said to her angrily and ride her wheelchair out of Clarissa's room.

Clarissa lowered her head and placed her hand on her belly. She would have decided to stop but for the sake of the baby growing inside her, she is ready to do anything.

She followed the old woman to her room. Clarissa was confused because she was not taught how to bathe the old woman.

'Why do you keep walking around hopeless?" The old woman asked Clarissa.

'Uhm…i-i am wondering which of these two is the bathing soap?" The old woman looked at Clarissa in disgust.

'You are so stupid, I thought you will be different from the other girls that worked here." The old lady rode her wheelchair and took the soap.

'What are you still doing here? Get out!" Clarissa was shocked to hear what the old woman said to her, it made her remember the way Clyde yelled at her to get out of the pack.

'Go and make me breakfast." Clarissa was acting traumatized by the word ‘get out as it kept ringing in her head.

'Clarissa!" The moment she heard the old woman's voice she snapped out of her thoughts and walked out of the room.

'What is wrong with me?" Clarissa asked herself and sat on the couch in the sitting room.

She was wondering how an old lady would eat her breakfast so early. She remembered how the old lady always yelled so she stood up and walked to the kitchen.

She made breakfast for the old woman and when the woman was done bathing she made her way downstairs.

'I'm done serving breakfast ma'am." The old woman raised her head to look at Clarissa.

'Won't you help me to the dining chair?" Clarissa immediately rushed to help the old woman.

'You can leave, I'll call you if I need anything." Clarissa thought of not going because she don't know if the old woman meant what she was saying it not.

'Ma'am I…"

'Why are you being too stubborn?" The old lady slammed her hand on the table angrily.

'I'm sorry I'll leave now." Clarissa walked away immediately.

The old lady looked at what Clarissa served her and it smelt nice but she was a bit unsure of how it'll taste.

When Clarissa got to her room. She decided to pinch herself because everything seemed to be happening too fast, just like a dream.

'Ouch!" Clarissa shouted when the pinch hurt her.
